I LOVE ROWENA'S BLUEBERRY CHEESE TARTS!

Perfectly made, with so much love, as I felt it, I really loved how its flavors come so well, altogether.

The tart itself was soft, chewy and tasty. With the cheesecake flavor on top of it comes a really balanced taste of cheesiness that doesn't taste too much, or that less. The blueberry on top wasn't too sweet too, perfectly coming along with all the other flavors.

I am not a fan of cheesecake tasting items but this one is definitely on the list of my favorites now!

So-so breakfast for hotel priced meals... The chicken Tocino was currylike and the chicken was dry...should've just called it something else and not tocino... for 209php...

Ooohhh!!! so happy with my mom's pasalubong tonight!!! I'm such a sucker for almost all of their tarts!128525128525128525 my mom knows this and it has become automatic for her to grab a few when she is in the area... Or else she wouldn't hear the end of it!128513128513128513

I like their pastry, as in the crust of the tarts... Very thin and light, perfect for all the toppings to just pop!128077 They have several varieties of these tarts (and pies too) and I will happily mention them!

First they have a cheese tart... This is sort-of like a cheesecake, can melt if left in a hot car for long... These have different toppings-- strawberry, mango, pineapple, and my favorite, blueberry!128150 these aren't too sweet with a nice silky texture! I have to stop myself from eating too many at a time...

They also have a chocolate tart-- which has a chocolate crust and a chocolatey filling... Same silky texture! not too sweet either...128525

Lastly, they have these mini pies, but still considered as a tart in their establishment! These have a more substantial crust, with a fruit filling, and topped with a crumble made from a mix of flour, sugar, and cinnamon... It provides a bit of crunch to an already good pie... These are available in apple, pineapple, mango, buko, and ube... Apple is my favorite! best eaten when heated with a side of coffee!

They also have pretty good buko pie, btw! 128522

They offer lots more forms of pasalubong to suit different tastes! But I just think you can't go wrong with their pies and tarts! delicious!128525

I'm guessing which branch these goodies are from... the only sure thing is that half the box is already gone by the time this review was written!128525 addicting!128522

Rowenas.

The go-to place for pasalubong in Tagaytay.  Stopped by for Grams cassava on our way back to Manila.

Bought the classics,  Buko Tart,  Cassava Cake, Silvanas and Cheese and Mango Tart.  I used to love the Buko Tart but it seems that the quality dwindled a lil bit.  The pastry is stuffed with the artificial filling insted of the coconut.  I think Amira's tarts is way better.

Silvanas.  This is okay.  I prefer the ones sold in Dumaguete though, better quality at a cheaper price.

The cassava is okay as per my standards. Grams said the the one given by Jairus d is way better. Yes, she is the Gordon Ramsay of Cassava Cake.

Cheese and Mango Tart.  I love this pastry! I'm such  sucker for anything with cheese and mango.  Pastry filled with cream cheese filling,  topped with mango mixture thingy.  Cream cheese and mango is a good flavour combination as the latter adds  little sweetness which enhances the flavour of the former.  The pastry is a lil uneven.  Thicker on the bottom.  I learned this while watching Masterchef for x number of hours yesterday.  The girl who replaced Joe is a pastry chef.  I looked closely as she scrutinized the uneven pastry of one of the contestants.  Man, she is viscious. 128522

4 stars for the Cheese and Mango Tart.  I hope Rowena's continue to be more innovative with their products.   They have solidified their brand in the market,  they need to be consistent in the quality of their products.

P.S.  The Buko Tart needs a lil revamp.

Best buko tart ever! But please note it's the only buko tart I know and have ever tasted. But I love it very, very much nonetheless.

I never miss out bringing some home from every Tagaytay trip.

we all know rowena's is popularfor its tarts.
i,m doing a review of breakfast
their very own "big breakfast"
chicken tocino:
it was quite dry. i could say that' the breast part or the wing part...
their beef tapa is not that tender. mejo gooey..
the tuyo was great. served beautifully with local tomatoes. atsara was a good pang patanggal ng umay.
no drinks at 290.... value for money not good.
the place was big. no view of the taal.
i like the original branch more.

The Mango Tart was a complete total melt down of my expectation. 128529 I was about to buy a dozen but tried one first. (good decision). Appearance's fine. Tart taste was fine, but the mango topping---sour to the bones. 128555 it was fustrating. 128529 didnt try anything else after that. i was dissapointed. 128529

November 27, 2014 was the last time i visited Rowena's.. I bought espasol, blueberry cheese tart, egg tart and my personal favorite Buko Tart..

I think putting a small stall near the popular starbucks (sorry, i don't remember the exact location) is a very good idea..

My 800th review127881127881127881127881127881127881

Advance Merry Christmas Looloo friends hohoho127876127877 Mission accomplished, my goal for 2014 is maka 800 before the Christmas Day, and I did it128522128077 and excited also to make this review about Rowenas Restaurant at Hillcrest Tagaytay.

Last Sunday after our outing at Canyon Cove Nasugbu Batangas, we passed by of course at Tagytay and was so traffic and we still haven't eaten our lunch. Our purpose is to buy our favorite cheesecake tart, then we bought buko pie to and espasol for pasalubong for relatives. There was a big change, the pasalubong store was so big and very systematic, I think they had a big renovation then they have their restaurant. So we decided to eat there coz were curious.

It was a chill Sunday afternoon , I love the cold breeze at Tagaytay while we were on the parking. The resto was big enough and they have tables and chairs outside near the pool area but decided to eat inside. There was not much people because it's almost 3pm when we got there so it was late lunch.

Tried and craving for bulalo so we got it for around 600 pesos and this is one of the best and sulit bulalo ever!128077 puro laman at masarap ang sabaw and my kids love it too, it's their first time. Then got fish and chips and it's good too even the milkshakes are good, we bought it for the kids , chocolate and strawberry milkshake and nice presentation then we bring the buko pie inside and have it sliced for dessert. Service was excellent128077 cost only 1,200 plus. The restroom also near the pool area was so clean. Everything here is really good. Very homey. Definitely we will be back128522

Here's to one of the better tasting buko creations in Tagaytay! 127881 Loved the crumbly yet chewy tart and the delicious buko filling! I totally enjoyed every bite whether the buko tart is warm or has just been taken out from the fridge.

I just checked out the other reviews and wow, I read about some of the great goodies I always crave for. Rowena's is the bomb, huh! 128523 Can't wait to be in Tagaytay again and try them all out.

After arriving to Tagaytay yesterday, my friends and I have decided to have a heavy brunch, so we'll have the energy for all the sight-seeing and souvenir shopping ahead of us. We then saw Rowena's, whose buko custard pie I really love.

I didn't know that they were also serving dishes, so I knew we had to try it out. We ordered sinigang na baboy, chicken barbeque, and the ever-famous bulalo. Man, it wasn't s heavy meal--it's a feast! I loved the "fruity asim" flavor of the sinigang, and the peanutty taste of the chicken barbeque. Their bulalo has a clear, light taste. What really surprised us is the hearty servings, especially the bulalo (800 grams of beef!).

This surely has been a great gastronomic experience for us. Good food + great taste + hearty servings + very accommodating staff = perfect!
