I found myself in the area and decided to have some good 'ol italian food.

Prego is right beside the Hyatt Casino. Seems like a fine dining place on the outside but the inside is actually more relaxed. The
Italian music playing in the background was a nice touch to the ambiance.

I had two of their recommended dishes for the day:

Aragosa alla Sarda 590php
Poached whole lobster, marinated with lemon and extra virgin olive oil topped with arugula, fresh tomatoes, and onions
And
Ravioli ai Funghi Porchini 540php
Mushroom-filled ravioli in porcini mushroom cream sauce

I first had bread to start my meal. Loved the flat bread, balsamic vinegar, and liver patè.

The butter poached lobster (salad) was a let down. When i asked the server if it was served out of the shell she said it was - that wasn't the case. The lobster had a funny taste like it wasn't fresh to begin with. It was also stringy and chewy because the chef overcooked it. Funny enough, i liked the arugula better than the lobster. The greens were crisp and the balsamic vinaigrette was rockin.

I had bigger hopes for the ravioli. It wasn't any better than the appetizer. The pasta was thick, and the mushrooms inside were blitzed beyond distinction. I personally don't like finely chopped mushroom; i think they lose the wonderful flavour and texture they innately have. I swear, i think i tasted canned mushrooms in there somewhere 128517 The cream sauce was good though - savoury, creamy, and the mushroom flavour really came through.

After the meal, i couldn't help but think ''maybe if i ordered something else..." Prolly next time ill try something else on the menu.

Service was pretty great. They were really attentive, polite, and efficient.

Even though i didn't enjoy the food as much, i did like the experience. I do hope food during my next visit would be better.

I was too hungry to take any pics but this place is great for a treat.

The complimentary bread was good with the three different sauces they served. Something to keep you busy til your order arrives, not to heavy either.

We ordered prosciutto and mango in a Parmesan basket (basket made out of toasted Parmesan) and the ingredients went incredibly well together. Salty, sweet and a hint of tartness.

Decided to indulge and ordered the steak with foie gras to share (minimum order of 200g when I went.) they cooked it to my favored medium, steak still juicy and when you slice through the tender meat, the wonderfully cooked spinach and potatoes absorb the leftover juices. Best veggies ever. Of course there's that decadence of the foie gras and it wasn't too cloying, a perfect accompaniment to the tenderloin.

I can't remember the Title since it was really long. Only thing I can remember was Tartufo and Truffle! 9996128514

A very simple pasta dish that has a distinct creamy mushroom flavor. Not much toppings but who cares as long as the rich truffle goodness is there. Loved it! 128525

Place is very elegant and is a bit intimidating from the outside. Prices are very reasonable though considering the ambiance. Everything is just prim and proper. 128513

The margherita was alright. The pasta is cooked right. Service is fast and crew is polite. Generous servings. Ambience is for family. Just needs more marketing for the store.

Steak was dry. 128542 same owner as L'Opera but L'opera is way better.

We did love the brocoli soup though.

After our disappointing meal at Erwin's Gastrobar, we decided to have a real dinner here at Prego. Ordered Caesar Salad, Seafood Pasta and Prego Pizza.

We liked the Pizza, it had generous servings of blue cheese which you could really taste and also the salami (we had them serve it separately sincey friend doesnt eat pork), the crust was crunchy but still had some chewiness to it.

The Caesar Salad was small and the dressing didnt seem to taste anything close to a Caesar dressing. Just dont order this.

Pasta was ok, typical seafood pasta in white wine sauce. Seasoned just right and the seafoods were tender.

Servers were accommodating and friendly.

Been meaning to write about this place weeks ago, but it wasn't listed yet. So this is basically a super-late post.

First impressions: place wasn't quite done yet when we dined. Yet there was a soft opening menu. And there was a makeshift kitchen by the dining area. The manager was honest enough to admit that the place wasn't quite there yet. These admissions may have made the less adventurous diner shudder and go someplace else. Yet, my hubby and I appreciated the honesty and decided to give this place a try.

We started things off with the octopus salad. It was fresh and the serving was quite generous. 128522 Next up was the calzone. It was really tasty! Thought it wouldn't be enough for my hubby and I (since we're both on the heavy side), but it surprisingly filled us up. We had a glass of red each to complement the dishes. As we were about to ask for the bill, we were surprised with a lovely dessert dish -- compliments of the owner/chef, who even went up to us, extremely apologetic of the state of the restaurant. Told him it was nothing and that we appreciated the honesty his staff showed us and thanked him for the dessert.

Would love to go back when things are already in full swing. Oh, and did I mention that it's a sister resto of L'opera? No wonder the staff was very professional. Bravo to Prego! 128077
