Writing this as we dine here. First impression, service is not very attentive. Waitress' attention seemed elsewhere when taking our order. I ordered an entree and it didn't seem to register until I repeated it loudly which seemed to snap her back to the present. Then after we ordered they came back and notified us that one of our entrees was unavailable, the one entree that caught our eye and encouraged us to dine here. Hmm... shouldn't you know ahead of time what you have available or not? So, not off to a good start. We replaced the entree and proceeded to wait... And here comes the food. First up, Classic Tuna Kinilaw... but where's my order of rice. Filipinos eat everything with rice... Still more waiting. Good thing Kinilaw can't get cold sitting. We pick at the Kinilaw and it is good. Wish I had that rice. Next comes the soup, Karagatan, and finally our rice. A buddy of mine, when asked, informed me that Kinilaw is one of the specialties of Davao. He was right. My wife does not particularly like Kinilaw but she liked this version. She proclaimed it "The Best Kinilaw." High praise from a non-Kinilaw eater. For me, it was good. Perhaps not the best I've had but up there. The wife ordered the Karagatan and enjoyed it immensely. I tried some and it was pretty good. I just wished they added the other half of the crab they put in there and took out some of the tahong. We finished off our meal with the Buko Trio Salad. Yummy. Very good and if we ever make it back here we would definitely order this again. One other gripe about the service, when the dessert was brought out it was pretty apparent we were finished with our meal. The waitress could have offered to take some of our used plates out of our way. Instead we had to shuffle things around so we could share the Buko Trio between us. So overall, Ranchero, IMHO earns 4 stars for the food minus 1 star for the service.

I was with my bro, sis-in-law and babe and they decided to try Ranchero. Not a big Filipino restaurant fan (because mej sawa na ako sa masasarap na luto ni Ate A) but I didn't want to be KJ kaya sige nalang...Everybody was really hungry I didn't want to waste time thinking of another place to eat.

We ordered Kalderetang Kambing, Grilled Squid, Crispy Pata, Bagoong Rice and the Buko Trio.

Squid was cute!!! Masarap, but CUTE talaga.:/ KK tasted really good but tough.:( Bagoong Rice was ok... Crispy Pata was the winner! Service though, was a let-down. It took them an hour to serve the food, and to think gutom na gutom na gutom na kami when we got there. Shibal.

Pwedeng pwede sya if you have a lot of time to waste. Otherwise, ok lang.

Ranchero Ribs are the best. Tender and savory with an authentic smokey flavor in every bite. The Lumpiang Hubad is also our favorite. Try the Dragon Fruit Shake too :)

Ranchero offers Filipino ranch-style cooking. My family has been to Ranchero for quite a number of times and they did not disappoint. However, lately they have been inconsistent with their food and service. Servings are a bit smaller and they have been skimping on ingredients. Tsk.

Food still tastes good though. One should definitely try their baby back ribs and sinigang!
