Good ramen. Not so easy on the budget.

When my favorite ramen place closed (Kotobukiya in J Centre Mall), I was devastated. But when I heard about this new ramen place relatively close to where I live, I was immediately thrilled and eager to try it out.

Ramen Sora hails from Subic, so this is their first franchise venture in the Queen City. Ramen was good enough, but sadly it didn't beat out my favorite. Portions were big. Prices were reflective of its' origins (read: Metro Manila/Subic price standards). Around 250-300 per bowl, which is expensive for most discerning Cebuanos.

Would I come back? Maybe, once the craving for that rich steamy bowl of broth and noodles kicks in.

A lot of people have been saying good things about this place since they opened about a month ago. Their ramens are mostly miso, shio and shoyu. I was kind of sad that they don't have tonkotsu. So i ordered a spicy deluxe shoyu ramen; my mom, a miso ramen; my dad, a shio deluxe. Deluxe means they add two more slices or pork and more ground beef. That's the weird part about their ramen is that they add a none traditional element of ground beef. When my ramen arrived i expected the broth to be slightly red because i ordered a spicy one. Instead the ground beef is the one made spicy so when you mix your ramen the whole bowl get's spicy. The ground beef had a weird taste and texture for me that made me feel like i was eating batchoy or something. Other than that the pork tenderloin tastes really good and smoky and the broth as well; although i could tell they add a lot of msg to their ramen because i had a headache after an hour and also did my parents. We also ordered gyoza and it was pretty delicious.
