Pancake House (PH) is an establishment wherein you can't think of a place to eat when you're in a certain city. A safe place, similar to McDonald's, Jollibee, KFC, etc.

Like other PHs' I've visited, there isn't anything on the menu that stood out to me, so I order my regular--steak & eggs. As you can see from the photo, it looks unappetizing. Well, it sure is unappetizing. I don't know why I keep ordering this dish.

Ordering a medium rare steak in PH is a hit or miss. It's either overcooked, or *blue. It's served under-seasoned, so what you'll get is a bland taste, like boiled, unsalted meat. The beef is tough and chewy, even their steak knives doesn't stand a chance to it.

What I enjoyed is their fresh calamansi juice served with a side of simple *simple syrup. Nothing beats hot weather than ice-cold fresh juice.

Though I complain about the dish I continuously order, I have hopes one day I'll get a good steak from Pancake House.

By the way, don't open nor use their salt and pepper shakers. They don't clean it! You may be surprised on what you'll find and smell.

*side notes:
-blue: a step below rare

As goes: blue-rare-medium rare-medium-medium well-well done

-simple syrup: a mixture of water and sugar
