It was a meeting with our engineer who happens to be a UP alumnus and who happens to work at Ang bahay ng alumni at Magsaysay road. At first i thought of inviting him outside for a working dinner but he suggested that there is a cafeteria inside (chocolate kiss as well)

I was surprised-- it's their cafeteria? It really looks cozy inside. Much like fine dining. I looked at the menu and smiled that it was also affordable. There's a function room that can accommodate around 15 pax at the far end of the resto.

128204 whiskey chops
This was my order and it kinda sucked. The pork chop was tough and dry. Whiskey sauce that was supposed to be the saving element for the dish tasted just okay. Whiskey? Nah.. oyster sauce? Most probably. Lol.

128204128525 baked salmon
I love this dish! The salmon got cream and cheese on top of it. It was not fishy so you need not squeeze lemons on it.

The ambience was bravo i could say. The place could also be a date place by the way. I like that it's warm inside as well. And yes, i've spotted looloo sticker by the door!

Heheeee. I've been eating here a lot (I always order RoC Burger). Right now I decided to try their cakes!!!

First one I tried was the Red Velvet cheesecake. It was sooooooooooo goooood!!!! Very creamy, fluffy, and the sweetness was just right. My sweet tooth was very ecstatic!

And on the photo is their bestseller also, Banoffee Pie. It was very yummy too! But I wished it had more bananas and less graham. But it was a-ok for me!

Cakes are a must-try here!

I left the office earlier than usual so I got to fetch my sister in UP. Since she was still in class, I decided to eat lunch while waiting for her. I've been craving Korea Garden's kalbi stew but I'm too lazy to drive all the way to Makati. I knew I had to eat in ROC (one of my go-to food places back in college) to try their kalbi stew and to satisfy my craving.

Upon entering, the waiter happily led me to a table and gave me the menu. I ordered their Kalbi Stew (P220) which came with rice topped with beansprouts. My food arrived around 15 minutes later. I was starving but I didn't really mind because I was busy browsing through my social media accounts. All thanks to the free wifi. :)

The food was so-so in my opinion. I was kind of disappointed because I wanted it to be more flavorful. The serving size and the tenderness of the beef weren't a problem but there was something lacking with the taste. I also didn't like the fact that the meat was swimming in oil. 128584

I wanted to have some cake for dessert but too bad, my favorite banoffee was unavailable. I left the place quite unhappy but at least I got to somehow satisfy my craving.

This bestseller is definitely the best! Way better than Banapple's Banoffee Pie since the crust here is edible and so so so yummy! A must try to all banoffee lovers out there 128077

Was supposed to have a meeting here but it got canceled so I ended up eating by myself (huhu). I ordered their chicken salad and watermelon shake. Their salad was bitter.. It didn't have any arugula in it but it was bitter and I could count how many teeny bits of chicken were in my salad. for P165 it definitely wasn't sulit. I could've gotten a better salad at Go! Salads 128547 Their watermelon shake was good anyway (a little too sweet but good). But their service left a lot to be desired. I wasn't greeted when I came it or left. The people had bored looks on their faces which made my enthusiasm to eat leave me. Could've gotten better food in Area 2 honestly huhu.

I like the fact that I am always treated nicely here. Servers are always attentive and helpful. Haven't been here in a while but its still pretty much the same.

My favorite here is the spicy tuyo and kesong puti panini. Unexpected, but its quite good. They serve it with a side of potato salad. I also like the fact that their coffee is affordable, this hot latte is just P65.

ROC is not the best out there, I prefer the food at Chocolate Kiss. But this place is quiet and peaceful, you can have meetings or even read and relax. I often end up here alone for some quiet time. They also have wifi and outlets if you need it.

The Garlic Chicken was really good! 128513 The meat was tender and the garlic sauce went really well with the chicken and rice. The buttered vegetables tasted bland along with the rice and viand. But all in all, I still enjoyed my food. 128077

Wi-fi was sucky though. And for some weird reason, my phone's LTE went all sucky too. Meh. 128542

Kalbi stew, garlic chicken and banoffee pie are highly recommended... Most of the dishes are no longer available though even if we arrived an hour before their closing..

For customer service, only one person serves as the waiter and the cashier.. I think he did his best to be at our service even if he's just alone..

Food - 3.5/5
Serving - 3/5
Customer Service - 3/5

I loved how tasty the pesto cream and how crispy the meat of bicol express. The blend of salty and spicy flavor of the bicol express was great. The banoffee pie was okay, and the banana was in the exact ripeness. I liked their strawberry cheesecake, tho I think that a little more texture and cheese would make it better.

The first time my boyfriend and I tried ROC was quite planned -- not out of spontaneity or something; we went there for my friend professor's book launch. The place isn't really for romantic dates, but for catching-up dates with friends and/or relatives. It's also great for small events, since the space is somewhat small; although, you can also use the outside tables. :))

We got to try their spaghetti and fish fillet. The fish wasn't too oily but, the serving size is really small. For dessert, we bought a slice of their Dulce de Leche and a slice of their Red Velvet cake. I loved their dulce de leche, it had the consistency of a thick egg pie, and it was smooth. Plus, the pastillas on top wasn't too sweet. Their red velvet, on the other hand, was overcooked at the bottom. The cake wasn't totally dry though; in fact, it was moist. And, the icing was really flavorful. Get this, the serving size is enough to satisfy one's cravings and the price is affordable.

Will probably go back and try other food from their menu! :)

The patty may be flavorful, juicy and tender just the way I like it but I still can't believe I paid 160 for such a small burger. I was also disappointed that it lacked condiments, and they didn't have mustard or ketchup available in squeeze bottles. I found myself dipping some of my sandwich in the ketchup meant for the fries.

It was good on its own but it really felt like an incomplete burger experience without the condiments and its size.

Also, their wifi wasn't working at all. I badly needed it at that time too. 128532

ROC, along with Chocolate Kiss, is one of the pricier joints in the UPD campus.

They still have student-friendly prices compared to UPTC. But of course, quite apathetic service. Oh well, what did I expect? Haha.

Ordered Fish Florentine. It's a baked cream dory dish with vegetables and spices, served with rice.

It wasn't bad. Nothing spectacular, but filling enough. Their vegetables were crisp and generous relative to the serving size. It wasn't nakakaumay as well, which is good considering it's a seafood cream dish.

Their banoffee pie was great! Affordable and not too sweet, it had the right amounts of cream and banana slices to hold the dessert together. Great way to end the meal!

We were supposed to go to the UP Fair at the Sunken Garden, but found it too stressing to get into a very loooong queue to buy tickets. We ended up eating some street food outside the fair instead. Too "suya" with isaw and fishballs, we decided to walk to Bahay ng Alumni to get some salad for a lighter option. When we got to Chocolate Kiss Cafe, it was packed, hence we took the opportunity to try out this restaurant for the first time. According to my research, they have salads anyway.

Upon entering the place, we thought the ambience was cozy enough. However, when the waiter gave us the menu, he suddenly told us the ALL SALADS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. We were like, "whuuuuut?". We were really disappointed, but were also too lazy and tired to go someplace else. So, we just ordered green tea and cafe latte. Later on, I saw that they have corned beef sandwich in the menu! It specifically said that it is made with home made corned beef slices, sauerkraut, with drizzle of horseradish mayonnaise in french bread. I was really excited since I've been looking for a place that serves a deli sandwich with sauerkraut and horseradish. When the sandwich arrived, however... HELLO MORE DISAPPOINTMENT! The corned beef chunks (not slices) were a little bland for my liking, and lo and behold, it was served with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and aioli! Where on earth is my sauerkraut and horseradish??? 128548

This was really a deal breaker for me. So I don't think I'll be coming back here. 128530
