The resort is huge and beautiful. But it also seemed like it has seen better days. The lagoons are all man-made and uses water from the beach so it's also salty.

Service is bad, contrary to what I've heard before about their hospitality. Service is slow and not accommodating at all. The service cart to bring you around the resort takes too long to pick guests up. Their checkin time is 3pm! And you have to wait in their extremely hot lobby as its not air conditioned.

Food in the restos are expensive and nothing special. The buffet breakfast spread was also disappointing. Only thing I enjoyed were the bacon and fresh mangoes.

However I loved their famous black lechon! It was truly delicious and tasty! I had several servings! Soooo good!

Their beach is not fit for swimming. Too many weeds, grass and rocks.

Im giving it 3 stars only for their lagoons and their black lechon.

If you want to relax and experience summer before the rainy days arrive, you may wantvto consider this resort. The place is really great with lots of outdoor and indoor activities you can do. They also have several restaurants to choose from. The food is surely delicious!

Not worth the money gor a one day stay! Check in is at 3 pm and water slide closses at 4 pm . And only opens at 10 am two hours before checkout. Food prices are very high for small portions . Its nice facilties but saltwater pools have alot of leaves and fine green algae in the water gross ! They make you sign a no outside food and drink agreement but i saw a family walk in with a stack of pizzas from pizza hut and no security or guest officer give a second look yet they are real intent on you signing that form when you check in. food is ok tasting nothing of gourmet. I wouldnt stay here for just a day you would need to stay a minimum of two days to get your to enjoy the place. Use your grabtaxi or private car because they add another 100 pesos for calling you a taxi 128128

I've never seen as perfect as this place in the country, not to mention Amanpulo coz I haven't been there yet. Plantation Bay is one the hidden place in Cebu where everyone should visit. Yes, I called it hidden because I have a friend who was born and raised in Cebu but haven't seen this place coz according to her it's expensive to stay here.. But to tell you honestly, every single peso is worth it! Just so you know... I already wanted to stay here for good :) I do really Luuurveee this place!! I will come back here, I swear!

When in Cebu, plantation Bay is the place to relax. Its service is superb! I cannot complain. The moment i stepped inside the clubhouse, the staff pampered me all throughout. They carried my bags, check in was a breeze, took me to my villa in a golf cart, and handed me my basket of free goodies. I started touring the resort, checking out their vast array of amenities. They have a HUGE salt water pool and pockets of smaller freshwater pools everywhere. You can bike around the resort, or ride the kalesa to discover hidden pools and sites. Food in the resort is very good! The menu is dominated by local seafood. It's a bit expensive, but all worth it. Come prepared :)

Was an OK experience.
✔️ very nice ammenities (very nice view!)
✔️ accomodating staff (my mom had an asthma attack, the staff gave immediate medical assistance)
✔️ very spacious and has the best pools ever! (loved the lagoon!!!)
✖️ food was too expensive (focused on the presentation rather than the flavor)
✖️ far from the city (long commute but cabs are always available)
128077 Recommended if you are looking for a private luxury hotel. Perfect for family vacations and weekend getaways.
128078 Not advisable for backpackers or budget travellers. Duh!

Quite enjoyed my stay here a couple of years back! Water, water, water everywhere! Beautiful pools, lots of photo ops around the resort! I didn't really like the food here though... Plus it's so expensive!128563

We had our company outing last summer this year (2013) okay, first comment or probably sort of a rant, the rooms were not available not until late (very late) afternoon. How come rooms wont be available if guests had already told the hotel the time they'll be coming in? Second, well they have other activities such as archeries, arcade, indoor sports etc which is good since pools are in general, not just in plantation, are all the same. Me and my kiddo had a bonding time playing table tennis. Third, food is sooo expensive, but you folks got to try their seafoods since they're fresh and taste great a bit pricey though. Rooms are awesome i must add, regardless if you choose the expensive or cheaper rates.

On the side note, they sent us a cake here in our makati office, cant say if it's a thank you cake or im sorry cake sort of... But heck it was yummy. (Forgot what cake was it)

Tldr; if you have enough budget, try them out. It's one of the great places in cebu.

for a 5 star hotel.... i can say they have to do a general overhaul. we were there to attend a wedding. have to wait an hour to get into the shuttle in order to reach gilapagos...the rain was sooo heavy with strong winds but the crew did not bother to give us anything like an umbrella or just a towel to keep us warm. worst they couldn't give us a glass of water kay "gihugasan pa ang mga baso"(bang!). service was very poor. the event coordinator of the said resort was the worst. didnt even bother to lift a finger to do damage control....tsk tsk tsk! you turned the wedding into a nightmare...

Two words: POOLS EVERYWHERE! Haha. Whenever you wanna dip into the pool, just step right out your room and TA-DAH! There's already a pool infront of you. Lol. Take a few steps and tadaah! Another pool.. :))
Place was nice but I would say there are other resorts which are better. For the price that they offer, rooms were really simple. Food was not as expensive but not really of good quality. Drinks lack presentation and food's a bit small for the price. Service was veeeeerrry slow especially in their restaurants. Took them almost an hour to prepare and serve the food. And we were the only guests at that moment! Shuttle service even takes time. Lucky if you're with friends, coz chatting with them can stall the time. What if it were couples. Couples getting irritated. Hehe :)) hospitality-wise it was alright. Some are hospitable, some are not. For a 5 star resort, they have to restore the beauty of the place and work double time on their service. Because seriously, I'm not sure if I wanna go back there. Unless they do something abouf it,ofcourse. Sorry if review's a bit harsh but I've been to better ones and I'm a bit dissapointed with this one especially since it's 5 star. Maybe they should remove the NO TIPPING POLICY, just to give employees a little something to lighten them up after serving their guests.

5 stars goes to the friendly and attentive staff at the plantation bay & spa plus the fact that their no tipping policy. AS FOR FOOD and DRINKS at the resort (php150 for a coke!!! e.g.) food tasted so-so but not worth the price ul b paying it for. the price sucks big time!

"Strictly no tipping" seemed attractive. But when no one seem to care about you or your stay, you wished tipping was allowed.

Unique place. So so staff.

Very nice place if you have kids. Lots of pools. Food is quite expensive but good. Very far from restos if you'll eat out to save on food.

Only thing that kept me from giving them 5 stars was the late check in of 3pm. Also we had to wait long for them to pick us from our room to check out.
