I have always been a fan of Gringo so I might be biased about their chicken. But Peri Peri is also a good alternative. What sets them apart is their wide variety of sauces, however their chicken serving varies. Sometimes a little big, sometimes too small. Plus the inconsistent the size of their sidings as well.
I usually liked the breast part of the chicken but what I received is the rib part which has minimal chicken meat. It tasted okay, not so much of the flavoring but it becomes good when paired to their sauces. The mozzarella cheese sticks are good with the enough cheese filling to be stretched out! Plus their marinara sauce is great!

Service was fast, and the place is not crowded on a Thursday evening. So I have to stay it was an overall good dining experience, but it can be better.

If you're a fan of anything chicken, then Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken is a must-visit! Food is flavorful and price is affordable. My friend and I ordered the Sao Paolo (1/2 chicken with two sides) and Jalapeño Fries. We also availed of the bottomless iced tea and unlimited soup combo worth P99 for every P250 meal purchase.

Overall Rating: 4/5

--> Sao Paolo (P355)
For the side dishes, we've chosen hummus and java rice. I just say that the chicken is one of the best Peri-Peri that I've had. It's not too spicy and rubbery. Size is for sharing but the 1/2 chicken seems like a half of a spring chicken. Nevertheless, taste-wise, this is a winner. The hummus and java rice were okay. However, the hummus was served on its own, without pita bread. I suggest you pair it with an appetizer. Good thing my friend and I ordered the Jalapeño fries.

--> Dips
We went for the BBQ, Cajun and garlic brew. Plus points for unlimited dips. I liked garlic brew the most while my friend stuck with Cajun. The BBQ dip remained untouched.

--> Jalapeño Fries (P85)
We liked the tartar sauce that came with it. We also used the hummus as dip. For P85, this one spells s-u-l-i-t.

--> Soup
When we visited this branch, they only had Chicken and Broccoli soup. Wanted to try out the pumpkin soup though. I prefer broccoli over the chicken. You can try both and the waiter was kind enough to replace our soup bowl. :)

--> Price
The food is reasonably priced. This is by far the most affordable Peri-Peri chicken I've had. We only paid P588 in total and that includes the 10% service charge.

--> Service was okay. It was pretty crowded when we went there so it's understandable that the waiters were busy and weren't that hands-on. I appreciate the fact that from the start, they already said that it's self-service when it comes to getting drinks and dips.

--> I recommend this place for those who are looking for great food and casual ambiance. Even though the place was crowded during our visit, there were enough tables for everyone. We opted to eat inside but if you're the alfresco type, you can eat outside too. Overall, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken deserves a second visit. Or even a third. Will definitely go back. 128522

I spotted this newly opened restaurant when we were in Greenbelt to watch a movie. I was so happy since I heard a lot about this place and finally they have a branch so close to me!

I immediately planned for me and my boyfriend to eat here on our date the next day. So we arrived at around 12nn and the place was packed. It must be really really good for it to be this popular.

We were assisted to our seats inside the restaurant and we were there for awhile raising our hands to say our orders when finally a server approached and told us to wait. I told myself, if a server comes and tells me to wait again, we're leaving. To cut the story short we've been waiting around 15 minutes (or more) before we were entertained. It's frustrating.

Their menu isn't that complicated. The decision-making is just about which set and sides to get and what size of chicken to get. There are also other items like pasta. So here are our orders: sao paolo and astrud.

•1/2 Peri-Peri Chicken•2 sides•
I chose mashed potatoes and garlic java rice for the sides, but I was informed when my order was served that the mashed potato wasn't available. So, I had the fries instead and I was given that right after. I found the chicken okay. There's nothing really special about it, the difference will just depend on the sauce you choose. The fries were soggy.

•Crispy Fried Fish Sticks•1/4 Chicken•Corn and Carrots•Java Rice•
Just three pieces of fish fillet sticks that was half breading. I didn't appreciate it that much.

For a person, I think the 1/4 chicken is enough especially if you're getting their java rice because it's really heavy. Oh, and they also have free soups you can get from a counter at the back, where the sauces are. The flavors of the soup are chicken (in the pictures) and pumpkin (I didn't get to try this). Everything is self-service.

•Mesquite BBQ• smoky, sweet, tangy
•Sweet Soy• sweet, teriyaki style
•Garlic Brew• garlicky, spicy
•Chillin' Peppa• fiery & hot
•Hoisin Sesame• this was my favorite. It tasted a lot like the peanut sauce of Aristocrat.
•Honey Pinakurat• Filipino spiced Vinegar
•Harissa Exotica• exotic blend of spices
•Cajun Remoulade• spiced mayonnaise

I loved the setup of the place. One side had lots of different, warm colored bottles with figurines of chickens. The walls are designed with bricks, and the furnitures and floors all wooden, and light bulbs all over the place.

Overall I can say that this was worth the try especially since it's not that spendy, but I think they need to improve on their service.
