Simple. Comfort food.
I had dinner here with my fellow foodie Cheen and we ordered gising gising, fried tilapia and bagoong rice. Nothing overpowering, and everything uncomplicated. Bonus points for the bagoong rice which could be supplement and meal! Total bill was around P600 but could be less if we only got one ulam :)
The staff were efficient and personable.
All in all a good setting for fellowship and updates.

UNDECIDED and we ended here, I would understand the ambience since SHANG is under renovation but the place is too ordinary and so simple. The foods are great very Filipino but The servings are not good for family or barkadas. The Gising2X is not so spicy like what i've expected. ITs OKAY'OKAY...

mystery of generals chicken. - i even offered 5k to a research and tech specialist to reverse engineer the generals chicken recipe but failed. Kfc even launched a similar recipe but didnt took off. must try for all chicken lovers. this is before all the sweet korean style coated chicken. more than 10 years still a mystery.

The portions are generous. I loved the Thai spring rolls. Refreshing taste. Ambiance though can still be improved. Oh, the price is reasonable, too.

Definitely one of my favorite Filipino restaurants in the Metro. This is the first time I got to try their Kare-kare and it was really really good! 128516128516128516

We always enjoyed eating here, at their branches in Shang and Solenad 2. We never get tired of the Kare-kare, and the General's chicken is also good.

The most fullfiling orders: General's Chicken, Crispy Tilapia, Gising Gising, Chicken Sotanghon, General's Tofu. 128525

I also suggest among the meals, Chicken Teriyaki that comes with plain rice, togue and a glass of iced tea all for P175!

I am a slave to their General's Chicken. Always good!!! 128077128077128077

Had lunch here with my family. We were a group of 10 and our bill was less than 2.5K only. Sobrang sulit! Only proves that great food need not be expensive all the time. Their service is also top notch! Always attentive to our needs, plus they sliced the cake my sister brought and provided us with plates & forks to use. None of those corkage chuvabelles I've experienced from a different restaurant before.

Dishes we loved
💟 general's chicken, gising gising, crispy bangus, sinigang na baboy, catfish mango salad and seafood rice.

Dishes that were just okay
🔘 chicken sotanghon soup (3/4 sabaw and 1/4 sahog), binagoongan & lechon kawali with kangkong (okay yung karne pero maalat). My brother who's the "cleaner" in the family said mapapa-kanin ako nito lalo!

General's Chicken was crunchy and sweet, yummy!
Gising Gising was good for that gata fix.
Kare Kare was a tad too watery - would've been better if there was more peanut butter in it. Their bagoong made up for the taste.

For 3 years now, whenever I'd feel stressed out, the sweet and salty taste of RECIPES by Cafe Metro always calmed me down. 128516

Gising Gising
which has a literal translation of "wake-up, wake-up" It's a chopped baguio beans with ground pork and coconut milk. Best paired with rice. A sure way to excite your palate. Hint: it's hot.

General's Chicken
This is basically a deep fried chicken fillets and eggplant slices with sweet spicy sauce.

Dining at RECIPES By Cafe Metro is such a happy gastronomic adventure! Definitely will come back to try more.
