Tucked away in Balara, within the MWSS compound, Qubiertos was a recent restaurant discovery of my parents. Ambiance was different; like a picnic site, setup in the middle of a garden, beside an old, dilapidated house. The weather was quite warm when we dined here and but we were lucky there was a bit of a breeze. Plus it helped greatly that there was a fan, blowing full-on in our faces. So it was fine, really 128514

We ordered the Boneless Cebu Lechon, Laing, Chopseuy and Crispy Plapla. All complemented by unlimited rice for only PHP35 each. The orders were served fairly quickly, except for the fish as we ordered this late. We had to follow up a few times as all our dishes were almost finished and it was still not served. We also had to ask the lechon to be re-cooked, as some parts were still pinkish in color.

Overall, the biggest opportunity area was the service, especially considering there were only a few customers to be served. The staff was crowded together in one area, barely hearing or seeing us (or pretending not to), when we called for their attention.

In the end, the bill was almost as high as Mesa's, where food quality, ambiance and service were far much better. Needless to say, it was an average dining experience. And Qubiertos is not somewhere I'll be excited to eat at again soon.

Every time I go here, I always order their Boneless Cebu Lechon. It's one of the best lechon in Manila that can satisfy your Cebu lechon craving. Actually, if I'm going to be honest, it's not exactly your typical Cebu lechon. It's not as salty as CNT, for example, which is typical of legit Cebu lechon. However, Qubiertos's version is a delight for your taste buds. It's savory and salty with a kick of star anise, which I guess takes it lightyears forward. Not exactly Cebu lechon, but dare I say... Better???? The skin is thick, crispy, and perfect. Best paired with their spicy vinegar. 5/5 1108811088110881108811088

Qubiertos rice (lower left in the photo) - great flavor, huge serving!!! Also presentation is top notch. 5/5 1108811088110881108811088

Bagoong rice (left, center) - same as above. 5/5 will order again. 1108811088110881108811088

Two of our plates had insects and the walls were not even painted. Servers were uninteresting and dishes uneventful. The vegetable we had was good but other than that the lechon didn't have any impact. Same goes for the simple sisig. Usually with lechon you get a good sauce. It wasn't present here unfortunately: Parking was accessible and the guard very helpful. Other than that there is no reason to comeback.

My family and I love rating at Qubiertos. It is near our place, it's comfortable like you are eating at your own house, their meals are very affordable and complete, and their food taste really good.

My favorite meal is their bagnet with laing and unlimited plain rice. Their Baked Mussels are delicious too. It is overloaded with cheese.

We're looking for a perfect place to chill and celebrate our friend's birthday. #sapilitan

Together with Jerrald S and the gang, we came here. Although we were thinking of having a food trip in Maginhawa, but it's kinda late already so KTV night it is.

Upon entering you'll be surprised that it actually looks just like a real house with many rooms! 128517 Srsly.

Consumable food, and hey, they offer great sisig, and an hour and a half of nonstop biritan, it's a perfect deal for us! 128076

From romantic songs, to rap, to kpop! While someone is singing, most of us are eating. 128514 #foodtripsaktv

We can't finish one case of beer in that span of time so we stayed in one of their kubos.

We were their last "crazy" customers. 127908

I love this place because it's cozy, the food is delicious, and the prices are so affordable. I go here at least twice a month.

My favorites are: Grilled Liempo, Baked Tahong, Baked Oysters, Laing, and Stuffed Squid.

They have meals that doesn't cost too much. It has a main viand, veggies for side dish, unlimited rice, drink, and dessert.

Qubiertos, the lovechild of our family, for we, love to cook and eat. It serves Traditional Filipino dishes at a very friendly price.

You should try this appetizer, which we call "Tokwa't Bagnet". Upon biting the bagnet, you'll notice it's subtle crunch, which gives a nice texture in your tastebuds! But wait, let's not forget the Tokwa. The tokwa is just rightly fried, not so soft and not so tough. And the sauce, yes it balances both the bagnet and tokwa. It's not too spicy nor to salty. These three elements just blend harmoniously.

Qubiertos is situated in the busy streets of Kalayaan Avenue, where a lot of restaurants are aligned. You will not be intimidated by its exterior, for it really looks like an ancestral house. Yeah, it really is. 128522

Visit us! I'd be happy and thrilled to read your comments and reviews here128522
