I love love love beef! Especially the red one that's super tender and whole, meaning not shredded! Like chunks or cubes! And homemade is the way to go. 128523

Roast does this perfectly well with their Homemade Corned Beef. Although it's kind of shredded, it's not as bad as the commercial canned corned beef. It's super flavorful! That salty seasoned beef flavor is such a win for me! And the touch of sweetened onions (not exactly what caramelized tastes like - a milder version) was just WOW! The first time I had this, I wasn't really sure if I liked the onions. I'd usually pick them out. But, when I tried it again from my mom's, it was something! And I had to get that in my next visit.

So now, may kalaban na ang Garlic Longganisa! Wahaha but I usually alternate my two favorites! 1008410084️ and if I'm not feeling like eating rice, I get pasta! Either the Carbonara or the Negrense Chorizo which are both winners! Simple ingredients that come together and are hella flavorful!

Most of their dishes here are simple and that's what I love about it! Plus the Instagram worthy plating and interior. Plus it’s well priced and well lit! Hehe

Lastly, if you didn’t know yet, the coffee here is an amazing picker-upper! Roast always turns a gloomy day to a sunny one!

Super yummy and affordable. We ordered so much pasta - pesto, aligue and chorizo! They all had more than enough sauce to make it really tasty! I also liked their tapa, bangus and BBQ. For dessert, I had affogato with 2 scoops of mantekadoice cream. 978697869786

It is always fun to roam around Katipunan and White Plains and stop by some of the small restaurants around the area. I recall doing a food trip in White Plains one Saturday with seven stops and I managed to stop by this quaint coffee shop called Roast.

Hello, Roast!

The place is quite small and could fit at most 10 diners. And that already includes the outside tables! It is probably around 20-25 square meters max.

The owner was there when we went. She was very passionate in coffee that she explained everything to us in detail. She even gave us samples of the coffee she carries so that we get to order the one that we like.

I got two samples with one having a slightly sour after taste and another with a hint of caramel and dark roast. I went with the latter which came in a decent-sized cup. (I feel so bad that I forgot the name of the coffee given how passionate the owner was when she explained it to us.) We also got Bibingka with Salted Egg (PHP100).

The bibingka had a nice fluffy texture. It was slightly buttery and it had a generous serving of salted egg bits.

It was quite a long time ago when I visited and I’m quite happy that they expanded their menu and now offers more dishes. I would love to go back here. But I’ll probably park at Pan de Amerikana and just cross to this place since parking here is limited.

I finally tried Roast because of Abbey A's many reviews and Elmer R's recommendation!128150

I initially got confused at which store was Roast... I remembered Abbey saying that they expanded... So they have two separate stores and they have tables over at the balcony... Difficult for the staff to man all areas when it's packed, methinks...

But when I got there early in the morning, I saw that there wasn't anyone there... I patiently waited until the staff emerged from the bowels of their kitchen... I asked for the menu and asked for suggestions.

I really wanted to try their truffle pasta, but it wasn't available... Why? Why!!!128514 So I just went with the staff's suggestion of Negrense Chorizo pasta (served at lunchtime) and an Iced Salted Caramel latte... It's really just a latte and you ask them to add the syrup...

I realized that I should have gone with the basics first before putting add-ons... My drink was too sweet for me, which improved as the ice melted and diluted the drink... The chorizo pasta was okay, pretty good serving... Adding a bit of salt and pepper makes it much better for me, but that may be by design (less sodium, you know the drill)... I realized that I have to come back for the truffle pasta, their bibingka, and to try their latte or their mocha!128522

If you do decide to drop by, be sure to be early... Or pretty late... The rate limiting factor for this joint is the parking... Small basement parking which gets filled up due to the banks and other tenants in the building... The parking attendants were a hassle to talk to, being very confusing regarding ummm hand signals... Plus they do get a lot of guests during lunchtime and according to the server, during dinner as well... But I appreciated the chill, quiet vibe of the place... And their many menu items as well!128515

Abbey A! You didn't recommend it to me pala!128517

Its small but cozy. They serve a lot of comfort food done well. It is a nice place to bring the family for brunch...likewise to bring the gang in for some beer and chow in the evenings. Anytime of the day you can bring your girlfriends in for bonding over coffee and bibingka. :) Food served is really affordable and is generally a great place to hang out. We had the garlic longanisa and the adobo flakes for lunch, coffee and bibingka for under p500. Will be back soon with the rest of the family.

I love Roast!

I am addicted to Truffle Pasta and Iced Coffee --- hence I ordered Truffle Pasta and Iced Coffee 128514128556

Their Truffle Pasta was different from the cream based with Fusili pasta version, which i'm used to eating. It was Olive Oil based with a very generous amount of mushrooms with Spagettini noodles. I liked it a lot!! Although my sister said it was too Truffle-y for her liking, but I guess it all depends if you like Truffle to begin with, cause I know a lot of people can't stand the smell 128563

The Iced Coffee (in photo) was made personally by the owner (who knows his coffee, I promise) and it tasted soooooo good. And look at the presentation, its so fun!!!!

This was actually not my first visit to Roast, and most definitely not my last. I've tried their Grilled Cheese Sandwich and their Bibingka (OMG BEST IN THE LAND) already and there are so many other things in their menu I want to try 128525

One thing I really like about Roast is it doesn’t pick a time for people to dine in. Breakfast, lunch, merienda, dinner, even night caps, they have a whole assortment of food and drinks to cater to all times of the day and the beauty of it is you can order any dish at any time of the day. Breakfast for lunch, pulutan for merienda. Do you prefer your coffee during the morning or enjoy an after dinner-coffee date in the evening? It doesn’t matter.

I have been dining here regularly and it’s nice to find a new favorite every time. Just last Friday, I was just supposed to have a coffee date with my boyfriend but then we ended up getting more than coffee and a small cake to share. We had additional orders of the grilled cheese panini and ughh THE CHICKEN SKIN. OMG no words. It is now part of my top 2, because I don’t have a third yet… haha but really can’t tell if it’s better than what I had in Pablo’s Pub. Definitely more sulit cause of the price and the serving but the taste I’d have to try Pablo’s again cause it’s hard to compare not having tried it in months.

This week, they are launching their new menu, which now has soup and new drinks, like the Kohi Kofi and Affogato with Mantecado. Can’t wait to try all that!10084️ #loolooexplorerpackgiveaway

I was looking for a place to have breakfast then I remembered that Roast opens early. Around 8am I was there and the resto sign says "Open" but the door's locked and there's no one inside. Nobody's answering their phone as well. Why the "open" sign and advertise that you open early? It's so misleading. 128530

Roast just expanded!!! Yay! They still have the same menu although last week they had to cut down their menu offerings because they were still fixing their kitchen. Now, they're back to normal. 128076

The bibingka paired with their batangas tablea tsokolate is heaven! 1 pot is good for 1, IMO 128055

Say hi to my new "the usual" 128075

It's even funny how I came across this. I asked for a Caramel Frappe but I was served a Salted Caramel one. I'm not a fan of Salted Caramel desserts but it's soooo good as a drink! I can't even! Aaaaahh! This is one of those rare occasions where I can say buti nalang they got my drink wrong! And I didn't ask them to change it anymore, even if they seemed like they would without hesitation make me a whole new one.

This is so on point! I can't get over it! 2nd time to have this, this week! Whenever I have good caffeinated drinks, like the ones I've had here in Roast, I always ask myself why do I still go to places like Starbucks?? Why??!? 128514128514

Liked this resto so much for their super delish bibingka and because they open so early at 7am! Servings like this Tuna Melt panini (P140) and Italian Sausage Pasta (P140.00) are good to share. Place quite small but cozy can seat 2 groups inside the rest will have to seat al fresco. Would like to try their adobo flakes and tapa and definitely their bibingka again next time it's that good!

First time to visit this place. I tried out their mozzarella quarter pound burger which was delicious especially when you place ketchup and caramba hot sauce in it. Would have been tastier if fresh tomatoes and lettuce were in it. Nevertheless, i'll definitely come back

Roast never disappoints! This time I tried something new, garlic longganisa (P95), which was sakto sa garlick-y and a little bit seared, almost burnt, the way I like it! And because I enjoyed the French toast from last time, I got that one too! With the homemade maple bacon (P145). The French toast was one ginormous slice of bread, instead of 2 small slices like before. It was nice to look at and even better to eat! And the bacon, which wasn't the crisp type, reminded me of tocino but more on the salty side than the sweet! Plus a large espresso frappe (can I call it the usual now? Hehe) Magnifique! 128076

I'm cherishing this place while it's quiet and chill. Pretty soon everyone will discover it and it won't be my little secret anymore. Good coffee and their bibingka is a must try! :-)

They're known for their coffee, but since it was almost midnight we had their mozzarella burger instead. Though a little small for my liking, it did pack much flavor. The patty was all-beef and not much extenders. The bun was lightly dabbed with butter which was a nice touch. And for php155, it's a great alternative compared to fast food burgers.

Will definitely come back for their coffee and desserts!
