Pina-TUNAy
Lecheng Kawali

So Thursday was NRC day (y'all should try it. It's free, they make you try on new Nike shoes, you meet new and friendly people. Burning all that fat you get from the 24/7 food tripping is just a bonus. 128111). So after a very very tiring 10km run (Wew. Who knew my food loving body could run that long in just an hour? 128514), of course we need to get back all those calories we just burned.

And it just so happened that Recovery Food is just a few blocks away. And what better way to recover than to gobble down Recovery Food? So we dragged our weary feet to the resto.

We usually get Tapa de Morning but since we're feeling adventurous, we decided to veer away from our usual and got Pina-TUNAy and Lecheng Kawali instead.

The Pina-TUNAy was good although we expected it to be spicier than it was. Anyway, they have Sriracha sauce so we just added so that's okay. The Lecheng Kawali was crispy with lots of skin (yum!) although it also came with a little bit more fat than I wanted my lechon kawali to have (they said no fats. They lied! Lied! 128545 Lol). The homemade sauce was a good pairing. And for all rice bowls, you get to choose if it comes with white or brown rice. So it's healthy on that part if that matters to you.

All in all, it was a good experience.

We had it on delivery and i ordered for their hala ka which is a chicken strip on turmeric rice on a full recovery at 285 + delivery charge. What we got was something that was a size of half recovery at 130 difference. Since some of us order for half recovery of the same thing. Felt rip off by ot since i could have something better at 300.

First time to eat and craving for new versions of favorite breakfast food. First i tried my mami the soup is tasty just like la paz batchoy but the noodles is different i feel its too gooey not good for the entire dish. Oriental salad is good combination vegetables and few fruits the dressing is good i taste there is a peanut butter in it and i enjoyed that. The main dish tapa morning not so unique in taste similar to other tapa haus, happy chicken is delicious its like tapa chicken, alfonchorizo just right not so unique to me but its good the rice itself for all meals is already a meal i can eat it without ulam one more i like their dalandan juice eventhough its powder mix. Over all i enjoyed their food and the price is right on the budget.

This place is a great stopover for any late night or early morning hangover fix, a visit from hyve or valkyrie straight here is a great suggestion. I found myself here for a different kind of recovery, recovery from heat, went for a take out of tapa de morning while i had the sagolama here instead, it was not that all good but it does help me recover from the lunch time heat of walking from office to here and back. 128522

Half recovery of tapa de morning comes only at 180. Its made up of homemade tapa, egg either scramble or sunny side up, ensalada and rice *white or brown rice. This is their best seller according to their server but to be honest its just plain old tapa, oh by the way you can had the rice on aligue if you dont mind the cholesterol.

My previous visits here i prefer their Porkqua at around same price, its a tender brined pork fillet in a petchay rice. And their S.S.T. is also good at around 180. Its their version of aweet spicy tuyo on a brown or white rice.

This resto offers simple dishes for anyone who doesnt want to shell out much for their lunch or dinner at an upscale area like bgc. Or for anyone who just wants to recover before heading home. 128522

Doc Sisig - that's what is on the picture (155php) 128076🏻

I'm used to Pampanga Classic Style Sisig, that's why when this was served I was surprised.

Crunchy. Tasty. You won't leave their place until you finish your bowl (they serve it in a bowl instead of plate, which is fine) 128077🏻

Customer Service is as it's best, fast and accomodating.

Venue - too small, it only has few tables considering they have a lot of customers, tendency is it creates a line.

They gave justice to their glorified instant ramen dish. Pretty good.

The place is very clean with simple yet enticing ambiance. I tried their Doc Sisig and I loved it! Their pork is so crunchy and yummy that will make you ask you more. I'm planning of going back next week to try the lechon kawali. I'm rating it 4 I'm in love with their Doc Sisig stars!

The boss had to run errands in BGC last week and she suggested we have lunch here before going to Balkan. Recovery Food can be one of the best options for those who want food that is served quick and within the budget.

There was a queue outside but since we were only two, we were able to get a table right away. I didn’t browse the menu anymore, and went on ordering the Tapa de Morning—homemade tapa, sunny side up egg and brown rice, while my boss had a regular serving of Happy Beef Rice. I was surprised that our food was ready in about five minutes considering that it was packed that time.

Their version of beef tapa is flaky and more on the sweet side, kinda reminds me of Rodic’s. I found it a bit dry, although I prefer this than the saucy tapas served in other restaurants. The brown rice tasted weird. I’m not sure if it’s old or they used cheap brown rice. No nutty taste, and the grains were too dry and "durog." I should have ordered it with white rice instead. #panggaphealthy kasi 🙄

Rodic’s still serves the best tapa, in my opinion.

Although the serving is huge for a "regular" order, it does not justify the taste of the food. Food was served cold. Tapa and beef rice (pares with no soup) taste the same, they were bland. They have sweet&spicy tuyo which is similar to those jarred tuyo available in supermarkets. It was served over talangka rice - rice with NO hint of crab or talangka or aligue at all. It was just an orange-colored sweet rice. I thought the overall taste can be masked by ensalada but as you can see, it was just a chewy almost stale ensalada. 5 star goes to the crew who is nice and attentive. 2 stars for the food.

It has been eons since I ate here, I think I've been here once and that was it. So I have no recollection of how the food tastes like.

Finally, got to eat breakfast here and had Tapa de Morning. The "small" size was already big for me! i was only able to finish two-thirds of it and was super duper full 128513 I find the tapa too sweet though, hope they tone it down a little, but not bad for the price and the serving size. Though I prefer Tapa King he he he!

This place has been my sister and I's favorite for Filipino comfort food, we usually go here when we go on a shoot around the area. This time though, it was random, we were at home when my sister bugged me about her craving for Tapa de Morning and kept on asking me to go. At first, I didn't want to because it was just a few hours before Eat Bulaga and I didn't want to miss AlDub. I was like, can't we go after EB? Hahahahahaha! But then I cannot think of anything else the next minutes but their tapa that I just had to give up. And then I thought maybe we can just call and have it delivered to us, that way, it's a win-win. But after Google-ing, we found out that they don't deliver in our area. :(

Of course my sister was persistent, that's what cravings do to you, see, and since I was already on the same state as she was, AlDub was forgotten and we went out for Tapa de Morning.

It was an hour before noon when we got there, there was one vacant table left, the moment we sat down, three groups of people came, lucky us that we got that table! We won't usually look at the menu and order immediately but there was that photo on the table advertising their new bagnet and sisig, that caught us because we both love sisig. Our server gave us the menu, we asked for water, it was super hot outside! And then my sister was caught by Amadobo, talk about indecisiveness, haha! I stick with Tapa de Morning (full recovery) and my sister went with Amadobo (regular) because "she can share the tapa with me naman." 128530

We waited for no more than 5 minutes and our order was complete! The water we requested though was still nowhere to be found. 128532 We waited for a few minutes more before it finally came.

The Tapa de Morning was surprisingly disappointing. It has a weird taste, I can't explain but I think it kind of lacked something. But when my sister had a taste, she said it was okay naman, just as good as she remembers. I tried my sister's order then and it was good! Balanced saltiness and sourness, it even haa a little hint of sweetness. So perfectly paired with the rice! We ended up exchanging orders, haha!

All in all, the service is uh-uh. . . still okay, I guess. Just be quicker maybe on attending to the customer's requests especially with the water. Haha! ;)

This has always been one of my favorite go-to restos for an extended dinner or an after party venue since it is open 24/7.

I got my usual order, the Happy Beef. I love it for the sole reason that it tastes like pares together with their signature RF fried rice. I also put a generous amount of hoisin for added sweetness and sriricha for some heat.

We also got Doc Sisig which is a new addition on the menu. If you're a chicharon and sisig lover, you'll love this dish.

The food is really nothing special, just comfort food to fill you up or to nurse a hangover. I had their Happy Chicken Arroz Caldo and Cheese Sticks. The chicken in the arroz caldo was sweet (tasted like pares), it wasnt bagay with the lugaw. I prefer the traditional good ol' chicken arroz caldo. The cheese sticks had more lumpia wrapper than cheese. 128078🏻

I always forget that food at RF is nothing special. 128513 Doc Sisig was bland. I appreciate it though that they follow the kind of egg that you want to be served.

Just had our post-beer meal/early breakfast here. I had the Tapa de Morning with brown rice for Php180.00 and really liked it. Their tapa reminds me a bit of Rodic's because of its slight sweetness and genuine taste.

It's a perfect recovery for the hangover made by alcohol. I've been here countless times and their food has been always good. My friends are all first timers and glad that they loved their food especially the Spicy Sweet Tuyo. Wow! Will surely try that on my next "hangover" visit!
