This used to be one of the first restaurants that served Persian cuisine. But over the years this place has deteriorated so much.

Upon entering you will immediately notice the gloomy atmosphere. The place is dark with a characteristic musty smell. The staff seem bored and innatentive. Instead if greeting you they are all glued to the TV watching a noontime show.

The food is awful. Plating is pathetic and the taste is unpleasant. The keema and the kebab were both epic fails.

I give this place 128078128078128078128078128078.

A few days ago, Abe C asked me ago which Mediterranean restaurant I prefer. I was a bit stumped as none seem to stand out. I like shawarma in general especially pairing it with yogurt sauce. But another dish close to my heart is borek. And I love the one from Persiana. 10084

Hello, Persiana.

This not so popular Persian restaurant is not so unpopular at all when the moon and stars appear. With its attractive beer promos, yuppies and feeling yuppies flock the place.

But I come here for its delectable Beef Borek (Php70 for 6 pieces). When hungry, I also order Chicken Shawarma (PHP65, small | PHP125, large) and Buttered Rice (PHP35).

Service was never slow here and my food arrives within the 10-15 minute mark making it a great spot for those quick meal breaks.

Beef borek is always a great (and rather heavy) appetizer. Juicy ground meat stuffed inside crunchy pita and drowning in addicting yogurt sauce... What's not to love?

The chicken shawarma is also just as succulent and flavorful with its slight tinge of sourness.

I think I finish one bottle of yogurt sauce every time I visit this place.

If you're around the area, do give this place a try.

The beef (tapa style) in the Shawarma Rice lacks the m distinct mediterranean flavor; their garlic sauce saved the meal.

Despite its sad-looking facade, my officemates and I wanted to give this a shot. The restaurant was still closed way past its declared opening time of 11am. Oh, did I mention that there was a delivery (?) motorcycle parked inside? Classy.

As coached by one staff member who was pulling her hair up into a ponytail, another person initially told us that they still had to "spray" the place before opening. To say that they were obviously unprepared to start working that day would be an understatement.

When we asked why they were still closed beyond 11am, they just shrugged it off, "Ngayon lang po 'yan."

*slow clap*
The unprofessionalism blew our minds!

Persiana is a mediterranean restaurant with an identity crisis. The restaurant design, both exterior and interior, does not at all look and feel mediterranean. Even the menu isn't enteriely mediterranean. There were American and Italian items on the menu.

I actually felt disappointed at first, especially since it took quite some time before they actually served us our food.

But, when our order finally came, it was surprisingly good. I ordered the Lamb Kebab, while my wife ordered the Beef Kebab Meal. While we were satisfied, the dishes could still be improved to make them taste more mediterranean/Persian.

All in all, it was an ok dining experience.

Great tasting gyro!!! It has a generous amount of beef thats so tender and tasty, vegetables, soft pita and their addictive garlic sauce! Their moussaka, pita boreks and baclava are also really good! Plus, the prices are affordable.

I can't believe that I haven't submitted a review about Persiana! :)
This place is great! Have been enjoying their ox brain since forever! You know you have been patronizing a place when you've seen every renovation they did and how the food change it's taste and go back to how you've known it to be (good-bad-good). The kibda now has more onions than liver, BUT it isn't a bad thing as price is still the same (I think). We noticed that the ox brain had a price increase and it is acceptable as quality and serving is better.
You won't go wrong in this resto, from creating your own wrap, ordering their platters or even choosing a rice plate option.
Pictured in this post is the Persiana Platter, you get basmati rice, a pita bread, ox brain, beef kebab, grilled tomato & onion and kibda~all in for P275 128523 if am not mistaken.
And they serve cold bucket of beers!

Haaaaaaa! Sarap! Kthnxbye! 128584

I had a long day at work so, I asked my Paps and Mams to pick me up after working hours but, traffic jams ruined our supposedly 1-hr travel time.

The three of us decided to grab dinner 'cause it's already past 8 in the evening.

We were just around the perimeter of Kapitolyo, aka Little Maginhawa, and decided to go to Mamita's lets-try-it stop, Persiana (Pioneer)! 9786

We had Caesar's Salad, Goliath-sized Roast Chicken Gyro Shawarma for each of Paps and Mams, Goliath-sized Roast Beef Gyro for me, and Pita with Beef & Hummus. 128076

The food were incredibly great!!! 128134 The itsy-bitsy downside of this food hub is that, their service and assistance is too slow and a little bit poor. 128524

We only paid Php 780 pesos for everything. Not bad for a full tummy. 128176128076

To sum it up, this is a MUST-TRY! 128523
