Rodic's will always be one of the things that scream UP to me. Such a nostalgic place since it always brings back memories from my freshman and sophomore years. But it's not always comfortable and even possible to eat in the Shopping Center branch 'cause it's usually full. So lucky for us, there's one now over at UP Town!

Beef Tapa is /the/ must order here, which is what I decided on after I also got tempted to order lechon paksiw. Haha. The beef tapa is shredded so it's soft and easier to chew. It's slightly on the sweet side so if you're not as okay with that, there are bottles of vinegar by the counter! Haha

The tapa is served with rice and egg and costs Php99. I added Php25 for iced tea. Pretty cheap and came out pretty full!

Their tapa was pretty good. I would say it is more on the sweet side rather than the usual salty side but nevertheless yummmy!

The tapa was grounded up kinda like corned beef and it came with rice and a sunny side up egg

The orders came quick and it was super cheap 99 pesos?!? Wow! Solve.

Rodic's holds a special place among UP alumni who've had the pleasure of eating their trademark tapsilog and other offerings. Admittedly, it doesn't have a special place in mine 128513

I only ate there once during my UP days, probably their tapsilog was half of the current P99 price here. But for P99, it's still affordable IMO. Practically, all are P99 there, from sisig to liempo (grilled pork belly) to sinigang.

I got to try,

Tapsilog - pretty solid, it's the small bits style of tapa, durog to speak. Salty Savory, not bad. It's not my favorite tapa, (I miss Mr. Jones), but it's okay. 3/5

Sisig - good tasting. With egg too for that mushy sisig taste. On a sizzling plate. Reminds me of Aysee without the margarine, which is a good reference point. 4/5

Liempo - a bit dry. Nothing worth writing about. 2/5

Pork Sinigang - just got to try. Pretty decent, 3/5.

Rodic's exterior is nice, with a reference to UP's Oblation outside, but inside, it's just simple and clean, like a nicely done and maintained canteen. It's counter order, too, so line up, pick your orders, then pay up. They'll deliver the orders to your table. The service is very fast. Tapa in less than 5 minutes, other dishes between 5 to 15 minutes. Excellent service.

I was happy to reminisce and hang out here with my HS barkada who all went to UP, and we entertained a balikbayan couple na ka barkada, too. It's more sentimental to my friend, but in truth, he remembered it was better before. Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't, but these things do tend to happen especially when it's been years or more in between. 128522

For me, my best UP memories in the culinary perspective belongs to Beach House. But this doesn't take away anything from the institution that Rodic's is for many UP alumni and QC residents. Since 1949, too, so there's something to be said in admiration for longevity.

Oliver and I are laughing at ourselves the other day because we found ourselves in Rodics, at UP Town Center. In his words, "nasa UP Town Center tayo tapos sa Rodic's lang din tayo kakain" haha. 128514 The reason: my sister (who lives in Makati) is craving for Tapsilog. When we entered the place, to our surprise, it retained the "carinderia" look of Rodics! Love it. At least the mall is now becoming or attempting to be a REAL UP Town Center with the opening of Rodics and Chocolate Kiss. 10084

These restaurants are found on the new wing of the mall, which I am quite excited to explore soon!

Oh by the way, we all got Tapsilog. Same old goodness 128523128523128523

Woot woot! There's a Rodic's in UP Town Center! No need to fret if you're on a budget but still want to eat well in UP Town Center. Rodic's saves the day! The silogs are P99 as well as the 'lutong bahay' dishes like caldereta, menudo, sinigang na baboy which also come with a serving of rice. You can't beat that price.

By the way, I got their famous tapsilog. Sarap! We also ordered caldereta and menudo but didn't get to take pics.

Meeting my friend at UP Town Center this gloomy afternoon and decided to have an early dinner at Rodic's. Oh how missed the beef tapa of Rodic's, remember those days...

For Php99.00 each we got tapasilog and add Php25.00 each for our drinks.

Sinigang na bangus is home-cooked goodness and so is the Menudo! 128155
Place is more comfortable compared to their UP shopping center branch. :)

Who doesnt love rodics?! This branch is prolly the same size as the one they have in UP shopping center, but its cooler and more comfortable. Silog meals are priced at 99php, and their lutong-bahay meals are priced between 80-125php.

If its your first time here, definitely try their tapsilog (tapa flakes, garlic fried rice, and eggs-your-way) and sizzling sisig.
