the kombi parked outside this cafeteria caught my attention so we decided to check it inside. it's a pretty small place with several parts of a vehicle ingeniously used as ornaments plus a display of several diecasts of the iconic car in a corner.

when we went there, the place was cramped we had to wait for a new table. unfortunately, there was no waiting area or a person at the reception who informed us that we have to wait for a free table.

when we saw a couple left their table, we immediately went to the table and sat there despite the fact it hasn't been cleaned yet. worse, when we asked the servers to clear the table for us, they ignored us until we decided to clear it ourselves and placed the dishes on an empty chair. that was the only time the servers got our attention.

getting our orders was a worse experience. i've been calling each server who passed by and asked if we can have the menu but again, we were unnoticed until i had to raise my hand and the guy at the cash register went to us to give us a menu. i repeat, twas a pretty small place that you can run elbows with the person sitting at the other table so it's impossible for the servers not to notice us.

it took us several minutes before somebody got our orders. we ordered nachos, hazelnut frappe and chocolate chip frappe which are allegedly their best-sellers. and it took them another 15 minutes before our orders were served. but i really commend the girls making the frappes because you can see them making frappes non-stop.

our nachos arrived first and twas almost finished when frappes arrived. the frappes were a complete snack by itself: it's complete with a drink, a doughnut or cookies, some chocosticks over oozing whipped cream. i give them credit for using only good ingredients: krispy kreme donuts and peppero. the krispy kreme boxes can be seen at the bar counter where frappes were made. so in a way, the frappe compensated the poor service we got.

perhaps i'll try to go there again if there were only a few people and will post another review if their service improved.

oh, and aside from the logo, i wasn't able to see a purple beetle.

Purple beetle was one of the Hey Cafes here in Lipa precisely for being a fun art-filled and unique style they embelish to their customers and indeed one of the best hang out places in town. Visited once and I was satisfied. Haven't visited again since I have lots of new places on the list to try and review in my hometown and the next. Haha!

Anyways, I went there with one of my closest friend and we ordered the following:

Lasagna roll 140
Baked macaroni 120
Crispy fries 60
Iced tea 45

Pastas we ordered was savory. Crispy fries was bland but was able to compensate with dips. Iced tea was usual. We haven't try their smoothies and other top notch on their menu since we don't have time to order everything that time. Hence we really just needed to catch up, we almost forgot to eat our food due to a lot of convos and topics that we needed to share with. 128517

I say it was one of the best tambayan in town. Although peak hours would really have lots of folks there but anyhow you can still enjoy the ambience there especially on their open mic performance nights for local poets and artists. I heard it was a first in town to offer as such. Hands up to that.

Oh well, another thing that caught my attention as always were their dreamcatchers that they sell and also crochet artwears and mandala designed stuffs that you can also check on their website.

I'll tag one along and visit again for sure. 128077

Another #BatangasBest and cute cafe in Lipa City.
Credits to Zai M Bcoz of her I got to discover this place. 128077🏻

I liked their interior and concept.
We ordered Tuna Pasta and Baked Mac (Php 120/each) and Choco Chip Frappe (Php 175)
For all the food we ordered I can say that the prices are quite reasonable. I enjoyed my baked mac it's so cheesy 🙂 The drinks we had is good as well, it isn't too sweet think I can finish 1 alone.lols

Overall my first time experience here is indeed fun.

As I was browsing my FB newsfeed, I saw an ad of this cute café (I’m a sucker for cute and artsy cafés). I opened the page and was very surprised that it is in Lipa City (just 20-30 minutes away from where I live). The next day, I suggested this café for our weekly family food trip.

The café has a very nice and artsy ambiance. There is a very photogenic and IG-worthy wall art outside the café. A perfect spot for the millennials’ “candid shots” hehe guilty! Inside the cafe is a purple Volkswagen beetle that is converted into a café counter. One side of the room has triangular shelves with books and toy beetles. The opposite side has a cute couch with colorful pillows and wall décors. Parts of actual beetle cars were also used as decors. On the side near the counter, there is a display of dreamcatchers, bags and other accessories that are for sale. All are soo pretty! They reminded me of Coachella.

They serve burgers, pasta, rice meals, toasts, pancakes, light bites, coffee, smoothies, overstuffed frappe and sundae. We ordered the following:
127828Cheese Burger (Php 120), Cheese Burger with Bacon and Egg (Php 150) – The first thing I noticed is the cute French fries basket. Cute! Hehe! The patty tasted good and was juicy. We liked it!
127837Lasagna Rolls (Php 140) – 2 rolls with garlic bread. I loved it! Saucy and cheesy! It reminded me of Banapple’s lasagna rolls.
127829Pizzadilla (Php100) – Solo sized pizza with pepperoni and cheese. We loved it!
127831Crispy Fried Chicken (Php 90) and Buffalo Chicken Wings (120) –(not shown in the pics) my 2 sisters ordered rice meals and both of them enjoyed their meals
1278519749️Overstuffed Frappe – we ordered 3 coffee-based frappes:
Hazelnut (Php 175) – with Krispy Kreme donut, whipped cream and Peppero on top
S’mores (Php 185) –has mallows, Peppero and a chocolate of choice (my sister chose Reese’s)
Nutella (Php 185) – it has whipped cream and a piece of Ferrero on top
All tasted good but I liked the Hazelnut best. I would definitely come back to try their green tea frappe, overstuffed sundae and other stuff on the menu! The food especially their lasagna rolls is worth the price.

Service was good, too. The staffs were approachable and helpful in helping us choose what to order. After eating, we took quite a long time in taking pictures inside and outside the café. Cute kasi! Haha! Good thing, it was not crowded when we went there. I recommend this place to people who appreciate both art and good food. It a nice chill spot for everyone. I’m so glad the Lipa has this kind of café. I hope that Batangas City will have its own, too!.
