Recovery Food is known for offering affordable hangover grub. I came to know RF by way of the boob tube. Their Dalandan Juice teased the curious kittie in me.

Fast Forward to today, we were undecided and starving - not a good combination. I decided to pick a joint randomly and RF happens to be in the vicinity.

SST. Sweet and Spicy Tuyo. I am a late bloomer when it comes to liking dried herring. My affinity started with the bottled variant i bought from a colleague. I have mixed feelings with RF's SST, the herring tastes like bottled kind but they could've served it flakes style. It is kinda difficult to chew on fillets of herring without gagging on the abundance of salt. I still liked it nonetheless.

Peace Out!

The only establishment open in UPTC late at night. Ordered Tapa de Morning (Php180 - regular) with brown rice, it's filling and serving was suitable to the price given.

Had the Tapa De Morning (full recovery size) when I ate here the other day with my cousin. Opted for white rice and scrambled egg to go with it. There was A LOT of rice. All in all, the whole thing was just okay. I found it not worth the price, which was Php260. Wish we went up to Rodic's instead.

The service was blah. Just one server for all the tables most of the time since the other one managed to disappear every now and then.

Spontaneously went to UP Town Center, only coz the CBF wants to. Zzz. 128529

It was pretty late so some of the outlets were closed already. So with no other choice, we tried Recovery Food.

I ordered Doc Sisig & the CBF, Tapa de Morning.

I fell inlove with the Doc Sisig, what can I say-- I have a weakness for good Sisig! 128514 And then there's that Tapa de Morning ala Coriander! 128514128514 Coriander taste was too strong-- try to take it easy with the Coriander. 128521128077🏻

After the game my friend and I were both hungry, so we ate here before going our separate ways 128556

Got Happy Chicken (155pesos) - to add more flavor to it i used their Hoi Sin sauce. I love the fact that this resto is 24/7 despite it's the only resto open in the compound 128079🏼

We went before 5pm on a Saturday so there weren't many people and we were seated instantly. We ordered Tapa de Morning and Kebabaridad. Really enjoyed the tapa, but maybe if I put vinegar, it would have tasted even better (I couldn't! Too bad). BUT then I tried my boyfriend's dish, the Kebabaridad. I love kebabs, and I had a favorite restaurant for that, but this one was good, even their sauce was good! The kebab was tender, if I could, would have replaced my order with that. Haha. Still, loved the tapa.

For a small eater like me, the regular was still half a serving more than I could eat.

Spent less than 400 for the two dishes. Worth trying! I'm picky with food and so not adventurous, but Recovery Food is now on my "good food" list. Plus points for the brown rice and 24-hr operations.

It was November 1 and my friend and I decided to go to UP Town Center to visit a Weekend Bazaar.

When we arrived, the place was half closed and the bazaar was not there. Apparently since it was November 1, stores (including the bazaar) will open at 12 noon.

We were really hungry so we decided to look for a place to eat and wait until the bazaar to open.

One of the open restaurants was Recovery Food. Honestly, I have not heard of it but the place was jam-packed so it is either there is no other place to eat or the food must be good.

The menu consisted majority of Filipino breakfast meals. I ordered Tapa de Morning.

It was homemade tapa with fried egg and organic rice. It was kind if small when it was served but don't be deceived with its appearance because the serving was pretty hefty.

The tapa was delicious. It was tender and flavorful. The organic rice was good as well.

They also have yummy appetizers. I enjoyed their Cheese sticks so much that we ordered two of them.

There are other meals that looked very scrumptious like their Lecheng Kawali ( their version of Lechon Kawali) and Spicy Sweet Tuyo. I can't wait to try them.

Finally tried Recovery Food after all this time. They say their food is the perfect hangover cure so I decided to see how it would fare while I was fit and sober. 128517

Went in and we were politely ushered to a table. We gave their menu a quick once-over and took note of the fact that their specialty really are their rice meals (which come in half or full orders) although they do also offer ramen bowls and sandwiches. I wanted to try their two new rice bowls which involved lechon kawali and sisig, but decided against it. Decided to stick to the tried and tested ones (since it is my first time). We had their Amadobo (adobo) and of course, the Tapa de Morning (tapa), 180 pesos each for their half bowls. I like that you get to pick how they cook the egg that comes with the rice meal. 128077

The bowls came after a few minutes and I had a taste of both dishes. I had the tapa first. As soon as it touched my taste buds, my main observation was: it's sweet! To the point that I was tasting some sort of milk powder on it. Surprisingly, I didn't appreciate
how it tasted that much. Tried the adobo next and this I liked! Tender chunks of meat in a savory, sweet (but not too sweet) sauce on a bed of rice! One of the tastier adobo dishes I've ever had.

Overall, their Amadobo gave me hope and piqued my curiosity re: their other rice meals. Would have to come back and check them out next time!

What caught my attention was the "lecheng kawali" on the menu board outside the door and the many notes posted on one side of the resto wall.

The kawali with brown rice was ok. Nothing great. Big enough serving (good quantity for the price)... It wasn't uber duper yummy but was decent. They served it with some herb dip instead of vinegar and local chili. I would've still preferred the latter. The brown rice wasn't soft enough.. Probably needed more water or soaking before cooking...

What wowed me during this experience was the sago't gulaman with gata... OMG! Yum. Real recovery food right there...

The cheese sticks were your typical cheese sticks... Nothing spectacular...

Because of the price range, great service staff, the fact it is 24/7, and that the dessert was pretty good, I will give this place another try. :)

Looking forward to our next visit next weekend..

P.s. The a/c was freezing... They need to adjust the room temp... Or maybe it was a ploy for customers to keep ordering hot food. Hahaha.

No frills food but just as yummy. This is how I describe my dining experience in RF. I ordered adobo rice while the wife had beef rice. I prefer the adobo riice more. The beef was good but the adobo was much better. It was the true blue home dining experience where you have soft pork with some taba in it plus the salty and sweetish sauce mixed with piping hot rice. Such a winner of an experience!

Food was OK, nothing to rave or rant about. I like that you can choose how your eggs are done and which type of rice to pair your ulam with.

Ordered one of their bestseller Tapa de Morning. The sweetness of the tapa makes a good combination with their sipcy vinegar. Next time i'll try it with their talangka rice 128525
