A trip to Tagaytay always includes a stop over at Rowena's, I like the fruit tarts here plus the other pasalubong stuff they have. Traffic was horrible so we decided to have lunch here as well.

Since it was pretty hot and humid, we decided not to get the bulalo soup 128533 and instead ordered the grilled squid, palabok & sizzling bulalo steak... Everything tasted so good 128525 The squid was done perfectly and the bulalo was super tasty! The palabok was saucy, just the way we like it 128077🏼 One thing I didn't enjoy much was the watermelon shake, it was loaded with syrup making it unbearably sweet, I had to add water twice just to make it right.

Service was a bit slow since it was full house, seems like a lot of people went to Tagaytay for the holidays 128514

Whoever said the cheese tarts were good has got to be kidding. Ugh, tasted like there was more flour than cheese. This is definitely not a cheesecake, which I thought it was. Is it a cheese tart? Different from a cheese cake? Well whatever name it uses, I really didn't like this. It was very cheap anyway. less than 50 pesos I think.

The buko pie was very good though. Just get these when you're here. Tastes almost the same as the ones Tagaytay-based nuns would bake and bring to my Lola's house, which they made way before Rowena's carried these. The ones made by the nuns were a little bigger and had more buko in them.

Ive only been here twice. Once many years ago because my friends wanted to pass by but I didn't buy anything from here. We're not pasalubong shoppers anyway. Last week we decided to try these out for a quick dessert. Good thing we just bought 2 pieces and not a whole box. Don't think we're coming back.

I just found out that Rowena's has a cafe. 128513

Went to the bakeshop for some pasalubong. Aside from their own baked pies and pastries, they also sell the country's famous kakanin, snacks, and other products. They have dessert wines too! 127863

What is Rowena's without their Buko Tart?

Went here imagining eating their buko tart, only to find out they were out of stock. Why, Rowena, why?

Had their blueberry cheesecake instead. It was pretty good.

Tried their iced caffe latte and white choco mocha. They were just okay for me, nothing spectacular.

Will still come back though, to drink their coffee with their buko tart. Coffee might taste better if they have buko tart on stock.

Their cafe offers rice meals, pasta and other Filipino dishes.

We went here for a quick merienda and to buy pasalubong for my family.. So hubby ordered latte while I ordered sylvannas and tart.

Their sylvannas were good! With just the right amount of butter and sweetness. Hubby even had an extra order for himself. We also ordered the ube tart 128077🏼128077🏼 The ube tart got a lot of ube filling! Yummy! Which is why we also bought boxes of it for our pasalubong. Hehe!

They also have other pastries/cakes available on display.

Stop over at Rowena's Tagaytay after a long drive at Canyon Cove yesterday aftenoon. Tagaytay was so traffic yesterday and were hungry so we dropped by at Rowena's to buy pasalubong for us and for relatives .

Won't leave without the cheesecake tarts. Cost 180 pesos and now they have mixed flavors : mango , strawberry and blueberry 127819127827127815 for 180 pesos 6pcs per box. Then bought buko pie and special espasol. I love the new Rowena's, so big, and very systematic , I love this place 10084128077

Ehhh...was okay. Would drop by for their tarts but that's just it. I find their dishes overpriced and plain.

Going home from Tagaytay? Be sure to drop by at Rowena's for their famous Tarts. Made famous by word of mouth by people from Metro Manila. 128516

My personal favorite is the Blueberry Tart as the hint of acidity complements the sweetness well. The other flavors—like the mango and strawberry are good, too.

If you’d like to take a short break, some of their outlets also have a small cafe, letting you take a break from your long drive home.

Next time you’re passing through Tagaytay, skip the endless identical buko pie shops and try Rowena’s instead.

A visit to Tagaytay will not be complete if you didn't visit Rowena's. They have wide variety of pasalubongs and their buko pie is one of my favorites. Sharing you a story, I used to like Colette's but during college one of the the group decided to do thesis in one of their branches and we are so shocked to see flies just sitting on top of the pies in their backroom/storage room. Never did I buy Collete's since then. And so I thought Rowena's have a cleaner, decent, presentable, reputable front-liners and concluded that they are not as nasty as C. I wouldn't know. 128513
