12852312807710084

Red Ribbon's Cinnamon Rolls, Empanada, Mamon ( Ube and Butter), and Cheese roll. My fave food essentials for road trips or quick snacks eaten in the car.

It's Visita Iglesia time. We visited churches in the Laguna/Rizal stretch by following that lovely scenic route around the Laguna de Bay. While it is important to make small Lenten sacrifices, one cannot discount the fact that the summer heat will make any devout follower thirsty and hungry.Out of town Visita Iglesia can be a challenge on where to eat. Most likely, all town food establishments are closed. This is where Red Ribbon came in very handy.

I bought my favorite Red Ribbon baons before the drive this morning. Thankfully this branch was open.

Cinnamon roll- not the best in town terms of flavor and texture, but I find it quite satisfying. Dense brioche roll filled with melted brown sugar, raisins, and cinnamon spice. A quick perk up when your starving on the road.

Mamon ( both the Butter and the Ube)- I think Red Ribbon's Mamon is the best in town--bar none. Fluffy, soft, sweet, and buttery.

Cheese roll - I prefer Red Ribbon's cheese roll over their Ensaymada. Red ribbon has increased the size of this pastry which is good. I like the buttery , cheesy flavor with a touch of sugar with the soft fluffy dough. Beats my childhood addiction--toasted bread with butter, cheese and sugar .

Empanada- I like Red Ribbon's empanada. Again, I've tasted better empanadas (my fave being Lacson's Emapanada---sadly only available in Bacolod), but I enjoy the dense , slightly sweet crust of Red Ribbon's version. I also like the filling-- minced meat with a slightly sweet taste.

Good tummy fillers indeed. Sulit also for the price. Convenient for road trips or food stock at work or school.
