Still totally on the fence about my review so I'll give it 3 for now but here's the super confusing series of events so you can decide for yourself.
We arrived at about 2PM for the check in. We gave our reservation print out to the girl at the reception. 15 minutes went by and then 30 so I had to come up and ask what's taking so long? She said that the room is still being cleaned and it'll take about 10 more minutes. I was already a bit impatient at that time and by the 45th minute I've had enough and was asking the girl again what is happening. The check in is at 2PM And there are more than 10 parties here waiting to be checked in. They're not giving us any information whatsoever. Luckily the manager arrived so I talked to him and he apologized for the situation but still I said, our time is being wasted. Baguio isn't near and we could have been resting by this time. What was more irritating was they weren't serving on a first come first served basis, some parties went ahead of us. The girl said it depends on which room housekeeping finishes cleaning first 🙄 so after about an hour we finally got our keys and went up to our room.
In fairness, the room was fairly large. It had a queen size bed, a small balcony, flat screen TV and a lot of storage space. No hair dryer though so I had to request from the front desk. The bathroom was spacious as well but the bidet kept on leaking.
After resting for a couple of hours, we headed out for dinner however our car was trapped behind another car whose driver was MIA. Was in no rush anyway so we waited for another 30 minutes. Crazy thing was the car in front of us left his interior light on so if he doesn't show up then it'll be a bigger problem for him.
Was just about ready to get a grab when the manager approached us and told us that he called private car service to take us around for the night- to compensate for the delay in check in. I said that's great and he said it's the least he could do and he even offered us seats for their New Year's Eve
Event for the next night, free of charge as well and I said I'd think about it but thank you for the offer.
The next day, we availed of their breakfast buffet and it wasn't bad at all! Considering it was only $50/night, the spread was quite good with longganisa, rice, fried
Shrimp, egg, quezo de bola, fruits
Etc.
We went around for the rest of the day but our room wasn't serviced even though we put the door sign.
It also took 2 calls and again a personal appearance from me for them to bring a fresh floor mat. I don't know if it was just a series of unfortunate events or what. The manager himself was very nice and accommodating but the staff definitely needs some more training especially the front liners. Apparently the hold up during check in was due to all 39 rooms checking out at the same time and the housekeeping not able to fix all the rooms right away. She could've told us that then offered some refreshments or something instead of the guests getting irritated right?
Sorry for the super long review! Just had to explain this peculiar experience 128540

If you love an alternative place to stay in Baguio City, if you want to go away from the hustle-and-bustle of the city, visit Ridgewood Residences! They have apartelle-like rooms where you can cook inside! By the way, the hotel, including its immediate vicinity, is non-smoking. They are also near The Mansion.

Spent 2014 new years in baguio- first time not spending it at home in pque and it was truly one if the best decisions ren and i made.128077
What made us decide to celebrate it in baguio- just the 3 of us with drei? Coz my family wanted us to spend nye in pque and ren's fambam wanted us in caloocan... So we were like whattheheck lets just spend away from the metro!!!127775
We were in baguio from dec30-june1 so we were able to enjoy freezing weather in the coolest spot in the country.
We chose ridgewood based on the reviews and photos we saw online- and im glad we did as it was worth every penny! The deluxe room we got was roughly under P3000 (not bad at all!!) and we had an awesome view of the mansion and the upper part of wright park.
The interiors were just lovely- all wood and it was very homey and bright. The staff were all accommodating and they even gave us a discount card! The food was delicious, we had the breakfast buffet and they offered a wide range of cuisines from local to continental. Had lunch one time while we were waiting to check-in and im impressed since the pork chop i ordered was tender and their prices were quite affordable too.
They also had a fireplace that they lit up everynight and when we hung out there once after dinner, enjoying our hot chocolate, we felt like we were vacationing in the alps- in a log cabin with cocoa and smores9749127850
On new years eve, they gave out free biscottis, tea, coffee, cookies, and marshmallows..and all of us hotel guests were entertained in the main lobby with christmas music while watching the bright fireworks lit up from the mansion. I swear it felt like we were in a fairytale10084
As for the hotel, not only does it look straight out of a postcard, but their service/their location/their staff/their accommodations/their food are all amazing... and you bet we'll be back soonest!127748

It is a place with a cool and simple reception with a tranquil surrounding environment. It is an economy-class hotel. It has a view overlooking The Mansion.

Totally loved this place! The food was really really good!

I still gave it 5 stars despite its kinda old cr. I'm just really meticulous when it comes to comfort rooms. Moving on, the place was good as shown in my picture. The lobby got that homey feel to it and the staff was incredibly nice, prompt and attentive. They were still accommodating even though we arrived late.

The hotel was near the Mansion, Wright Park, Mines View Park and the Ketchup Community.

It's quite far from the city, but that's the way I like it :)
