Pictured is the crab and corn salmon maki which was one of 3 salmon makis - all salmon, salmon and egg.

I got the pork tonkatsu - which was delicious!!! Crispy breading that wasn't falling apart with shredded cabbage dressed with sesame dressing. Sooooooooo good!!!

My sister got the gyudon, my nephew the tonkatsu ramen, and my niece got the katsudon. The OMG roll lived up to its name, according to my niece 128514 it had crab and shrimp so I couldn't eat it. I loved the gyoza too.

Not too impressed with the service but understandably it was packed so they were busy.

Have to come here 128525128523128523128523

Stopped by for some sushi while waiting to be picked up. I had their Roku Roll and a glass of iced tea. Their Roku Roll would have been okay if it weren't for the wasabi mayo on top. I dunno why but it wasn't as good as it used to be 128531 I found the whole thing too spicy and had to wipe off most of it. Wasn't worth the P260 to be honest 128547

VERDICT: will go back and i suggest you try it once if you love japanese food

We enjoyed our dinner here upon ordering

Salmon spicy salad (in the pic) shouldve been tuna no stock
Good but the bottom was like kimchi sauce which was spicy and sour which i didnt like at all

Firecracker sushi made with salmon and crunchy things with cheese
This was absolutely to die for

We shared pork katsu curry and the sauce and rice was yummy pork quality and chicken quality could be better.

I asked for cold tea and they charged me 65php for it?!?!?
Never happened in other restos kainis

The 2nd time i went here though the salmon didnt feel fresh at all. Parang matigas and na overcook din cause some parts became semi cooked. TURN OFF

RoKu never ever disappoints! It's been a long while since I last ate here but still, the place really offers good, delicious, happy food that's worth all your penny! Swear!

My BFF and I ordered this Firecracker Tuna Roll for almost 300php and for a serving of 8, it was so so so good!

The tuna was served sumptuously on top and in the middle as filling nyam nyam nyam! What made the Japanese rice in the roll really delicious to the wildest that it made us both crazy was the cheese in it! Oh my oh my this is really a must try! 12815512815310084128156

We had the OMG roll which had blow torched salmon on it. I loved it so much except that it had mayonnaise, which I am not a fan of.

Ramen was ok considering the price. Katsudon was great, according to my friend who ordered it. He even dared compared it to that of Yabu's. Tempura was just okay, nothing special.

Roku has really good and fresh sushi. I especially liked the crunchy kani with wasabimayo or roku sauce. I also had the katsudon. It was too salty.

Our 16th wedding anniversary dinner at Roku Sushi and Ramen. Located at 5th floor Oracle and Residences in Katipunan.

After we had fun celebrating out anniversary at Breakout, we walked few blocks away and we finally tried Roku.

It's a nice place Japanese resto along Katipunan. The place was full that time. We had California maki, ramen, Tonkatsu , and the highlight was the Black Mamba sushi roll! Price is only 329 pesos , the best sushi I've ever tasted, very unique and sticks on your taste buds.

Service was fast , staffs are accommodating and they have wifi. Definitely will come back here for the black mamba!

I think Roku's a bit underrated! Haha tried it the other day and I was pleasantly surprised with the food, the service, and the restaurant itself.

The restaurant's very bright and airy, and there's lots of space for customers. The staff are really friendly and always smiley!! 128513

I ordered salmon sashimi (6 pieces) and kani mango salad without the Japanese mayo and they both were really good and fresh. The salmon was melt in your mouth. 128523 While the salad could've used a lot more mango, the amount of kani compensated for it.

Miso soup
Green tea (cold)
Agedashi tofu
Ginza roll

Spent round about PHP 500 incl VAT and SC

We got free dessert because the gorgeous owner loves us - yummy coffee jelly in vanilla ice cream.

Ginza roll were perfect bite sized pieces plus had that nice cool cucumber kick in it.
Agedashi tofu was a light delight with such an uplifting sweet sauce

One thing - house tea should be a thing :)
Other than that I recommend my entire order :)

Super tiny servings whyyyy 128557128563 We had their Roku Roll & chicken teppan! Didn't get full lol the chicken teppan wasn't even good for one person and it was P200+? It was goood but super unsatisfying.

Service was good though!! They have free wi fi and outlets. Plus I like their location. 128522 Their servings are just way too small for the price.

The cheese kani tempura is yummy! But the ramen was just so-so. I think it's the noodles.. They're too fat for ramen. Miso based soups were better than the shoyu based.

This time I liked my visit because the salmon sashimi with salmon skin was really good. Had hot Japanese tea with it. That's all I had. We decided to come back here because it is one of the few quiet places along Katipunan Avenue where we can hold pocket meetings with clients.

Thanks for the space, Roku.

Second time I've eaten here.... Final conclusion: Save for the dessert, sushi and sashimi, this place is blah.

Tried their specialty ramen (sho yu, churasu)...pork in soy broth... So-so. Pork was soft but the broth leaves much to be desired. The noodles were typical.

I figured I would spice up my ramen with some tempura... Wrong! The tempura was awful... I could taste the oil and thickness of the batter and nothing else... The shrimp flavor did not pop in my mouth like it should. Tempura masters would be rolling in their graves... Tsk-tsk.

Saving grace for this visit was the fresh and always yummy salmon sashimi. And the Japanese tea was good. The iced tea was also soothing though it was a typical pre-mixed iced tea (not brewed).

The hot green matcha latte was so-so (needs more vanilla in it or creaminess).

:( sad day for Japanese cuisine today... Roku dishonors the technical mastery of the Japanese... Oi.

Don't expect mindblowingly good Japanese food when you go here, because most of their offerings are good enough but not spectacular.

I dunno if it was a bad day for them or the fact that we went a little late (we arrived at around 9:15 and they closed at 10 that day), but the food was kind of disappointing.

We split a Fuji Roll, which was kani and cucumber topped with salmon. Gone in less than 2 minutes. Probably because 1.) we were really hungry 2.) the sushi rice was falling apart so we had to eat the whole thing in one bite 3.) it was really small. We were so surprised nga that it came like 3 minutes after we ordered. They probably made it so fast that it started to fall apart. Lol. Flavors were okay naman though, salmon was understandably not the freshest as it was nearing closing time.

I had the tonkatsu and my sister ordered the teriyaki don. The tonkatsu tasted like it had been fried twice in some over-used oil. Bleh 128534 I wasn't expecting naman Yabu levels of crispy katsu but this wasn't good at all. It seemed to be 3/4 breading 1/4 meat. Oh well, I still ate half of it because I was reaaally hungry. Hahaha.

I like their ambience and the fact that servers were so nice to us despite us being the last customers 128522 It's not the best Japanese place around, but if you're like me and always in the Katipunan area (which sorely lacks an Omakase grrrr) and appreciate a spicy tuna roll every now and then, it's a good option!

Wow.

The food here rocks! I got the miso based pork ramen ... Thick soup but good. On other days when I prefer a lighter soup, I will get the soy-based one which my friend got. Yummy. My other friend got the sukiyaki tasting one... Nice as well. We tasted each other's ramen haha. By the way, a bowl can be shared by two people. :)

What really blew my mind away (aside from the nice fresh salmon sashimi and the ocean rolls) was the dessert! Finally! A Japanese restaurant with kick-ass desserts!!! Try the green tea cheesecake (to die for!) . I like it better than the (fried) mini apple pie rolls with ice cream (don't remember its exact name but that's what it is).

Staff fairly pleasant and helpful. They were very tolerant of my hyperactive two-year-old who thoroughly enjoyed the wall cartoons/artwork at the place and the chairs which were perfect for his iPad stuff :)

Thanks, Roku! Will definitely come back... Whether it's for the ramen, sushi, sashimi or Japanese dessert... Ooh, I will definitely come back!

Roku is just another Japanese restaurant though it's a bit cheaper compared to other establishments. It is kinda hidden because it's located in the 5th floor of Oracle Katipunan. The place is very minimalist which gives a good ambiance, they also have a nice al fresco area for smokers. I always order their American Dream Roll! As far as I know, only Roku and Omakase are the only Japanese restaurant which offers this kind of sushi, and it makes me come back whenever I crave for one. Roku offers a wide menu of Japanese Ramen and Sushi.
