I've been intrigued by the interior of this restaurant so I asked Cindy S if we could try this.

Poetry & Prose Patisserie not only serves pastries and desserts but also breakfast meals, sandwiches, pasta meals, and crepes. However for this visit, I only ordered something sweet. I had Prose (255php). It is a strawberry custard cheesecake with hazelnut brownie crust. This is so moist and very creamy. It actually tasted good but too heavy for a dessert.

I also had their hot chocolate (165php). I didn't enjoy this much. It's not so chocolatey. I should've ordered cappuccino instead.

Servers were accommodating. I liked their wall arts!

P.S. Since I've already tried their "Prose" cake, next time I'll have their "Poetry" cake. If the former is strawberry-inspired, I heard Poetry's main ingredient is mango. Interesting! 128541

[Coz Poetry & Prose is love, 2 reviews for you!]

I have never been fond of partying, clubbing or bar hopping. Some people say that I’m missing a lot. Maybe. But I am a-okay with that. It is just not for me. I don’t dance to *tugs tugs tugs* nor do I like to scream just to be heard. I am happy with being in a coffee shop or tea place and munch on some pastries and have a nice chat with friends. Fine, I'm a cat lady without a cat.

It has been a while since I last met my good friends A and I. I really enjoy being a third wheelwhen I’m with them.

This time, we decided to hold our bible study at Poetry & Prose Patisserie as A has been curious with its food and I have always wanted to try the pastries.

After a quick look at the menu, A went with the Baba au Rhum (PHP105) and a cup of tea(PHP125) while I ordered the BreadBasket (PHP275). I ordered a cup of Café Latte (PHP105), Financiers (PHP85) and MangoMousse (PHP255).

First served were our drinks.

My café latte was slightly sweet and the coffee’s taste wasn’t that strong. Perhaps I should have ordered cappuccino instead. However, I always order cappuccino. I wanted it to be stronger to have a better contrast with the sweet pastries.

Next served were the pastries.

The financier was delightful. It was dense and buttery. Yum! I find it a bit too heavy though as a snack.

The Mango Mousse was also yummy. I love the soft chiffon and the slightly tangy mango on top.

The lady fingers were baked well and added texture to the whole cake.

A had a hard time finishing soft brioche-like bread. It got so soggy in the end because of the rum.

I (not me) enjoyed his bread basket. Actually, for the price of PHP275, this is a steal. It is actually good for sharing.

I love Poetry & Prose. I will definitely be back for more. But I think if there will be more than 2 people, two tables are needed. We had a hard time having all our orders on our table.

I just love tea. (Okay, I love coffee more but I chose to give that up this lent.) Combine it with a new tea place and I'm practically someone you could easily drag. Add a bit of movie talk and I'll definitely be there. And that's the reason why I got to try Poetry & Prose Patisserie.

Why hello there, Poetry & Prose Patisserie.

F was already inside when I arrived and I felt so guilty for being 30 minutes late (but I had a good reason, I swear!). The place was pretty small and could sit around 15 to 20 people max. The server was pretty attentive as she gave me a menu as soon as I sat down.

I haven't had lunch yet when I arrived so I went for something filling. I got the Eggs Benedict (PHP355) and a pot of Jasmine Tea (PHP125). F ordered a salad with honey mustard dressing. (Yes, that made me feel a tad guilty ordering something heavier.)

Since there were only a few customers, service was pretty quick. I got my tea in less than 10 minutes (well, it was just a tea bag and water) and my dish arrived in less than 15 minutes. F's salad arrived at the same time as my Eggs Benedict.

My Eggs Benedict was scrumptious! I love poached eggs. The runny yolk on top of a warm English muffin and ham then drizzled with hollandaise sauce is just too divine! I could eat it every day! The side salad was great too. I just love tomatoes and the cubes of cheese added a different flavor to the whole dish.

F enjoyed his salad and these are his exact words, "I am biased towards cheese so I found the Gorgonzola bits giving the salad a good kick. They were also generous with the apple and orange slices. The honey mustard overpowered the taste. I also wish they had arugula leaves mixed in for variety."

It was a short stay in the quaint coffee/tea shop so we were not able to try the pastries. I'll definitely be back though for that.

Poetry and Prose is a french café located outside shangri la mall. The interior was very classy with it's white and black design and glass display of their dessert.

I had the tarte chocolat for P215, a decadent mix of chocolate brisée, Valrhona guanaja, chocolate ganache, and fleur de sel. While my friend had the Mille-Feuille for P165, a delicately-layered puff pastry and sweet pastry cream. The desserts were well presented, however imho it's a bit expensive as there is nothing extra ordinary with it's taste.

Service was good though.
