Since I have been MIA from Ortigas for over a year, there's so much new restaurants around the area now.

For dessert after lunch, we went to Papa Diddi's. I was so full from the pasta so I opted to just taste from my friend's order.

Davao Meets Bicol - chocolate ice cream with chili
This thing packs a punch! Spicy!

Double Jeopardy (not sure of the name) - chocolate with coffee
If I had ordered my own ice cream I would definitely go for this one! It's so good!

A new member of expanding line of restaurants in Sapphire Bloc. They offer mostly Filipino influence with its owner born and raised at far north Tugegarao. Have you heard or been to that place?

What attracted me here first was their all
natural Ice Cream. It’s obvious as you walk along Sapphire. They started as a stall in Maginhawa as shared to me by their marketing consultant, CJ. Their organic and unique creations was a hit. This second installment now offers more than dessert.

Must have is their Chocolate meets Bicol! It has a loving sweet chocolatey taste at the start and then surprises you with a plunge of spice at the end. You will feel this rush for sure. Also loved the pineapple. Three scoops with a cone for Php 105. Unbelievable deal!

Since this was my first meal when I visited on the second time, I had a breakfast like pick. I had their Chicken Tocino skewered with garlic fried rice and fresh sunny side up egg. I enjoyed this dish as evident to how fast I finished it.

To pair with this was a healthier pick of their version of Lumpiang Sariwa. It was interestingly served cold. The vegetables were refreshing and it went so well with sweet peanut sauce.

It won’t be my last stop. CJ recommends by heart their noodles from Tugegarao. It is one of the dishes from that province.

The place also boast a homey classic feel complimented by high ceiling, photos, memorabilia and well air conditioning.

Their Bagnet Omurice is awesome! No wonder it's their best seller. Every bite of their bagnet was crispy and the vinegar is a good tandem. The omelette comes with bagoong rice which is a good combination too! 128055

I also ordered Sagada pressed coffee and it's good. I didn't have to put milk and sugar because the coffee just tastes good as it it. 9749

I also tried their Davao Meets Bicol ice cream which is spicy dark chocolate. This one is just superb. 🌶 128557

One of their recommended dishes was their Champorado and Bagnet which seems to be an odd pairing. I don’t know why I was gravitated towards this but maybe it’s an IDILY hangover. Hahaha. The champorado itself was good on its own. I liked the chocolate used in the mix as it wasn’t that sweet. And yes, it did work with the paired bagnet. The pairing was just crunchy yet still had that succulent meat in.

They have three choices for their pressed coffee, namely, Benguet, Kalinga and Sagada. I opted for Sagada which is the lightest among the three. Benguet was the strongest with Kalinga having that medium roast taste. I decided not to add the sugar and milk first to taste the brew itself. It was indeed very light, and quite similar to drinking tea. I was able to just drink it on its own and felt the lightness of the coffee beans.

One must not leave this place without having dessert. Or a scoop of their handcrafted ice cream. I tried their Tres Leches which is a mix of condensada, carabao’s milk and coconut milk. The result was a mildly sweet ice cream that was a good ending to the dishes I had here. It may not have that creamy texture but still a good scoop.

Neat placemat right? I like the pocket there where all the utensils are placed. The overall vibe was just warm and homey with a little quirky side (just look at those lighting details). It has a very high ceiling which makes it open and welcoming.

There's a great deal of restaurants at Sapphire Bloc and surrounding the building. This makes me very happy because I can just walk from my place and I have more options now aside from Jollibee and Mcdo; Señor Pollo, Pho Hoa, Sobremesa and more..

Papa Diddi's is one of the restaurants at this place that is always full because of their breakfast-lunch meals and a lot of dessert options.

Yesterday, I lined up and tried their Bucayo and Chocnut Ice Cream. The Bucayo has strips of young glutinous coconut and really tasted like Bucayo. The level of sweetness will make any sweet-tooth rave about it. I did not like their Chocnut Flavor because it tasted dull like having your first sip of Milo Dinosaur without stirring thoroughly. It did not deliver that sweet chocolate-nutty goodness you get when you eat Hany, Choc Nut or ChocoStar.

I also tried their Churros Con Chocolate. The chocolate ice cream on top was okay but the churros was heaven sent. It was really crisp on the outside and the inside was moist and light. They did not coat the churros too much with sugar and cinnamon which is good. I don't want sweet on sweet.

Service was good and fast but I think they need a few more to help. They had two servers at 12NN.

Ice cream cravings with my officematesvlast Monday. Visited Papa Didi's once sgain, just few walks from our office.

I had their 2 scoops for only P95, with free cone. I chose Coffee Addiction and Davao Meets Bicol.

The Coffee Addiction, there's a strong coffee taste. I loved it as the commercial ice creams were to creamy that coffee taste is bland.

Davao Meets Bicol, this one is surprisingly good. Its a dark chocolate with spicy after taste. Its a must try!

This place has a very unfamiliar flavors, but you can get free taste first for you to decide🙂

Ice cream is my favorite since I was a kid up to now. I always look for what's new gelato in town. So i was passing by that time when I noticed this place they offered gelato, desserts etc. There's a lot of unique flavors to choose from. So what I got are Pilinileni and Chocolate.

Had lunch here with officemates one afternoon. There weren't too many restaurants where we can eat at in the area, so we opted to try Papa Diddi's.

My officemates ordered different variants of omurice, while I chose the Lawyer's Sandwich since I wasn't in the mood to eat rice (as I was pretending to be on diet 128556). We also ordered Pancit Batil Patung, which was apparently a Tuguegarao dish. This was of particular interest to me, as it wasn't your ordinary pansit. It was composed of a lot of ingredients which I couldn't define, but fortunately worked well together. It also had an egg soy broth/sauce that you had to smother over the dish, to make it more flavorful.

It could have been a great dining experience, if it weren't for these instances: a) my food was served almost well after my lunchmates were done with their meals. We had to follow up with about three of their staff, who just evasively answered my food was about to be served. How long does it take to make a sandwich anyway? b) the staff who took my order wasn't helpful in helping me choose, when I still couldn't decide what to eat. I asked what was in the Lawyer's Sandwich (ie., chicken?) and all he could remember was that there was cilantro in it. Lo and behold, when I took a bite of my sandwich, I couldn't detect a taste of cilantro anywhere, and c) we had to sit outside because the place was packed and it wasn't a spot you'd like to stay at for a long time--there were flies roaming around and the cars and street pollution were practically on our food and faces.

Saving grace of the overall experience was the ice cream. Although it wasn't creamy and texture was very "sorbetes," the flavors were interestingly tasty. I chose the saba and bukayo options--slightly sweet, but really good.

Needless to say, will come back here for the dessert. May still eat here again, but hoping for a much better experience next time.

Went here for another dinner rendezvous alone. I skipped the ice cream, and opted for something on the healthy side. From the menu, I picked Lumpia Pagayaya which is fresh veggie lumpia wrapped in a crepe wrapper covered with their version of lumpia sauce and smothered with crushed chicharon and peanuts. I dig the freshness of the ingredients, the veggies inside were cut right. The crepe wrapper was soft but does not easily break, which made it easy to eat as the veggies inside don't fall while a spoonful makes its way to your mouth. The sauce was good, but was quite heavy when you are trying to finish the dish on your own. The crushed chicharon was a pleasant surprise, although the thick sauce made it "makunat". As for the place, it was spacious enough to accommodate 25-30 pax at a time. The staff were really friendly and nice. They were also very attentive; they fill my glass with water just as soon as I emptied it.

AMAZING! All-natural flavors and colors and for a good price. I loved this!

All flavors are unique! I had 2 scoops for P85. Mmmm Peanut Butter and Jelly plus Starry Surprise. My cup came with a cone and I paid an extra P10 for toppings and an extra P35 for a cookie.

Love love love! Serving was just right to satisfy my ice cream cravings but not make me umay! Guilt-free ice cream!

There's a long queue, since this place is new and everybody wants to try. So excited!
I had 2 scoops (P85) flavors are: Corn with strawberry and Roasted coconut with sun flower seeds! Totally not the usual flavors.. But its good and creamy to death128540
