Props if you spot Jon Santos and Ricky Davao in this crowd 128521

My friends and I watched Ako si Josephine in its last week and the theatre was almost filled to the brim on a rainy Thursday night.

It still looks new, only a few years since it was completed. It's a decent three-storey building in the middle of a quiet neighborhood off E Rodriguez. It's actually quite dark and somewhat scary on the road going there, better if you are dropped by a car instead of walking there at night.

The theater itself is more like a two-floor blank slate. There are no permanent chairs at the ground level, to allow for flexibility in the relatively small and cozy space. The second floor is actually four bleacher rows with only a bar of steel between you and injury - be careful! It's built for the usual productions staged in community theater that PETA is usually associated with.

Sound is quite ok but it can get loud near the speakers.

It's been years since I last saw a play and this was worth it. We saw Rak of Aegis and we enjoyed every moment of it. It was funny and a treat for the eyes.

Parking is pretty limited. You can opt to have your car valet for 150PHp.

We went here to watch Rak of Aegis. I knew the theatre would be small, just didn't know it would be that small. But anyway, Rak of Aegis is awesome.

Considering that we live just a stones throw away from this place, its a gem to have found ourselves enjoying a play here. The theater is small, narrow, claustrophobic ...however, it serves its purpose. It adds personality, character to the show.

We tremendously enjoyed watching the socio-political "3 Stars and a Sun" featuring songs of the late Francis Magalona.. I got mesmerized by the acting, singing and the fluidity of it all.

Kudos to the Directors, actors and actresses. I am also happy about how courteous the ushers were the night we watched.

After the play, couldn't help singing 127908127932 tropang gising, tropang gising sing....mga praning, mga praning ning...hahaha 1279179786128077🏻

They are still showing til March I think. Why don't you go and catch it? You might end up loving it too 9786128077🏻

Watched Rak of Aegis almost a year ago with Yina M and Neil R! 128514

We were lucky because the cast that day were well-known theater actors (ie the Seña couple and Cacai). I wish they'd do another run soon! I will definitely watch again.

This is my favorite theater so far. I love how it's so intimate and that the cast usually interacts with the audience during the show. The biggest problem is the parking, so -1 star for that.

Definitely one for the books!128588🏻

I finally saw Rak of Aegis with my parents tonight!128515 We have been meaning to watch it forever and I'm glad we were finally able to do so!128077🏻

PETA is a pretty small theater. Having a small stage, acoustics were not a problem. But it was not an issue, since the sound system was working perfectly anyway... The theater was cool (a shawl is enough to keep you cozy) and the seats were confortable enough... It definitely had an intimate feel... The place had a very laid back vibe. People were in casual attire, though I maintain that wearing shorts to watch any play is just a no-no.128581🏻

By the way, please remember that there are no seat reservations, so come in a bit early... Plus parking is also lacking, another reason to come early if you don't fancy a workout...

This play was just wonderful! The actors were all very good and the script was hilarious and timely.128077🏻 You really have to keep yourself from singing along with them! The only catch was that we were getting wet from the rain and splashed on due to the dancing from where we were seated. But it was a small price to pay to watch this brilliant story unfold before us... An instant favorite among the productions I've seen...

If you haven't seen it yet, it is a definite must! It's the longest running local production for a great reason! People just can't get enough of it!128077🏻

Last night, I watched the 8pm Rak of Aegis show at this theater. I arrived at around 7:30 pm, just enough time to line up for seats. I was a little bit hungry, so I bought a Hotdog sandwich from one of the food stalls at the ground floor. Aside from hotdogs, they also sell siomai, fruit juices (Avocado and Mango), pasta, pancit and some candies just enough for a starving person who was late to grab an early dinner with her friends (just like me!).

Anyway, the theater is just small but the set for the show was decorated well considering its limited space. Rak of Aegis is an amazing show featuring songs of the Aegis band like Luha, Basang-basa sa ulan, Halik and many more. The show was able to insert other current day concepts which will keep the audience entertained. The overall experience was awesome and Aicelle was great as the lead actress (haha!)

Fourth run of Rak of Aegis and we're finally able to see it! Loved the show. Very relevant. Went to see it with Lark C Chachi L Rachel T Em J and 6 other friends.

Lights and sound system were all good. Stage area was nice. Literally, may baha on stage and they had some rain equipment. Those near the stage probably got wet too during the show.

The theater was just small though. There aren't even seat reservations. You just choose an area when buying the tickets, so, you have to come early if you want to choose good seats. Since the place is small, it's really cramped and you don't have to worry about getting too comfortable or getting sleepy as there are only mono-block chairs.

I recently watched Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady The Musical here, my first time back at the PETA theater after a really long time. I usually avoid watching plays here because it's really far from me and the traffic is horrible. But thanks to Waze, we made it in record time on a Friday night.

The building is pretty well maintained and clean. The staff and security guard were all friendly and very helpful. I love the fact that it's a small theater, making any productions staged here into a cozy intimate affair. You can sit anywhere on the balcony and still have a decent view of the stage, and the actors won't seem like ants. No need for binoculars here! Of course, a small theater can limit the props and sets that can be used, but that only means that the production crew becomes more imaginative which can lead to surprisingly good results, including having part of the cast acting from somewhere in the audience area - which is pretty neat if you ask me. It really makes you feel like you're IN the play too, not just an outsider watching.

The only problem I have here (aside from the distance, which can't be helped) is the lack of parking spaces. Many people just park along the streets, though I just discovered that there is a public basketball court next door with several parking spaces - I think you can probably park there as an alternative. I'm going to try that next time.

Had a blast when we watched rak of aegis! The building is so nice, the comfort rooms are well-maintained, security is awesome, on the clock cctv and the staff are corteous and helpful, problem though is parking but there are tanods who manned the streets and they are very corteous too and will really let you feel safe even if the play ends up late and you need to walk down the eymard deive for a cab, really a nice place to watch plays :)
I was referred by Kuya J to join the #loolooiPhone6giveaway!

I never watch a same musical twice.... However, rak of aegis was really a very very good show. (Was, since season ended already)
Reasons:
1.) local actors- so talented! So gifted! So humble!
2.) plot- story shows the resiliency of pinoys despite of hardships and challenges in life
3.) songs- all songs are from the band Aegis. I have learned to love their songs since 1999 since the lyrics are so realistic and simple to understand..... Not jologs ,but very inspirational.
4.) venue- not so large, that is why you feel that the place is cozy and just like a normal auditorium....

Overall: 12/10!!!!! Will watch it again if they have a re-run!

[ sorry, no pic :( ]

Liked this place so much though. It's so intimate. And far easier to interact with the people. Plus, doesn't just have a stage in front. When i watched Rak of Aegis last night, the stage was up to the middle to the crowd and there was flood and rain - both instrumental to the story.

My 4th time to watch a musical play here in PETA and it has alway been a treat. Like a chameleon, this unassuming place can turn its stage to whatever its whims pleases. It housed awesome and groundbreaking local musical plays in the country.

Me and a friend was able to get tix for Rak of Aegis. I love how filipino talents can make you laugh out loud and at the same time convey socio economic issues the country is facing. Love love Rak of Aegis. Two thumbs up!

Definitely a 5 star rating for PETA theatre!

Most of the show at PETA PHINMA Theater are originally Filipino made. Even though it is small you will see the beauty and good structures of the theater.
