We ate here twice in 2 days before going back to Manila. Everything went well not until we ordered for a Tuna Belly. The waiter told us it wasn't availble at that time. Its a shame though that Gensan is known as the 'Tuna Capital of the Phils' yet they consistently told us the inavailbility of the dish for 2 straight days. Tsk! Nakatulog na ata Tuna nila sa dagat. 128517

I ordered the wrong dish.

When I got instructions from people who've been to gen san, i must have mixed up "what to order" and "where to order" so I went ahead and ordered the inihaw platter. It was great but not uncommon.

Then I started looking around... Every one ordered their RIBS!!!

I was already too full so I didn't order anymore but I envied them so bad. The ribs looked really good and it was big too! When I saw the price it was just for P400! And believe me it was good for three people.

Hope I can redeem myself next time by ordering "the right order".

Loving it here in gen san! :)

Frustrated with this Ranchero branch. Their main branch in GenSan and their branches in Davao are generally good, but this one was just a big letdown.

Interior is beautifully decorated with ranch-inspired furniture and pieces. But there was a slightly unpleasant smell in the air. Then I realized it was the smell of flowers that hadn't been replaced for a long time. Not good.

I wanted their special tortang talong, and then I was told they didn't have eggs. Say whuut? They were situated in a mall and they didn't even have basic ingredients. Hmpf.

Ordered the kilawin, kare-kare, and baked oysters instead. The meat in the kilawin was tough. Kare-kare clearly used peanut butter in the sauce. Baked oysters were so-so.

Also noticed that the servers tended to be absent-minded at times.
