Yes. Usapang kape muna tayo.
This one is their americano. Normally ordered hot, but special request to have it cold and they’re amenable.

Got to stay here to unwind, and wait for the time so i could have one on one meeting with my prospect client.

The place outside is cool, as in the afternoon around 5pm, under normal circumstances ha. I like the outdoor vibe,

Americano sucks though. I mean yeah, i get it, this is not a coffee shop after all hence the review only for the coffee.
Price at menu says 90PhP but then it turned out to be 121PhP. Why? I did not know that they’ll be adding another 20PhP for cold drinks— maybe that’s what they should have informed me.

PLACE:

Place is nice. Kinda posh but not intimidating.

FOOD:

Tito Greg's Kare Kare: Super yummy! Sauce was thick and you can really taste the peanut. Meat was so tender, it almost melts in your mouth.

Crispy Squid: This is a must try! Super crunchy and tasty! You can eat it with or without rice. Super yummy. I would love to munch this one anytime of the day. You won't regret trying this.

Chicken Adobo: Sauce was separated from the meat yet you can still taste the adobo flavor in the meat with or without the sauce. I rarely eat adobo specially if it's not cooked by my Dad but Romulo's adobo didn't disappoint me. They probably fried the chicken after cooking it in adobo sauce since you can see how beautiful the color of the chicken is.

Shrimp: I forgot the name of the dish but this one is so good as well. Shrimps are fresh and sauce doesn't overpower the natural taste of the shrimps.

Lechon Kawali: Crispy skin and tender meat. Sooo good!

Molo Soup: This is sooo good also. I just wish there had been more molo.

PRICE:

Quite pricey but definitely a good value for your money.

SERVICE:

Friendly and accommodating staff. Very attentive as well.

VERDICT:

Did I enjoy it? - Yes
Will I recommend it? - Yes
Will I come back? - Yes

Romulo's cafe is Azumi Boutique Hotel's restaurant on the ground floor. This place serves family style filipino food for a reasonable price.

I LOVED my ginataang hipon sa kamias. Shrimps were fresh, and thecoconut broth burst with flavour. The other dish we had was the lengue in red wine sauce. I liked this too not because the sauce was flavourful, but because the lengua was cooked very well.

The quality or the food here is great, and the service is tops.

The AZUMI BOUTIQUE HOTEL offering a Free Buffet Breakfast for two at Romulo's Cafe when you booked/stayed for a night there.
Romulo's Cafe have many variants when it comes to breakfast, they have cereals, breads, fruits and vegies, maybe a 4-5 dishes, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, juice. Almost everything you're looking for, for breakfast. I love the spread station, they have almost all kinds of cheese from white cheese to cheddar cheese. The ambiance are too good also, it gives me a positive mood staying there for an hour.

Filipinos often look for home cooked meals whenever they go out for fine dining. It's probably a popular contradiction and Manila is littered with quite a number of establishments that cater to such cravings. Romulo Cafe is one such place. Great food. Friendly sevice. And a chique ambiance that one would not automatically identity with a historic figure; President Carlos P. Romulo. My personal favorites are their Sisig Rice and their Prawns in Aligue (crab fat) Sauce. Dishes that are dangerously delicious. You'll probably die with a smile on your face.

Buffet breakfast was the most terrible buffet breakfast I've ever had. Poor service, had to get our own placemats, utensils and even water. Food was very slow to get refilled. Food was also substandard. Will never eat here again.

Our family enjoyed the food and the ambience. From the Kare-Kare to the Binagoongan Boneless Crispyy Pata..yum! The drinks were really refreshing specially the cucumber cooler..and for dessert we were surprised that the Mini Sans Rival was not Mini at all!! Yum! And the good news is I would think that it is reasonably priced. A good dining experience.

Such a quaint little cafe'. I love the quiet grace that this restaurant exudes. Letters and pictures of the late Carlos P. Romulo adorn the walls and take diners on a trip through part of Philippine history. For a man small in stature he was certainly a giant among world leaders. Much like the man, their menu is brief but the dishes stand out. And among those stand outs, my favorites are the Flying Tilapia and Chocnut Ice Cream.

Unlike any other fried and filleted tilapia, their Flying Tilapia is made to look like it has wings. Very creative presentation. Perfectly fried and seasoned, it comes with 3 sauces to highlight the fish; vinegar calamansi, chili and sweet bagoong. I find that mixing all three makes for a winning combination.

The Chocnut Ice Cream does not disappoint either. As expected, that distinct chocnut taste lends itself to this dessert. That said, the flavor is not overpowering but subtle.

To quote the late statesman, “I was convinced that luck was a matter of knowing what one wanted and then being willing to work to make the wish come true.”

From my perspective Romulo Cafe' has lived up to that!

My first time to dine here... Will definitely go back and bring my friends! I loved the Crispy Binagoongan, with eggplant & kangkong, the Pomelo Salad with Strawberry dressing, the garlicky baby squid. Sisig triangles and gising-gising. Haaay, wonderful food & ambiance!!! Happy!

The place was really pretty! As you can see, very picturesque and instagrammable. 128525

Now for the food!
We checked in Azumi and they were offering an exclusive rate of breakfast in Romulo's for 350 pesos. That's not bad at all for a buffet. We're game.

Saturday AM buffet- we came in at 10 am. We were pretty hungover so we woke up late. 128539
Sadly, the food was almost gone because it's their last batch of food for that morning. 128532 still,we wanted to make the most out of it,so we still ate there.
They had salad, tapa, bacon, scrambled eggs, cold cuts with cheese, sinangag, pandesal and pancakes.
Bacon was the best. Haha
We wanted more bacon pero wala, you snooze you lose. Hahahaha 128557

The next day,we made sure we woke up early!!!! 128513 Gameface on. LOL

Sunday AM buffet-medyo malabo.
They had sushi, mantou (yung white bread ng siopao),shabu shabu, braised pork, chicken noodles with bell pepper, fish fillet, eggs, rice, bread.
My boyfriend and I didn't get the theme. Chinese ba to or Japanese? 128514
Haha he said mas "breakfassy" yung kahapon. He was right. This batch was more like, whatever is in the pantry, that's what we'll cook. Hahahaha

I liked the braised pork though. Tasted like patatim na pork. 128515

Overall pretty good for 350. And it's convenient. Since you don't have to go out and look for places to have breakfast.

Had breakfast buffet for only P350. They don't have much options but almost everything tasted good. My favorites were:
-Tapa
-Bacon
-Scrambled Egg
-Cold Cuts
-French Toast

I ordered Strawberry Cheesecake on top of what I paid for buffet and I regret it. I should have just ordered the dome cake I ate the day before.

Celebrated my birthday here with my family. Food was just ok, pricey considering their serving is small. Ordered 1 whole General's chicken but I was surprised to see a measly sized chicken which is only good for 2 pax. Service also needs improvement. What's good about this resto is the nice ambiance, that's it!
