I didn't join my family over at Baguio for the New Year, because doing nothing for long periods of time makes me antsy...128513

Our yearly trips to Baguio when I was younger has made me a bit immune to its charms... I'm always looking for something to do and since I don't play golf (one of the things about me that has disappointed my dad for the longest time), I find my ADHD acting up when I'm here...

But I did miss the weather and the lovely fireworks display at the Manor, to be fair... I just told my mom to bring home my favorites, please please please... My mom brought home lots of beautiful strawberries, ube from Good Shepherd, and of course, BCC goodies!128525128525128525

They are known for their Raisin bread, but I requested for the blueberry oatmeal cookies and the sovital bread... Pero the raisin bread pa din...128514 gulo...128514

This was my taste of Baguio at home! Loving my cookies!!!128156

Look at all the breads we got!!! 128563 We really go wild, so we can reach the consumable... and also cause it's really good!!!!

My favorites from the bakery are the banana bread and the dinner rolls!128525 Both are very filling and at the same time it's like you can never have enough. 128513128513128513

Having breakfast with the wifey. Have to say what a beautiful day! Enjoying my view with my benguet coffee!
Ordered the golfers breakfast which is fresh fruit or juice, assorted bread, corn beef hash, poached eggs and muffins while the wifey had an American breakfast! All u can say is that I'm loving it!

A trip to Baguio is never complete without buying the famous Baguio Country Club raisin bread and banana loaf. They advise members to pre-order a day before their departure because these breads run out of stock fast. Of course, I ordered my favorite Sovital Bread. It's a multigrain bread with walnuts and some raisins. Not a big fan of raisins except if it's on bread. 128517 I usually toast this and slather with peanut butter (yummmm) or butter and jam!

We also got our pasalubong here for relatives and family friends. Mom also got herself a carrot loaf. I find the taste cloying so I prefer the banana loaf. 127820

Their cakes look yummy too, especially the sans rival and pecan pie! I'll bring a whole cake back to Manila if only it won't melt.128542

Cheap but quality pastries!!!! I can't believe how cheap their pastries are! And so many choose from! But of course our fave would have to be the raisin bread and banana bread. If you're not a member they have a stall in SM baguio!

They are known for their raisin and banana bread, but for me, one of the best things BCC has to offer is the Blueberry oatmeal cookie!!!128077128077128077 super yummy and perfect with coffee!128079

I'm just sad that they ran out of the cookie, as we picked them up quite late already... They offered the Toffee oatmeal cookie something or the other to replace it, but it's not as good as the Blueberry Oatmeal cookie!!! It's definitely the bomb for me!128163128163128163

Oh, pictured is their dollar pancakes with the crunchy bacon on the side! Breakfast since I have no pics of the cookie127774

I have tried more than my share of cakes during my stay at BCC... I've had it for snacks and for dessert, just to cram them all during my visit...

Their best seller is the Michelangelo, which is their version of the sans rival... It was good, but I'm not the biggest fan of sans rival in the first place... But pretty good nonetheless...

Obviously, I had to try their Strawberry Shortcake... I am a lover of all things with strawberry, so I can never pass up an opportunity to try a strawberry creation... The cake was very pretty, with big luscious strawberries in between every layer of light chiffon and on top... A very light and airy dessert despite the cream, and not too sweet...

I was also able to try the Blueberry cheesecake, which was just okay for me... The blueberries were very rich, I just didn't love the consistency of the cheesecake itself...

My dad and I also shared a slice of the apple pie... It was okay as well, full of crunch from the apples and walnuts... But honestly, I've had better...

Lastly, I had a slice of the chocolate truffle cake, which was beautifully executed! Another dessert that wasn't too sweet or heavy, which I liked... The chocolate frosting tasted like dark chocolate, with the slight hint of bitter coffee aftertaste... Even as I finished the whole slice, I didn't feel umay at what I was enjoying... Perfect afternoon pick-me-up!128077

BCC has a lot of pastries to choose from, I think I may have sampled half of their cake offerings... Though they are infamous for their raisin bread, they have proven, at least to me, that they are no lightweights when it comes to their cakes as well!128077128516128079

This is where we eat breakfast when in BCC!

The Veranda is the usual option for breakfast in BCC, but they serve it buffet style... I prefer Raisin Bread in the mornings, as it is deserted as most people go for the Veranda... 128513 I just like sitting at the table by the big windows, where I get my daily dose of sunshine...9728

I woke up pretty late during my first morning there, so I opted for a burger paired with a watermelon shake... It took them very, very long to prepare my burger! The waitresses kept apologizing for the wait, but I didn't mind honestly... The wifi was pretty strong (vs inside the rooms), so I was enjoying COC while I waited...

When my burger came, it tasted great!!! Very juicy, topped with very fresh veggies! It came with a side of crispy fries... It was kinda big for me, I couldn't eat it with both buns present... Pretty great burger!!!127828127828127828

My favorite banana bread! 127820

We have a couple of loaves again fresh from Baguio. *w00t* 128079 It remains moist even if it's straight out of the fridge. No need to reheat before eating. I wonder if this will taste good with vanilla ice cream on top?128061 maiba lang!

Can't wait for Christmas! We'll surely have some goodies from BCC again. We usually give them to neighbors and family friends as gifts. Hohoho!!127877

Mom wanted to eat dessert after dinner so she ordered a slice of Chocolate Truffle Cake to share from The Raisin Bread. 127856 It was indeed chocolatey with the right amount of sweetness. Presentation was nice! 128076 They also have pies and cheesecakes with fresh fruits! 128523

BCC's restaurants have limited choices for desserts. You can pick from the cakes available here at the pastry shop or enjoy a scoop (or two) of ice cream. 127874127846

They also sell chocolate bars here. You can buy 'em per 100 grams. 127851

Last weekend, we pushed through with our Baguio trip despite the storm Santi. Days before the trip, I searched for must try restos and places to see in Baguio from where else, |ooloo! I created a "Baguio list". So happy I got to try quite a lot from my list and we didn't have problems looking for the locations coz maps were included on the listing. 128077 Hopefully I can do my backlog Baguio reviews over the weekend.

Anyway, let me start with one of my Baguio faves-- the bread and pastries from Raisin Bread. Since we stayed at the Baguio Country Club, this shop is very accessible. They only allow members to purchase their products, including the infamous raisin bread and banana bread.

We had to reserve the items we're bringing home days before our departure for Manila. We got several pieces of the ff. for our own consumption and pasalubong:

🔶 raisin bread- Always been our fave! The raisins were not too dry. 127815 Still juicy and the sweetness gives additional flavor to the bread. No need to toast this before eating. It stays soft even if it's cold.
🔶 sovital bread- a healthy carb option! We always get this multigrain bread and it's loaded with walnuts and raisins. You can eat it as is, but I love it with peanut butter or cookie butter. 128517 (Ooops di na healthy! Lol.)
🔶 banana bread- moist and you can really taste the banana! It's not just flavoring that they put. One of the best banana bread I had! 127820
🔶 ensaymada- buttery and cheesy. Best to consume right away coz the bread gets hard once placed inside the fridge.128523
🔶 ube macapuno danish- my latest discovery! Super yummy!!128156 A unique pinoy flavor on danish pastry. The ube halaya is on top of a thick layer of custard (ala leche flan) and macapuno strips. It was flaky, soft but not too sweet and cloying. I hope I ordered more. *sigh* Next time, next time! (Sorry for the photo! I almost forgot to take a photo of my danish hahaha.)

I'll do a separate review for their cakes which we also tried, but on a separate day. 127856

Visit this when you're in Baguio! 128513
