New and improved Ping Yang Hotpot at Adriatico! The last time we wanted to dine here, it was closed for renovations so we ended up somewhere in Remedios Circle instead.

Now, they're finally open and it's a huge improvement from their previous interiors. They now have brighter lights and everything looks cleaner and more vibrant. I think they also opened up the kitchen so it gives the place an illusion that it's bigger.

When they were getting our orders, I asked if there was a change in the prices, and the server said there was a bit of a price increase. 128534 Ping Yang can be a bit pricey when you're comparing it to a buffet hotpot because our bill for 5 people reached to around Php 3,000. But we were extremely full and the food we ordered was around the usual we order for 6 people. (Missing Bernisse C! 128541)

They have wet towelettes on the table when you arrive, but if you're not going to use it, maybe you can try to ask if you can return it. They charge Php 3 for each. They also charge for the sate sauce separately. 128517 Which is probably why the bill gets so high.

If you are in for healthy lunch/dinner then this is the place... Shabu-Shabu specialty. But if can try also the crispy fried dumplings, coz it's awesome! For those who can't do without rice, the shrimp fried rice is a must try. 128522

I tried their hakao, wanton brisket noodles and fried taopao.

Beef brisket and wanton noodles is divine! Hongkong noodles with beef and wanton and super flavorful broth. The serving is big enough to share. :-)

Hakao was a fail though. Looked and tasted more like kuchay than hakao.

Fried taopao is too oily. I wish they used paper towels to let the oil drip for a bit. Also, a bit of sweetened oyster sauce will be nice to go with it.

For hot pot lovers out there. This restaurant is hands down the best hot pot place in town. We have been a loyal customer for years. You should try their fried dumplings and fried tofu skin. The soup in their hot pot is perfect! You can have both spicy and plain soup. Try their nylon shells, fresh wanton, and fat beef slice when you order what you want to cook. A must try!

My sister and I had our dinner here last night, too bad my phone was dead so no pictures 128532 and I already had my dinner an hour before 128532128532

➡ PLACE
the place really looked old but well ventilated and quite spacious. It seemed like the pieces of furniture were not replaced since it's opening. It has an 80's look. LOL

➡ FOOD
The foods here are really great. We had siomai, yang chao rice and sweet and sour pork on their "cooked" menu and nylon shell, squid balls, pork cuts, watercress, pechay, and etc. for the hot pot. The nylon shell is really just superb. I really like the taste and I think this one's the best seashell food out there.

➡ SERVICE
What I really love about this place is the service. As soon as we stepped in, someone welcomed us and asked us where would we like to be seated. The servers are really attentive. They know when to offer help. It seems like they can read your mind! They constantly declutter the table as well to keep your area clean. They offer their help to increase or decrease the heat when they see it's too high or too low. They are knowledgeable on the food in their restaurant as well.

➡ PRICE
Cheaper than the hot pots you find in the mall but absolutely has a better food and service.

When you bring a car, park in front of the restaurant. Coz when you park beside it there'll be a parking guy who will ask for a "P40 Flat Rate" (daig pa ang ibang mall) so we asked for a receipt and he said cannot provide. We gave him P20 instead. For the parking guys out there please don't name the price. We would've given him a higher "tip" if he hadn't name the price.

If you love hot pot, this is the place for you!

I've been eating at Ping Yang ever since I can remember! The place used to be called "Sea Palace" and I don't know why they changed it. I do remember eating here still in my high chair though. Haha.

For years and years, this is my family's go-to place. I'm not a fan of their dimsum but I can enumerate our favorites.

SHRIMP FRIED RICE - This rice is seriously sooo good, you'll want more and think why all fried rice does not taste like this. The flavor is just fantastic and OMG I'm drooling just thinking about it.

FRIED DUMPLINGS - Best. Fried. Dumplings. Ever. - nuff said

FAT BEEF - I suggest cooking this as you eat it so that it does not get overcooked. Don't throw the whole batch into the pot.

We also love their homemade Squid balls and Polanchay (chinese pechay I think).

They have a saté barbeque sauce that you mix with their soy sauce. Throw in some chopped garlic, leeks, chilis and be prepared for one of the most satisfying meals ever.

I've honestly been eating here for more than 20 years, it's practically my favorite restaurant. Mind you, we eat the same thing again and again.

Do try this hole-in-the-wall Chinese resto and let me know how you like it!
