My friend and I wanted to make the most our stay in the resort and we needed an excuse to dress up nicely for the night so we decided to have dinner here. 128569

Our dinner was absolutely excellent. The food, the ambiance and the people made the whole experience just great. Expensive, true, but they sure know how to give their guests the most value for their money. 128568

To start the meal, all guests are given a bread basket and an Amuse Bouche, which was a potato foam that night. The bread basket came with a selection of spreads and they were all awesome. The breads themselves were amazing! The appetizer was amazing too, I tasted a hint of Truffle Oil which brought out so much flavor on the dish. They really did get us more excited for our mains. 128569

I had the Spinach Risotto as recommended by our amazing server, Erica. She also recommended the Squid Ink Taglioni from their selection of pastas so my friend ordered it. Both were excellent! I absolutely loved the risotto, so creamy and wonderful with the cheese crisps and seared foie gras on top. OMG ansarap! It's so rich too! The taglioni was incredible! Every bite had the nice flavor of squid and the roasted cherry tomatoes gave it a slight sweetness. Delicious! The pieces of seafood put the pasta dish together! 128571

While eating, we were greeted by our server again and she told us about their chef. Chef Omar Ugoletti boasts of two Michelin stars before joining the team in Shangri-La Boracay. It sure manifested in the food. The ingredients they use taste fresh, amazing! And their pastas are hand made everyday. I really loved that. 128568

Excellent food + excellent service + romantic ambience = loved loved loved our first experience at Rima.

It was Pangga's surprise birthday dinner for me. Shangrila Boracay offers free shuttle from DMall to the hotel. Once we boarded the Shangrila van, we were treated superbly by the staff, we were welcomed to the hotel lobby, directed to the shuttle to the restaurant, then welcomed warmly again at the restaurant.

They made us feel at home, very attentive, not like the social, cold treatment at other 5-star hotel restaurants.

I ordered the steak, it was very good & i loved the foie gras & mashed potato, not so overwhelming, just perfect accompaniment to the steak.

Pangga's ordered Ravioli con guancia di vitello brasato al vino rosso, serviti con salsa di zucca e parmigiano e crema di tartufo or in English
Freshly-made Braised veal cheek ravioli, pumpkin and parmesan sauce, truffle cream. At first bite she whispered "ang sarap." That's rare from a chef w/ impeccable taste like her. The combination of all the varied tastes were perfect.

To top it off, Rima staff gave me a complimentary chocolate gelato cake for my birthday.

All in all, it was a perfect dinner for my birthday. Thank you Pangga and Rima for making it special.
