Oh hello there, Rodic's! 128571128571128571

UP Naming Mahal, I have missed you so! I wanted to come back to the university for so long so we decided to go to church here. We were too early for the 11:00 AM service so my mom and I dropped by Shopping Center to have a quick breakfast.

I missed the Tapsilog so much! It was the same familiar beef tapa flakes over sinangag and their wonderfully malasadong sunny side up. Always a favorite and a classic, I am so happy the recipe has not changed! 128571

It definitely got more expensive now, but so has everything else, so I still think it's easy on the pocket especially for university alumni like me. It may probably be a different story for students.

This was the first place I ate in on my first day of college back in 2007. That was about 10 years ago but after taking a bite from my plate of tapa goodness, it felt like it was just yesterday. 128571

It feels so good to be coming back to UP after graduating. It brings back so much memories. And to be able to say that now I'm actually spending my own hard earned money, I still owe it all to this university. That Php 85 spent in Rodic's was the best expense on my last weekend visit to Manila. 128568

I was at UP for our homecoming but decided to pass by the old shopping center. I saw good old Rodics and decided to have some tapsilog. It still tastes the same from the first time I tried it during my college days. Memories of college came rushing back.

Lunch at the good old Rodic's. Convenient, affordable, and most of all, delicious! Too bad they are not serving unli-rice anymore - I still remember as a student, filling myself up with rice in this place haha. Always good to be back! 128523

There is no other tapsilog that could compare to Rodic's. If you haven't tried it yet, I feel bad for you. You are missing out on something incredible. I'm not overselling this, its just so good 128514

There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged 128150

Almost half a year outside the country, and I can't wait to go back!!! RODIC'S is still the best. The guaranteed quality and taste, combined with the palpable warmth of the place - its simplicity is its greatest asset. I don't know if it's the excitement to see various people from different walks of life, or the thrill of hearing conversations that are all too familiar....... BUT ALL THE FACTORS JUST WORK WELL TOGETHER. It was a very rich experience, much like the first. Dining with friends made it much more memorable.

More than the satisfaction the food gives (hello, TAPA!!!), I think it'll always be a great experience because it mimics HOME.

P.S. super affordable + super delicious + lutong bahay goodness!!!

Tried Rodic's famous Tapsilog today! Rodic's Diner may be found sa shopping center in UP Diliman, near the health service. They have 2 stalls na magkatapat, and when we are here at 3pm wala masyadong tao. Or maybe because vacation parin din nila.

Anyway, the Tapsilog was good but not the best one I've tasted. Siguro I expected too much rin. Pero for a price of P85, sulit na siya. 1 plate is filled with rice as seen from the picture, and tama lang yung tapa and egg as ulam. Although medyo natamisan ako sa Tapa. My friend said it tasted like Adobo Flakes. 128522

Would I eat here again? Yes. Especially when I'm hungy and looking for a sulit place to go to 128513 also, malapit rin siya sa Mang Larry's isawan siguro mga 2min walk lang 128556

Rodic's Tapsilog (PHP85) will always be the best in SC! 128523

I just don't like the attitude of some servers and the cashier lady. They were not friendly. Parang galit pa. 128533

I miss their tapsilog! That have a stall in our registrar at UP Manila. 128516128516

Such a great meal for the wallet of a student back during my college days! Definitely a five star for this! We even got to experience how they got more expensive and we got really mad about it. We moved on because we got no choice and we still buy and buy. 128514

Rodic's in between a bunch of errands 128541

I've always liked Rodic's but hated the tapa:rice ratio-- there's too much rice for the tapa! I end up having a bunch of rice leftover.

Yay for the fast & efficient service! Also they were very honest- I paid with a 1000 bill instead of a 100 one, and when they handed me my change I thought they were mistaken. Turns out I really did pay with 1k and not 100 haha oops. Good thing they were willing to give me my correct change even after the mix-up 128516

Being from Cebu, I had no idea the tapsilog here would look so different from the ones we have back home but it did. My friend insisted that I try eating here as apparently, this is an iconic UP food place.

I first tried their sisig and it was delicious although it was nothing special, to be honest. It was just like any good old sisig that I've tried from other tapsilogans.

As for their tapsilog, like I've mentioned, it looked different, kind of like a cross between ground meat and pork floss. It was definitely yummy and something you don't find anywhere else. On the downside, it is really oily.

All in all, I like Rodic's. This is like a store you go to to satisfy your tapsilog cravings because nothing else will do. At P85, it's not that expensive but for a student (or maybe things are just cheaper in Cebu?), I don't think it's practical to eat here everyday.

tapsilog and baconsilog were my breakfast last Sunday after running.

service was fast. tables are vacated immediately since the place is not really for hanging out.

our order took five minutes to be served since they still fry the bacon upon ordering.

dinuguan was okay. not too sour just okay. meat was generous and fat bits were not that much.

no frills dry sweet tapa to satiate my tapa craving. the bf tried the baconsilog since he was not into the tapa mood. no complaints from our end.

I had low expectations when I ordered this Tapsilog. I had to have it again the next day, it was that good (and cheap!) Just awesome. A classic UP comfort food.
