Red Ginger provides a casual dining experience of Asian fusion bestsellers. You'd definitely feel like you've stepped into Thailand or Vietnam, without the need of a passport and plane ticket!

We were welcomed with a veritable spread of a VIP family style lunch. I will list the dishes in order of how they were served.

°Popiah
It is like our humble vegetable lumpia but with crispy fried barbecue duck inside. They recommend eating it with some iceberg lettuce, then dipped in the fiery chili garlic. The popiah is ubiquitous and the chili garlic dipping sauce is lit!

°Vietnamese Caesar Salad
Not your ordinary tossed salad. That soft poached egg gives it a luxurious feel, a silky sauce that coats the lettuce and everything in this salad. The ingredients look simple but when married together creates an exciting and balanced appetizer.

°Satay Platter
This was such a pretty sight to behold. Spiced and skewered meats and yes, even tofu, were lined up, with a few bowls of sauce and vinegar with chili for dipping. Each of these meats has its own marinade, like the beef satay spiced with coriander and the pork satay with coconut glaze. Surprisingly (and ironically), my favorite was the silky tofu satay!

°Mamak Style Lamb Biryani
This biryani has tender chunks of lamb made more flavorful with authentic spices and curry. A huge crispy roll of papadam can be crushed on the rice itself to lend a crunchy texture. I personally loved the inclusion of pineapple chutney on the side. The sweetness of the pineapple proved to foil the aromatic spices of the Basmati rice and provides freshness and balance to the dish.

°Nasi Lemak Lobster
Spicy lobster morsels still in its shell, with slices of cucumber and roasted peanuts on the side, on top of coconut fried rice, with delicious crunchy bits of fried anchovy, yes dilis! My first instinct was to ask for beer but since it was the middle of the day, it was best to stick with a safe glass of pomelo lemonade.

°Char Kway Teow
This looks like pad thai but is spicier and has more complex flavors in it due to the sambal belachan. The flat rice noodles were very hefty, and the dish itself was filled with surprises like sausage (which I initially thought was chorizo but was told to be air-dried Lup Cheong sausage), pieces of fish cake, and prawns!

°Charcoal Grill
This comprised of 3 grilled meats cooked to perfection, complete with grill marks and all. Out of the 3, I enjoyed the °Spiced Blue Marlin fillet with Assam Butter. The fish was done right, flaky and soft, and was topped with rich assam butter that gave it a sophisticated taste. The addition of curry leaves vaguely reminded me of a certain salted egg style dish. The °Rosemary Chicken was slightly overpowered by the pungent lemongrass but still proved to delicious as well. I was hoping though for a more sweet-sour sensation from the °Honey and Tamarind Glazed Pork Belly.

°Dessert Platter
Ending this lunch with a sweet note from the kitchen was this Filipino-inspired dessert platter trio. The uber cute °Pandan Coconut Crepe roll can be dipped in the thick sauce it came with. This reminded me of suman latik mainly because of the fried sweet coconut bits on top. The °Mango Sticky Rice was a sweet and filling treat through and through. It looks very vibrant too with the mango cubes on top. What came as a pleasant surprise was the °Iced Avocado Condensada. It looked cold and unassuming but once you "break the ice" and mix the whole thing up, you'll find its vague similarity to Halo-halo. There were red beans and nata, mango balls and pinipig, plus the luscious avocado at the bottom of the cup. The avocado gave this dessert a very refreshing note, and makes you yearn more for a bigger serving.

As another treat, we were presented with °The Egg. It literally looks like a sunny side up egg, complete with a dash of pepper. But look again as the egg yolk is made from mangoes, while the egg white is custard cream, and the pepper are crushed cacao nibs. From the looks of it, the dish is quite difficult to execute, and so it was too pretty to eat! Each spoonful was a delight, very velvety smooth, quite similar to a panna cotta. This dessert has won numerous awards and is cited as part of Inquirer Lifestyle's Best Desserts Book 4.

All in all, a great dining experience that amplifies your tastebuds to another level. If you're a travel junkie who misses cuisines from the Asian countries you have visited, this is the perfect spot for you. If you're like me who wants to immerse in different cultures, I also highly suggest you try dining at Red Ginger. What better way to drink up more culture but with food!

Red Ginger is located at the 2nd floor, City of Dreams Manila Entertainment City in bustling Paranaque City.

They’re nicely located in the center, near the escalators. The choir singing Christmas carols nearby made our experience there more pleasant. As to their food, it was good too. Liked their Mixed green salad, Squid and pork fillet with hoisin pepper sauce, and Green chicken curry.

This place is surely packed.

We ordered Pad Thai, Morning Glory with Oyster Sauce, Rice Crackers and Grilled Chicken.

My fave was their Pad Thai and the Morning Glory ( aka Kangkong). Both had good flavors and big servings, perfect for sharing.

Staff were attentive and quick.

Term Break feels! Finally had the time to write reviews 128153

So for my first entry after being inactive for weeks, Red Ginger! We've been trying out different hotels in City of Dreams (which will be reviewed after this one) but only tried this lately. We were feeling a bit fancy that night because it was Charles' last night in Ph.

*Looloo should update their menu because most of their best sellers are not listed here*

We had: Braised Pork Ribs in Young Coconut Juice, Seafood with Hot and Sour Lemongrass Broth, Baby Squid, Pork Belly, Spicy Chicken Wings, and for drinks Mango Passion Mocktail.

• Braised Pork Ribs - 110881108811088
No photo with this one because it was not photogenic. It looked sad wtf haha! The soup tasted like kikiam. Yes, the street food. Hahaha! Charles did not like this one but I think it was not that bad. Maybe I was not just expecting the soup to taste like that since our server said that this is one of their best sellers.

• Seafood with Hot and Sour Lemongrass Broth - 11088110881108811088
This is a sure 5 star for me. It tasted like tom yum. I know I'm not supposed to eat seafood but damn, this one's inviting! The prawns are huge af. I think this one is good for 2-3. You can also ask them to make it extra spicy but since I'm sharing this with two kids, I settled for the classic one.

• Baby Squid - 110881108811088
LITERALLY a baby squid. It was served as two pieces of small sized squid. It was a bit spicy but the sauce complemented the dish well. If you really want to have squid, just order the hot and sour seafood na lang because it includes squid as well. Even though it's not bad, it's not worth the money as well.

• Pork Belly - 1108811088110881108811088
This one is the real deal! It is also not included in the menu so just ask your waiter for it. I highly recommend this one because it's flavorful and the presentation is so mouth watering. They will give you three choices for the sauce but the dish alone is already satisfying.

• Spicy Chicken Wings - 1108811088
This one's not really spicy. Haha! It tasted like regular bbq sauce. My standards for chicken wings are high af because my dad makes them perfectly.

• Mango Passion Mocktail - 1108811088
This was recommended by our server. She said it was lit af but it wasn't. It tasted like mango Zest-O! If it wasn't that expensive, I never would have finished this one 128514

Most of their best sellers and chef's recommendations are in the appetizer list so spend more time browsing that one. All in all, I'll give it four stars since I liked most of the dish we had naman and the staff are really accommodating and polite. I would def come back for more pork belly!

After S&R told hubby to try Red Ginger because I've been wanting to try their Singaporean Chili Grouper 128031 and it the sauce was fantastic! it was actually the last set for the night... whew! hop they'll serve the same with crab. The Morning Glory (Kangkong in oyster sauce) was spicy so be prepared. Overall, loved it and will bring my Mom next time 128149

Not my first time but we were disappointed with our order of ribs.

It was rock hard.

I mean how could one go wrong with ribs? Ribs are generally tender to begin with. This one however was dry. Seems like reheated to us. 128532

The Beef Rendang is another story. It is very tender and flavorful even though it has very minimal sauce. However, I like my Rendang drowning in sauce. Soooo there 128513

At first, we were planning to eat Italian food for dinner, but my friend was intrigued by this place. We then decided to look at their menu. This restaurant serves Southeast Asian cuisine and seeing that it includes Thai food, I then agreed to grab a bite here for the night.

What we ordered:

KING PRAWN WITH HOT SOUR LEMONGRASS BROTH (Php 440), which was composed of poached tiger prawns, bok choy, oyster mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and kaffir lime leaves. Sounds delicious right? well, it was spicy and sour. Other people who isn’t into sour food, would probably think that the sourness was just right, but for me it lacked that. So i suggest you have them add more sourness too it if you’re into sour food. Our shrimp was overcooked, so i was disappointed. It didn’t taste fresh either. As for the bok choy, we had the whole one. It was boiled that way. Mushroom as specified was oyster mushroom, but i think we had a few enoki mushrooms too, which was great since i love mushrooms. It would have been one of the best dishes we had here, if the prawns were just cooked properly.

CARAMEL GINGER CHICKEN (Php 360) served with a cup of jasmine rice and trio of sauces, which are samba belachan w/ crispy anchovy, sweet soy sauce w/ red onions and calamansi, and green chill and eggplant relish. The chicken was slightly sweet on the skin, moist too, but i couldn’t really taste the ginger flavour though. As for the sauces. I only liked the sweet soy sauce, i really disliked the green chili and eggplant relish. It was bitter and well as expected chili too. It was just an okay dish for me, not something you’d crave for or would even look for.

INDONESIAN STYLE ANGUS BEEF CHEEK RENDANG (Php 560), is composed of tender beef, baby potatoes and crispy shallots. It’s not your typical rendang that has sauce, as our’s was served dry. It was tender though and it had a lot of spices mixed to it. This dish was just okay to me. I only had a few and i grew tired of it.

Overall experience here was just so so.

We ordered about 5 dishes but I feel the need to single out this spectacular dessert. I will do a review of the others next time. :)

I give 5127775 for this dessert. It's called The Peanut. It has salted caramel peanut butter and lime meringue inside the vanilla ice cream shaped like a sphere then covered with red roasted peanuts.

The combination of taste for me is perfect, just the right amount of sweetness. The roasted peanuts added texture and the vanilla ice cream makes it refreshing.

128077🏼 A dessert like no other!

Option: We requested it to be sliced, good for sharing.

Though the food ain't that bad, it did not really meet my expectations; given what they charge for the food and the fact that it is located inside City of Dreams.

When one opens up this review notepad, a question automatically appears at the top that asks "Why should others visit this place?" Well, I don't know.

The food was OK, but for the price I expected more. Between the three of us we sampled 7 dishes; 3 from the appetizer menu, 3 from the mains menu and one dessert. But only the oxtail soup stood out as something relatively memorable.

I was immensely irritated by Red Ginger's insistance that we sign a waiver before they allowed us to take the baon. Just to ensure that we understood that the food would be less fresh when we ate it later than it was at the restaurant.

Good grief! How pretentious! The food was not that good! And some foods actually improve with a little 'aging'.

Apple and I often quote Julius Caesar after such an experience - "Veni, vidi, vici." which translates as "I came, I saw, I conquered." No reason to go back.

IMHO, of course. You may just enjoy it.

Was looking for a place to have a quick dinner without going to the buffet table and chose this as I saw a lot of families dining.

Ordered their Caesar Salad with a Vietnamese twist and their Angus Beef Satay (which comes with rice).

First, the salad was nothing spectacular. It was ok, but nothing to rave about it. Got it five minutes after ordering.

However, the Angus Beef Satay was taking forever. Forty minutes in and the order never came. How difficult is it to grill the beef?

Finally decided to cancel and just get out of this restaurant with such a lousy service. Talked to the manager and informed him that I will no longer wait for the order. He generously waived the salad and even offered the satay for free. Left instead.

It didn't taste like bahn mi. Just a regular sandwich stuffed with 2 thin pieces of pork with carrots and cucumber 128533 bread was too thick making it hard to bite. For the price of P290++ it's definitely a waste of money.

Also ordered a side of taro and sweet potato chips which was too oily. P170++ for a small bowl of chips. Servers were inattentive and you need to make several attempts just to get their attention even if you can see them huddled by the corner.

This place is sure one of my favorite since i love Indonesia food so much, I ordered the Grilled Chicken.

The taste really good, the aroma, the herbs, the grill everything are perfect, oh and the chillis come with three type & they are really good too! The Spiciness, the flavour all blends well.

( - )

The service.
It tooks so long to be served, well I always think perhaps good food come with patients along haha. But well the front dest not really friendly, it's just perhaps they are too stress with the crowd. It's located outside casino so the crowd, yes you can imagine it but still bearable actually, the waiting time only about 20-30mins.
The front desk should put more smile & control stress in cool manner, not so obvious even the customers could read it.

The temperature of the food.
Well who want to eat cold dish right? I don't know because of Aircon too cold or what but the dish come out not in hot temperature, even tho it's still taste good but if serve in Hot it will be more fantastic.

Overall,

You must try! :)

Really love their food especially their desserts! 10084️ For the main dish, I recommend their Honey and Tamarind Glazed Pork Belly, Nasi Goreng (spicy, please!), Stir Fried Squid and Pork Belly.

For dessert, I highly recommend: The Peanut, Thai Tea Creme Brûlée (Not really appealing but once you eat it.. HEAVEN! 128525) and their Intense Chocolate Cake. So please don't skip dessert when you decide to eat here 128513

Compared to other restaurants in City of Dreams, Red Ginger's price range is more reasonable -- considering the food quality, serving size, interiors, and all 128522

Like with every casino located restaurant I've visited so far, pricey meals with small servings and slow service (especially when it comes to the bill!).

However, the food slightly makes up for it. The Tamarind and Honey Glazed Pork Belly was on point with a melt in your mouth texture that made us order another one. Their Chicken Curry was pretty kickass as well. The sauce was spicy in all the right ways!

Everything else was so-so. We also had their Char Kwey Teow, Tuna Belly with Spicy Tomato Salsa and Wok Fried Morning Glory. My sisters really enjoyed the morning glory which is pretty much kangkong sautéed in garlic and ginger.

I spied in the table next to us an order of untouched ribs. Must not be good. It's a good thing we stayed away. All in all the experience was good. Nice ambiance but I doubt if I'll visit again anytime soon.
