An unplanned getaway to Riverview Waterpark Resort in Asin, Benguet was fun. We discovered this Waterpark last Sunday, on a spur-of-the-moment decison to go swimming. Original plan was to visit a Museum (forgot the name!) but while on our way to the museum we saw the signboard going to Asin then my friend mentioned about the hotspring resort located in this town. We searched it on the internet, (btw thanks to Google Maps and Globe 3G) and in just one snap we were already driving all the way to the Resort.
First resort attempt: Palm Grove Resort Hotsprings. Arrived at 2:30 Pm. entrance fee is 100 Php. Day tour is until 5PM. Sad. We can't stay overnight as most of us have work the following day and aside from that their rate is a bit pricey for us- unprepared and in tight budget at that time (since we already spent our money for Pasalubongs during our Baguio trip). They have Additional fee for cottage rent and did not include the use of hotspring. Jaccuzi is 450 per hr. Expensive. 1st attempt failed!
We drove around and found our next stop - Riverview Mountain Resort.
2nd Resort: Riverview Mountain Resort. We were all gigling when we saw the big pools and Giant slides, this is it! Like the previous resort, entrance fee is also 100php. Day tour is until 5Pm. We were lucky that the resort staff allowed us to stay until 8PM and had to pay an entrance fee of 150php only (50 for extension), not bad. This includes free use of their cottage where you can choose from cabanas similar to bahay kubo, or tent with chairs and table for big groups. We got the tent since we're a group of 7 and just near the pool. I can't imagine that the resort is really too big. It has 10 pools and 7 slides. I like the jacuzzi pool as i want to sit back and relax while enjoying the ambience of its proximity to nature. The resort is also a hotel and restaurant. They offer wide choices of food in big servings and very affordable for less tha 150php. I ordered lechon rice toppings and surprised to see a big bowl of rice with over flowing toppings just for 120php. Their single serving is actually good for two. Their pancit and fried chicken tastes like North Park's and Savory's. Resort staff were all nice and friendly. Downside: no hot shower. I guess their hotel rooms have hot and cold except for communal bathrooms. Despite of no hot shower, all in all, this resort still deserves a 5 star from me because of its affordability, the hospitality of the resort staff, great food, and nature perfect ambience. 2nd resort is winner!
Riverview Mountain Resort is located in Asin, Nangalisan Tuba, Benguet. About 20 mins away from Baguio City. It is nestled between the Asin River and the Cordillera mountains.
