Tried this another popular resto in Naga. We had Kare Kare, which was tender, meaty and creamy. The Pinangat was also delish and the Sizzling Seafoods was so-so. Not in photo is the Sinigang na Salmon, so-so.

The resto ambience seems more of a bakeshop/dessert place, but they have a small dining area inside.

They were ratef as one of the places to go and eat while in Naga. It was just okay, I had the sisig rice and sizzling pork tenderloin tips while my daughter had her share of barbeque which was a bit of disappointment in fact she just had one bite.

The dessert at least made up with the barbeque fiasco, we had leche flan and their pistachio sans rival and boy they were awesome!! The leche flan was ooohhh sooo creamy and the sans rival was huge and worth the price.

Typical Pinoy and Bicolano dishes, but everything that we've ordered was tasty.

Disclaimer: the succeeding rigmarole of words will mainly focus on the excellent service we recieved at Red Platter during our Bicol Roadtrip. And yes, this was ages ago.

I wrote about our Caramoan escapade a couple of months back. After the short-lived illicit love affair with the sea creatures, we decided to spend the night at Naga before we go to Cagsawa the following day. A friend at work is from Bicol and she said that no matter what happens we have to eat at Red Platter. She said this with convinction and ir sounded like a threat, like our life depended on it.

Red Platter. A household name in Naga, a restaurant that serves Filipino food. Upon entrance we were greeted by smiles and we were seated immediately. I forgot the food that we ordered but what stood out is the excellent customer service they provided. It is extremely rare for the wait staff to be attentive. Attentive in a sense that one doesnt need to ask for water, they fill your glass by instinct. And what impressed me the most is that the staff replies when you say "Thank You". Friendly and overflowing with courtesy. This is customer service. I know it ain't much to rave about but it made the experience memorable.

Went here to have dinner with boyfie while he's in Naga. It's our first time eating here so we really don't know what to expect. But the menu seems ok since it caters food we usually order at other resto.
Since he loves sisig so much and both of us want to try it, that's what we ordered plus red platter rice and barbecue.. I guess the sisig is 199 and bbq is also 199 (can't remember well. Sorry.), basta we paid 500+ for our order..
We super love the sisig topped with egg (sorry the picture doesn't show the egg on top of it cause boyfie's excited to mix it already before taking pictures. Hehe).. It doesn't have the overpowering taste of onions. Basta i super love it! 128516 128077128077128077
Barbecue was ok (4pcs+singkamas and carrots).. 128522128077
Red platter rice was ok too.. 128522128077

This restaurant is perfect for family dinners. They have cozy interiors and very homey aura. They also have secluded areas perfect for small gatherings with family or friends. 128513

One of the best places to eat in naga city. If you would also want to bring home pasalubong to your relatives at home, they offer packaged laing and bicol express at the counter.

I'm writing based on the subpar service we received from the Manager of Red Platter.

Due to heavy rains, we decided to stop at Red Platter and to have desserts there. Browsing their dessert selection, I was intrigued by their Mochamisu.

As an expecting mother, I specifically asked the lady server if their mochamisu had any liquor (alak) in it. She said it didn't contain any. I asked again, stating that traditional tiramisus contain alcohol. She said, again, that the mochamisu did not contain any alcohol.

I was very happy with my order and was even able to take a photo of it in its pristine condition. But upon tasting it, boom, there it was the taste of alcohol. I asked my husband and friend to taste it and they were able to detect the presence of alcohol.

The manager happened to be nearby. So we asked him if the mochamisu contained any alcohol, he said "meron daw".

We told him my situation. That I'm pregnant hence cannot have ANY alcohol. The manager said "Ok lang, konti lang naman". I think he also said that my two companions could eat the cake in my stead.

My husband couldn't contain his anger at the manager's blasè attitude and he said "buntis nga e. bawal alak sa buntis. Nakain na nia! Ano paluluwain natin?!"

Needless to say, the manager never came back to our table to apologize or what. He offered (via another waiter) to change cake order. But our moods and appetites have already been spoiled.

Personally, I was deeply disappointed. I've heard good things about Red Platter but because of this experience, we won't be patronizing this establishment anymore.
