Japanese food will always be my comfort food. Having a tiring and long week, thanks to my weekend HK visit and then going to work right after arriving in Manila, I was super duper drained the whole freakin week.

First got to try Ramen Cool back in college in their Kapitolyo branch. I knew they now have three branches and one is here in SM Manila. Decision making got easier when I saw this Japanese restaurant.

Modern Japanese theme inside, which I really liked about Ramen Cool branches. Made me feel like I stepped inside one ordinary japanese restaurant in Tokyo. The music, the set-up, all Japanese. I loved how the good four contrasting backdrops inside. One pink wall with the Fuji as design, one basic with brown couches, the other blue-white abstract painting mix, and the last a wall stall with vases, plants, and that white cat saying Hi. Haha 128514

Service was just okay. The lady who handed me the menu seems to not know much about it yet. She had to call the regular servers. "beh, may tanong si sir" was what she said. arigato, miss! 128541

I got the Negasaki Ramen bowl. Served in a hot metal bowl, culprit to the burns on my fingers. I was too hungry to take extra care thus kept on bumping this hot metal. Soy-based soup with a tempura, shrimps, tender chicken cubes, big slices of carrots, mushroom, egg, a big half of a white onion, and noodles. Had this sweet-soy soip base which was just right for me. I was not in the mood for the heavy miso-based ones. The mix of toppings was good. I liked the fresh mushrooms, the chicken, and the noodles. I still don't see the need of a fried tempura mixed in ramen soup. The effect on the batter is not so appetizing, imo.

I also tried the Karaage. Three pieces of chicken loose thigh part. No bones. The texture and taste was good. A tid bit salt would be nice. What I did not appreciate was the sauce it came with. I like the usual mayo dressing that complements the soft creamy feel karaages usually have. They served some kind of tonkatsu sauce. The one's you eat with your katsudon. First time to encounter this combi.

My food was served quite long btw. Ramen served after maybe 20 mins after ordering while karaage after another 15 minutes. I was almost done with my ramen when it arrived.

A 3.5 but because of the ambiance, giving them 4.

Me and my friends were craving for some Ramen and since it was the only available ramen house in SM Manila, we decided to give it a try. Their ramen is good for 2-3 persons, quite pricey for the quality but it's okay. The staff were meh, not once did they smile to the customers.

Beef ramen. Ok pero nasobrahan ata ng seasonings. Green tea was free- a complimentary drink. I thought hand pulled noodles is better to use.

Had lunch for mother's day! Yehey! Wala lng special for mother's... Booo!

But d place was nice, bring interiors, plant centerpiece on every table.

We ordered 5 pcs ebu tempura P 275, yummy and affordable

Chashu was that big bowl of brown rice P100 lang

We ordered 3 kinds of ramen:
Rcool ramen: was good, miso based p295

Seafood ramen was ok lng P235. Based soup was buttery medyo konti yun noodles, they have shrimps, clams n sluces of pusit

Nabeyaki ramen, their best seller P265 had a sweet soup base, mother in law and my daughter liked this more than the other 2

Totally loved their cold or hot service tea. Although d hot service tea, wen gets cold, its like drinking ginger tea. Their ice tea was good but its at P95 a glass even their mango juice which tasted like mango from a can.

They say, you'll never know unless you try.

That's the reason why I tried this restaurant called Ramen Cool! Cool name for a restaurant. Isn't it? Hehe.

It's not that expensive. For about 185 pesos, I get to enjoy this very spicy chicken with veggies and a lot of rice. (Which by the way, I wasn't able to finish)

I see a lot of college students dining in here. So, let's assume that it's affordable and right on the budget.

Happy to discover this restaurant here at SM Manila. So, if you can't decide where to eat or had enough of those fast food chains. This place is a worth a try. :)

Until my next visit.

Your Fellow Food Traveller,

Princess

I'm turning Japanese 128516128516 another ramen I tried, while waiting for my cousin i saw this store Ramencool. I ordered the Pork Shoyuramen (170) and of course my fav Gyosa (120). The noodles is quite hard, but the way they prepared the Ramen is ok. I love the Gyoza and it's big by the way, they also served house tea (hot or cold). The store is clean and very nice interiors 128077.

Food is good. Better service in Kapitolyo branch, though.

It was my first time in Ramen Cool. And since I don't eat pork and chicken (these are my sacrifices for lent season), I settled for Beef Mix Rice which was surprisingly good. I also got to try their flavorful tofu special (had to set apart the ground pork though).
