If you don't like the strong taste of cilantro and the crunch of bean sprouts, then maybe you shouldn't. But No, you should actually!
For those who habent, you can ask the server to adjust the flavor so its more suitable to your palate (although like most non-Pinoy food, this is already a toned-down version of the real deal).
I recommend their tendon soup! All the collagen! But if you're ot into that, they have the regular sliced meat as an option. Its a good comforting soup when you're having lunch alone. Be advised that pho is nowhere near the rich and creamy soup of ramen. They have a nice location, good space, almost always not crowded.
Php 300 - 400.

Pho Nam, Chin, Gan, Bo Vien (Flank, Brisket, Tendon, and Meatballs Pho) by Pho Hoa: YEY.

It is worth mentioning that their meatball (with shitake mushroom) is the bomb.

My ultimate comfort food. Vietnamese rice noodles in clear broth made from beef flank and brisket beef bone simmered and spiced with different ingredients which includes star anise, cinnamon, ginger, onion.

With its deep beefy flavor and just the right amount of aromatic spices, the soup is already perfect (apologies for the exaggeration). However, adding the condiments, besides being an amusingly Asian thing to do, is an experience in itself.

Each order comes with a small plate of lemon, thai basil, beansprouts and red chili. You also have Shiracha (Hot Chili Sauce paste) and Hoisin (sweet bean paste) which you can mix in your soup depending on how you like it.

You have 2 options for bowl size, plainly but aptly labeled "small" and "large". The place is modern, even bordering on hipster. But luckily, they left their soup as traditional as possible.

If you're in a bad mood, just like I am most of the times, get the large bowl.

I ordered my usual - Grilled Pork and Fried Spring Rolls with Rice (Com Thit Nuong Cha Gio) - and it was really good. Despite the busy lunch hour, they were served within an acceptable time frame. I like how the grilled pork was tender but the spring rolls were a bit dry.

I love Vietnamese Food. A LOT. I enjoy watching videos about their food as well as videos of different recipes. I can spend hours just looking at different photos of the spring rolls, pho, and banh mi. 128525128525

My friends were able to visit Vietnam already and I envy them. 128557 I love asking about their trip, I enjoy hearing how fun and awesome their experience and adventures were. Hearing it makes me want to book a plane ticket. Makes me want to go to Vietnam soon!! But for now, all I can do is enjoy the Vietnamese food available here in Manila. 128557128529

My friends and I had lunch here one stressful work day (this is a very late review and I can't remember the day/date anymore, sorry! 128517).

We ordered the following:

GOI CUON (Vegetarian, Shrimp or Pork) - 155php
- fresh spring rolls!!! This one is very light yet filling. I enjoy eating this on its own or with a tiny bit of Sriracha. There's a peanut something sauce but i don't really like the taste of it so I don't usually dip the spring rolls in it. 128517

CHA GIO (Vegetarian or Pork) - 230php
- fried spring rolls w lettuce are simply the best! I like this one more than the fresh ones. I swear I can eat this all the time and never get tired of it. 128541

GOI CA - 220php
- Viet Chicken Salad. I loved and enjoyed how light and refreshing this salad was! The veggies were fresh, the cucumber was crunchy. There were a lot of carrots and chicken added. Even without the dressing, the salad was already good on its own but the salad dressing made it tastier and so much better. I love the roasted sesame dressing but this one's really refreshing and "guiltless". 128517128513

PHO 50 - PHO NAM, CHIN, GAN, BO VIEN - 295php (small) and 315php (large)
- the main event! Pho with flank, brisket, tendon and meatballs. 128518 Ohmy this was good! Really! I loved how clean the taste was. The beef and meatballs added were generous enough. I enjoyed adding a lot of Sriracha and lemon. I love ramen (A LOT) but I think there would be moments when I'd rather have a nice warm bowl of Pho instead of ramen. I like how simple and not too complicated the taste is. Not salty or too overpowering. 128154
