I was craving for Vietnamese cuisine and ended up disappointed yesterday. This location was a bit ran down, that should’ve been a sign for me.

Pho Bac’s version of Fresh Spring Rolls was bland, and its watery peanut sauce didn’t do much as well to make it appetizing. The Seafood Curry was worse with its deep fried dory drenched in oil, without much meat on them. Wait staff also misinformed me that it has squid.

For dessert, its supposed best selling Black Gulaman with Chia Seeds was another bad order. This bowl had no taste and was boring to eat from the start.

I was a bit disappointed after all the praises I've heard from my Aunt about this place. The Four Season noodles was ok, while the Cambodian noodles was tasteless. There's so much water in the pomelo salad but the pomelo itself was so dry! My sister ordered a seafood curry and told me it was also blunt. Spareribs in lemon grass was only half-cooked, I think. Meat was still too tough!

If you've had some real pho, you don't come here to get the same experience. Definitely far cry from a real one but it's not so bad for the price. The fresh rolls were dry & the beef stew lacked favor- I've had better versions from their other Makati branch.
