I've had dinner at Phat Wednesday night and I was so impressed i had to go back. This time i brought Grams along.

I got the usual Spicy Pho and got the fried rice, pork belly satay and spring rolls for Aling Crising.

Com Chien (Php 295). Vietnamese style fried rice with chicken prawns and squid. Grams loved this! This is what she said:

"Ang sarap ng kanin, malasa kahit wala ng ulam."

Crispy Egg Rolls (Php 120, 3 pieces, Php 195, 5 pieces). The Vietnamese can do no wrong with spring rolls - crunchy, savory and addicting. Grams liked this too, she liked it too much she asked to buy some more for takeaway.

Pork Belly Satay (Php 130, 3 pieces). This is mediocre as the pork is not as tender as i hoped for. The flavor is on point though.

I am glad i went back and i am ecstatic that the pickiest eater in my bloodline enjoyed Vietnamese Grub.

Peace Out!

Phat Pho is not a newbie nor an old timer in the restaurant scene. It is safe to say that they are in the puberty stage of the foodiesphere. I am not well-versed with Vietnamese fare but i know delicious when i taste one. It all started with Sriracha, lingered a lil with Banh Mi and ended with Pho. That's how my affinity with Vietnamese food started.

Anyway, back to Pretty Hot and Tasty (yup, that's PHAT for the layman). I found myself giving in to Sunk Investment Fallacy one night and Phat Pho saved me! I fooled myself into thinking i can endure long lines for a burger. I failed and ended up having a really satisfying dinner at Phat.

Grub.

Chicken Satay (Php 130). I love skewered treats! This is right off my alley. The chicken is tender and bursting with flavor. The crushed peanuts adds an interesting flavor contrast.

Pho Xao (Php 315). Wok-fried noodles with chicken, prawns, egg, oyster sauce and fresh herbs.

I guess this is Vietnam's answer to Pad Thai. They look mighty similar in appearance but different in flavor. The difference lies in the usage of sauce. Good old fashioned oyster sauce made the noodles savory.

Bún Bò Hué (Small Php 225, Large Php 395). Pork and beef based broth and tendon with pork knuckle and braised beef. This is Pho-tastic!!! The star of the show is the Pho-mazing broth. I taste the beefy flavor on each sip and yes, the red chillies made it even better. The beef is fall-off-the-bone tender. And i am happy to report that my hunger motivated me to use chopsticks and i succeeded!

Wanna have a Pretty Hot and Tasty meal? Visit Phat Pho, they have two branches - Power Plant for the Makati dweller and Serendra for the Non Makati Dweller...har har 128512

Best tasting beef pho I have had. Bahn mi was filled to the brim and baguette had crunch. Fried rice and chicken satay was real good too. And their prices are within reach as good as what you can have in Saigon. Im glad they had branched out in Powerplant one of my go to malls, quite hard for me to go to their branch in Serendra.
