Patar White Beach

Looking for a place to spend all year round summer. Hit Northern part of the Philippines, Bolinao. Patar White Beach is a place where you can appreciate two bodies of water, where river Meets the Sea. Water is crystal clear and waves are tranquil. Best time to swim early in the morning and early in the evening where it is LowTide. The seashore is long enough for wonderful photoshoots and walk. Patar white beach offers affordable places to stay too. You don't have to book expensive hotels online (For Backpackers) You just have to be early when you want to find a good place to stay for overnight. But if you would like to stay for a while, I recommend a hotel accommodation which is just a click away. You can choose from the various hotels nearby. If you plan to cook your own food, i recommend that you buy some stuff from the Main Town Market since it is a 45min drive from Patar.

Patar beach can be found at the very end of patar road. There are a few resorts that offer cottages for the day and barbecue grills too but it was a bit too crowded for me. We arrived at around 930AM and there were already a lot of people swimming, playing etc.
At 300/cottage, anybody can go and rent. Well it's not actually a cottage more like benches and a table with a 'pawid' roof. I think the only upscale resort in the area is veue which is a little farther down the road and a bit pricey at 7k/night. There are also spots where you can pitch a tent and maybe spend the night. Not sure though how much it would cost.
It's a good beach for backpackers etc but not if you're looking for a bit of privacy and relaxation. I managed to take a photo in 5 seconds where weren't any people around. Another thing that alarms me here is the safety (belongings etc). Since it is a public beach, your stuff is not exactly safe. Not sure too if there are lifeguards around though there should be.
Bottom line is, we didn't stay. We were supposed to but seeing the number of people and lack of facilities, we just decided to head back to the resort.

One of the best thing in the Philippines. You are always one step away from the beautiful beaches like the white sand beach in Bolinao, Pangasinan.

I love going to the beach, one of my favorite is our Patar Beach getaway in Bolinao.

Abrac beach or more commonly known as Patar beach - it was our last stop, Located at the tip of Brgy. Patar in Bolinao, Pangasinan. Rustic feel cottages, fine white sand, and crystal clear water compliments the breathtaking view of the West Philippine sea.

We arrived at Patar Beach on a Saturday afternoon which is usually the place's peak hour. It is a public beach but you need to pay an entrance fee of Php50.00 per person and Php50.00 for parking fee (some say if the locals are in good mood or if you're lucky enough you can skip the entrance fee). They also offer cottages which you can rent for Php1000.00 to Php1600.00, overnight swimming/events is also available to beach goers.

They say that the sunset in Patar Beach is a must see in Bolinao - and Yes, it was! One of the best sunset I've ever seen - Golden sun, picturesque color of the sky and the glittering sea calms as the tide rises, so picture perfect! It's truly God's beautiful creation.

Indeed, Patar Beach is one of the beaches in the country that offers a magnificent view of the sunset.

Patar Beach is a public beach towards the end of Pangasinan. It's a stretch of fine whitish-yellow sand with rock formations. Sand is not as fine as that of Boracay but not as rocky as that in Batangas. Walking barefoot is not a pain. I love examining beach sand and I found the sand in Patar with specs of mostly yellow and cream with some notes of white and pink.

It's not our first time in Bolinao and Patar Beach. If there was |ooloo in 2010 when we first visited, I would have rated Patar Beach a perfect 1108811088110881108811088️ But now, it has changed so much that I can only give it 110881108811088️.

So let me tell you my story.

In 2010, there were already a lot of resorts in Bolinao but Patar Beach was not so crowded yet and not so commercialized. No parking fee, just a few huts selling souvenirs, shower and bathroom for free, cottages for only 100 Php, rock formations in the middle of the sea, clean water, clean beach, long shoreline and generally relaxing place to spend your day. It can get crowded, yes, but not too much even in the middle of summer.

Fast forward to 2016, it has changed and I felt so sad about it. It's been so commercialized though not to the extent of restaurants and bars along the beach. Parking fee for 50Php, cottages not less than 300Php, overnight huts for 7k per night, rock formations gone, dirty beach because of trash, water not so clean any more, shoreline dotted with more huts and cottages and lots of vendors! If you need to use the loo, you have to pay. If you need to wash the sand out of your body, you need to pay. Maybe because of the long weekend, there were a lot of people and locals took it as a chance to profit.

Anyhow, I hope people who visit the beach will be responsible enough to keep it clean. I also hope that the government, or whoever manages the collection of fees there will provide trashcans and promote cleanliness in any way possible. Coz it's true, you won't see any trash bins around.

Isn't it sad when beautiful places get exploited? Urgh

Another shot at Patar Beach featuring the big waves early today and the fine sand. It is low tide once again and you can find yourself walking to those rock formations from afar. Accommodations are cheap beat the public beach with just nipa huts and typical kubo accommodations but worth the experience.

Patar White Beach is a promising destination in Bolinao, Pangasinan. This is worth the long travel time. Took us 4 hours from Baguio. But a must to visit in case you find time. Their sand is white maybe not as fine in Boracay but better than the Laiya, Batangas. Their sand is perfect for building san castles or burying a friend under. They have a great view of the sunset, and on low tides, you can walk to the middle and the waves are barely there. Great rock formations too and big waves. Better and bigger waves than the ones I saw in La Union. The place can be crowded during holidays and peak season but you can own it during lean times. For beach lovers, this should be added to your list of must go. They also have waterfalls, caves and lighthouse in Bolinao.

It was packed when we went there because it was a sunday. You'll need a car or rent a PUV to get to the beach. There's no entrance fee if i remember it correctly.

There are several huts you can stay at and tindahan to buy food and drinks. There are also tiangge so you could buy pasalubong or if you forgot some swimming gear or wear 128540

This is one of the many travels that I have fond memories of.

From island hopping around the Hundred Islands to sleeping overnight on a raft in front of Patar Beach to eating fresh oysters accompanied with some acoustic music 128522

That time that we went, the area was not yet crowded. Untouched, not commercialized. ⛱

Good memories. 128524

When we drove to Bolinao, all I had in mind was the resort we're checked in. Unfortunately, their private beach (as gorgeous as it can be) was low tide. So, no swimming in the beach.... 128534

Then, I search nearby places thru looloo and I saw this beach. Wazed our way there and this what welcomed us - white sand, clear water, strong sun rays and the crowd. Haha! Hence, just a photo as souvenir and bolinao shirts. hihi..

Anyway, the locals there offer island hopping for a few hundreds but we weren't able to try it (sad 128532)..

Our 6 hours travel time became a 9-hour drive because our driver was a noob. Yah! He didn’t know the right way to Patar Beach and we made several U-turns and asked several locals to guide us. A policeman even stopped us because our driver was not wearing his seatbelt. We were all grumpy and tired.

We reached Patar Beach at dusk after a long bumpy ride and this serene view welcomed our group. All our complaints were washed away by the waves.

Philippine sunsets never cease to amaze me! This one on the coast along the stretch of Patar Beach is no exception. It ranks as one of the most beautiful I've seen. We were lucky to have this part of the beach to ourselves. The horizon goes as far as the eye can sea. The white sand, while not as fine as Boracay, is equally alluring.

My little man AJ could not help but ask his gazillion "why" questions. From "why is the sun dying?" to "why are the crabs scared?". And my all the favorite, "why is the why?" 128540 Go figure!

I went here one year in April and the beach was very crowded, this time though there was no one in sight! Had the whole beach to ourselves haha. A boat driver offered us 500p to take us to some other secluded island, which we got to explore. Nice place to relax and BBQ by the beach, but be sure to bring sunblock so you don't burnt like I did.

The next best thing in north could be found in Bolinao, Pangasinan. Turquoise- colored water, fine sand, and away from crowd. A perfect place for your next relaxing and budget travel. No major development in the area aside from few resorts near the beach. Most accommodation here are kubo style. Visit BoliNOW! 128077🏻
