So in love with their Linguine alle Vongole! The serving is good for one but if you have extravagant orders, it can be split in to two! In my case last night dinner, I had to order another one because its so delicious! Pasta is "al dente" clams is not "malansa" basil was fresh! Love it!

Ordered prosciutto pizza, and it was amazing, ordered side of shaved Parmesan placed on top of the pizza, top with lots of arugula and flavors gushes out 128525! Hubby ate two slices and the rest was mine128513. Don't get me wrong, we saw an Italian customer near our table who ordered pizza as well and he ate the entire thing.I think it's normal for them if you want to solo the entire pizza. That's part of the tradition or its really normal. I bet when other Filipino saw what I did they might have opinion that I'm greedy128514!

We opt on ordering "Filetto" angus beef steak instead of wagyu because wagyu is best to eat when it's very hot. They don't have stone grill here so I'm afraid that it end up being gummy when it turns cold! (Though I don't eat angus beef) I only stick in wagyu when it comes for steak. I was wrong with this one---The steak was very good. The best angus beef I ever had! 200g is good for one person, but -again if you order other menu it can be split. Its tender melt in your mouth texture. 128077 all these are recommended! I will try carbonara next time. I bet all the food here are the best.

Most thing I like here, was the ambiance. You will barely see Filipino eats here, more like foreigner!m or half Chinese half Filipino. Place was pleasant, servants are very attentive! The price is exorbitant for an average person. But for me is below average for a fine dining and for the steak and the quality food that they have here, I think for me this the real deal! Not bad if you try one time for occasion! I'll come back here whenever I'm craving for Italian food.

Osso Bucco and Risotto are comfort food. So seeing both on one plate made me giggle in delight! Actually, if you look at it, it doesn’t look quite that appetizing. But these delicious chunks of meat are so good that you’ll enjoy the dish without any additional condiment. The beef is fork tender and the seasoning is evenly distributed. Even the sauce works lovely with the velvety and creamy saffron risotto. A must try when you visit Paparazzi at EDSA Shangri-La.

it's been years since we've dined here. the kumander craved italian so we decided to try paparazzi again instead of the usual senju sushi bar. we absolutely loved the ravioli, delicate and not overwhelming putanesca sauce and obviously great cheese (ricotta i think).

the olive oil they gave us for dipping the complimentary bread deserves a special mention, panalo. the kind that when you see being poured, you're sure it's extra virgin.

the wagyu beef meatball is also fantastic. again, just a subtle hint of truffle to compliment the already rich wagyu taste just so.

what came as a bit of disappointment was the spinaci (sautéed baby spinach), which was too salty for us. which brings me to the service and waitstaff, which remains to be topnotch. when we gave our feedback re the spinaci to the waiter, they were kind enough to exclude it from our bill without us asking. bravo.

saving the best for last, their panna cota is still one of the best in town. i know i've said balducci's version is a favorite but paparazzi's will give theirs a run for the money. coffee is good too.

to sum, we're definitely going back.

The last time I ate here, it was my cousin’s debut. So I wasn’t really able to review the place as a regular restaurant. There are 3 obvious things here. First off, its an Italian restaurant. Second, It’s Shangri-la Hotel so it’s gonna be good. Lastly, it’s going to be expensive. But if you are looking for high quality gourmet Italian food and not so much on quantity, then Paparazzi is the right place for you! Steaks are aged and marinated perfectly. Risotto is creamy and expertly cooked. Their dessert selection is extensive and quite sinful. This is the perfect place for those surprise wedding anniversary / birthday dinners.

Good food and great service! You have to wait a bit though for your food, but I don't mind. Watching Masterchef has showed me how chaotic producing good meals are. HAHAHA. They give bread baskets while you're waiting though! 128522

I apologize for the poor photo quality. Took it on the sly with a borrowed phone as mine ran out of battery.128556128517

Anyway, Paparazzi is and always have been my go-to place for fail safe pasta and any other Italian culinary goodness i might suddenly have a craving for. Most of their pastas are made inhouse and should you have something in mind that is not on the menu, their amazing chefs are more than happy to make it for you provided that the ingredients are available (additional charges apply of course). You can't go wrong with their lamb, risotto and veal dishes.10084 The desserts are heaven too128536

Service is top-notch. 128077128076128522 Look for Joms, he's the captain waiter and ask for recommendations if you're not sure what to order.

I won't regret celebrating my birthday at this gem of Edsa Shangri-la.
The whole dining experience left an incredible mark for me. Talk about the dishes, every single dish of our course meal was fab. Starting from my appetizer of Caprese until the dessert Classic lemon tart, deserves my 2 thumbs up. My favorites are the Rack of Lamb and Fusilloni.
I also loved the service and peacefulness of the place. The ambiance matters a lot to my choice of restaurant. For my occasion, i wouod always go away from the crowd and be private with my favorite people as much as possible.
Paparazzi deserves so much praises for the food, service and ambiance.

The Food Scout approves of Paparazzi. 128077

Cheers,

I didn't expect a Shangri-La restaurant to have such horrible service. About half an hour had already passed before we were all served water by waiters who were being as idle as the pitchers of water on the bar counter. Apparently the restaurant likes being consistent so they took their sweet time with everything else as well from our meals all the way to the check. They forgot to make one of the dishes we ordered because "the chef forgot about it because there were so many orders". We were a group of 19 but there were only about 6 other people in the restaurant, and we got there before everyone else. Can't imagine how they'd be able to handle things if their restaurant was half full.

The food was unimpressive. I don't even care enough to get into detail.

We went here to celebrate my hubby's birthday and surprisingly it was so hard to call the waiters every now and then. I was expecting the service to be 100% efficient but it turned out the orher way around. The food was just ok. Maybe I had very high expectations coz its in Edsa Shang. The aragosta soup (lobster bisque) was okay. The one I posted is gnocci. Its part of the pasta menu with truffle. It was 80% okay. Serving size was small.
My daughter got lambchops and for my hubby he had angus beef. It was on the salty side.
I would rate the ambiance to be 5 stars that's it!!! That's the only nice part.
We got a 50% off with the bdo creditcard amex platinum promo but still not satisfied.

50% off for bdo titanium & platinum card holders on weekdays!

The promo is valid until dec 6! Applicable in summer palace, paparazzi & heat. Minimum of single receipt purchase of 3,000.

Haven't been here in such a long time. Had my lamb chops cooked medium. It was super tender & juicy. It was weird though that they served it with gravy rather than mint jelly. It came with roasted veggies, potato gratin, confit garlic. It was heaven on your palate!

Ambiance is still the same. They could have an update on the decor though. Hahaha

A three-course gourmet meal at one of the country's upscale hotel-restaus for only Php 550 nett! EDSA Shangri-La's Paparazzi Restaurant offers the Pranzo Squisito.

Perhaps Paparazzi is this hotel's "quieter" restaurant. It is normally over-shadowed by Heat's buffet offerings and Summer Palace's dimsum buffet where patrons troop in maddening packs to feast on the unlimited food spreads. But , IMO, Paparazzi by itself is one of the good venues to get fine Italian cuisine.

The Pranzo Squisito (which roughly translates to Exquisite Lunch) is an Executive Lunch special offered by Paparazzi. This is available only on weekday lunches and will be offered until the end of September.

This promo is basically Paparazzi's way of "testing" new dishes not offered in their regular menu. The good thing though is that the menu changes every week and the fresh condiments change daily---depending on the freshly delivered produce from their suppliers. I'm guessing, that the "most liked dishes" may be added when they revise their regular offerings.

Paparazzi still has that subdued, cozy, elegant charm. A more private vibe than it's other in-hotel restaurant counterparts. Nicely furnished with accents of framed black and white classic photos of popular Hollywood and foreign movie personalities. This visit, the place was comfortably filled with diners. Couldn't help but notice a table sitting a known politician and her small entourage. Another table sitting a popular society magazine editor/writer and his gaggle of equally colorful group.

The Pranzo Squisito Menu was separately given. Diners are given a choice between three dishes per course. There were 3 antipasti, 3 mains (a meat, fish, or pasta dish), and 3 dessert choices.

I got the Zuppa (or Chef Robby's blend--the executive chef's take on pumpkin soup), for my main I chose the Manzo ( Slow Roasted Beef Short Ribs), and for dessert--their Cinnamon Gelato.

My friend got the Gamberi (Prawns Carpaccio), the Manzo, and Cheesecake.

While waiting for our meal, free freshly baked Focaccia bread with Olive Oil-Balsamic dips was served. The bread smelled and tasted so good. Lightly herbed with a thin crust and a soft -spongey center. Sarap with the dip! Serving size was huge. Awesome pre-meal munchies.

The Zuppa (pumpkin soup) was great. The chef definitely did not incorporate any cream based ingredient in the dish. The natural sweet, starchy and creamy flavors of the fresh pureed squash simply stood out. It was lightly rich in consistency. One of the best tasting pumpkin soups I have tasted.

I tried my friend's Gamberi. It was basically fresh prawns , shelled, butterflied, lightly seasoned and served with fresh greens. The prawns tasted really freshly sweet and succulent. The vinaigrette dressing was lightly tangy-sweet.It reminded me of a very good and non-acidic kilawin with some good nutty olive oil. The veggies were crisp, the carrot ball and cherry tomato-sweet and crunchy. The crumbled feta cheese added a good salty level to the dish.

The Manzo (Slow Roasted Beef Short Ribs). The dish simply blew us away! The beef was so tender. It was packed with flavors--the herbs, a red wine -tomato based sauce. Lightly smokey with a sweet note from the wine. It reminded us of an excellent osso buco that had a thinner sauce. Simply exquisite! The sauce was so delicious that we wiped our plates clean with the bread. The steamed fresh broccoli florets and asparagus spears added a sweet-green flavor and crunchy texture to the dish. Definitely a winner. Hopefully, Paparazzi adds this dish to their regular menu.

Free coffee, tea, or hot chocolate was served with the dessert.

The Cinnamon Gelato was home made. It was served on a light bedding of some crushed white biscuit. I liked this flavor. It was rich and had the right amount of cinnamon flavor. The crushed biscuits added a nice crunchy texture to the dessert.

The Cheesecake. It was basically lemon cheesecake served with fresh strawberry coullis. Their version was the dense cheesecake with a nice and refreshing fresh flavor brought by the lemon and finely grated rind. It wasn't overly sweet and lovely with the strawberry sauce.

A fine , exquisite, and flavorful lunch indeed.

The downside of this visit:
For an executive lunch, waiting time between courses was a bit long. Understandable because each dish was prepared only when ordered. Attending staff though seemed lacking in number. It took some time for them to clear our used plates between courses. Moreso, it was difficult to find their presence for a refill of water or an extra order of soda. Not acceptable considering this venue.

The Pranzo Squisito is not a degustation course (where serving was bite-size/taste -size). However, I must say that Paparazzi's serving size was on the small side. A bit "bitin". Good thing they replenished our Focaccia bread. Finishing 2 bread servings was good enough to make us really stuffed.

Who would I recommend this food promo? Primarily to foodies who enjoy fine dining. Or perhaps, a good venue for some quiet and private business lunches. Since serving size is on the small side, I recommend to hearty eaters that they add dishes from Paparazzi's regular menu. They do serve awesome antipasti, pasta, and meat regular fares.

If you do plan on trying out the Pranzo Squisito, it is also recommended that you call and reserve in advance. That way, you are sure of getting a table for a good Italian culinary adventure.

A serious Italian restaurant if you are looking for something truly upscale and sophisticated. My cousin celebrated her Debut here. And my goodness the food from the appetizers, main course, up until the dessert, was all exquisite. I'm exactly sure with the prices but it's definitely in the thousands per person.
The place also has a really nice bar worth checking out.

A really class and hip Italian restaurant!

Father's day lunch

If you're looking for quality instead of quantity this is definitely the buffet for you. They had top quality lamb, rib eye, sea bass and jumbo shrimp.. The sides had just the right seasoning/flavor nothing that over powered the main dishes.

They also had a pasta bar, i loved the mushroom alfredo. Stay away from the ravioli. My dad was eating the ravioli while i was attempting to take a break till my next plate. I asked him if it was any good. He didnt want to say, he eventually said you can just try some from my plate, oh wow, thanks dad! He gives me his critique after my violent reaction. It was soo mushy and the stuffing was uhh, mushy too. 128078 But honestly i didnt care cause i had all the lamb i could eat and in my book it couldnt get any better than that. 128513

The dessert station had around 7 options plus mixed fruits, i loved everything, nothing was super sweet except the fruits of course.

1700++ per head.

Happy father's day! 128522

Upon the recommendation of a good friend, we made our way to Paparazzi. Most of the time, we only eat at Senju or Summer Palace but we were not disappointed with this lovely Italian restaurant.

Chef Roberto Cimmino has done a superb job with the menu and has invigorated the restaurant with his youthfulness.

I started out with the polipo, which is an octopus carpaccio. It was fresh and citrusy. My main was the "36." It's handmade multigrain lasagna made of duck egg yolk, with kurobuta pork belly, wagyu ragout, porcini mushroom, buffalo mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bad for my coronaries but oh so good.

The tiramisu was excellent. And I say this with no exaggeration because I am difficult to please when it comes to dessert.

Do drop by! If you're up for it, ask the Chef to whip you up something special even.
