I've been here twice just because of their caramel beer. 128077128077128077128077128077 I always order the big ass size beer. Their food is 128077128077128077 just okay, I tried their solo ribs and its just good for its price. Their pizza is good as well. Service? I will give them 128078. Not friendly, not accommodating and you have to call their attention if u need something because they are in one place near the bar chatting and using their phones. Would I recommend this branch to my friends? NO! The place is not neat, so-so food, music is too loud and staffs are not accommodating. Over all its a 128078

Tried their flavored beers, one was Big Ass Caramel Beer and a glass of Roasted Almond Beer. We were informed that the Big Ass beers were not for sharing although it is not unlimited. The caramel flavor was not that strong, it still feels like beer with a tinge of caramel. The Roasted Almond has a weird taste but it is tolerable. Their 1 serving of chicharon bulaklak is quite a lot for a group of 6.

Ambience is good although it lacks some good ventilation if you are sitted outside. The outside seating is a bit cramped. Music is not too loud and you and your friends can still chat even if it is a bar.

Having dinner in a bar on a weekday (wednesday) is the best idea ever lmao we were supposed to have 2 bottles of beer after work but everything changed when we arrived at Rue. Hahaha.

My friend ordered Sisig and a serving of java rice. I had the Italian Potato Wedge Bucket (which is more or less Garlic Parmesan Fries) para lang makapagpanggap na mahina akong kumain. The fries was good since it's thick cut and it had bits of slightly cooked garlic. The cheese was enough to make each bite salty. The sisig tho!!! Twas good but damn oily. No regrets since sisig is life. The oilier maybe the better. Haha.

After Niner Ichi, my officemates and I felt we still need alcohol before going home. So we transferred to Rue Bourbon. 128541

My favorite here is the Cucumber Beer, big ass. But last Friday (actually Saturday 3AM 128514), I got curious about their Speculoos beer. Not sure if this is something not new to the menu anymore, but it was my first time to try it that time. My verdict? Really really good. If you're a fan of sweet beer, then this is for you. It has a vanilla aftertaste for me, but you can still taste the Speculoos flavor. I tell you, it's a pabebe drink. You may forget that it's beer. Lol. 128541

P.S. One of my colleagues also ordered Speculoos but hers lacked sweetness. Cindy S told her that she can ask the server to add more syrup to her beer. Yup! It's possible! If you feel your flavored beer lack the "flavor", just call the attention of the servers, and they will happily adjust the taste of your beer. Talk about customer service! 128584

Base: San Mig light. They got atleast 5 flavours already available but we tried the all time favourite caramel en strawberry. It was good though for a litre plus I never knew it was fun to be at the bar, bartenders can give you XO shots, ofc those are free.

Had fun with my co-workers at Rue Bourbon. It was a good thing we had the veranda reserved (#smokingproblems) since the place was just small. I loved their ribs (i have a distinct love for ribs) and the drinks! We gulped on their caramel beer which was a bit sweet for my tastebuds so I had to switch to Jim Beam and Jose Cuervo. The staff were nice and uber friendly too(not just when we were drunk lol). We obviously had a great time since we started 9pm and left at around 3am.

My team has been working really hard the last several weeks, as we are now in peak season. So much that we've really been feeling fatigued. So when my colleague cajoled us into leaving the work for the next day and go out for drinks, we didn't think twice.

It was a fine night to hang out, since we were from different places and it was the first time we went out after work. Luckily Rue was near enough our office and it wasn't so full, so it was a great intro to Burgos Circle nightlife without being overwhelmed.

We got there before 9, and we got to take advantage of the happy hour discounts on cocktails and appetizers. For apps we had the Sisig Nachos and Beef Brisket (?) Salpicao. Great stuff, our visitors loved them! Later on we had the wings platter, which had buffalo, asian and bourbon wings. Personally loved the bourbon wings most, which is sweet, as the buffalo has lots of spice and the asian is a little too confusing for me. But our Indian visitor said the buffalo wings were mild. Hahaha!

We had a load of drinks. I ordered an amaretto sour, another had the strawberry something, and the rest shared a bottle of strawberry sangria mix. Then we pre-ordered a glass each of the caramel beer, I kinda liked it but it can taste like bubble gum and put off some people. Then there was a promo for this bourbon drink that we initially refused, but we changed our mind and had shots. Then we cajoled the waiter for some freebies and got a coffee flavored shot. I was the unlucky person who took the shot - not bad.

I've seen Friday nights here and it was noisy. The Thursday night thing is best when you just want to hang out in peace and not to be seen. Except that you had to go to work the next day. 128563128517128564

You know you're old when the songs from Throwback Thursday remind you of your youth.... Aaaahhhh, youth... 128513128513128513 #ageisjustanumber

After dinner at B&B, we walked to Rue for drinks... We were met with another member of our group there... We needed some caramel beer!!!128525 yey!!!

Two of us also drank Jack and Coke Zero, their taste buds showing signs of maturity... Mine hasn't and I was happy to order my usual... They also ordered appetizers, but I only tried the Classic Nachos... Their sisig nachos tasted much better, IMO...

The night started out with some eighties dance music, Tears for Fears, Simply Red and Spandau Ballet were blasting on the speakers... I shamelessly started to sing to the familiar songs and my friends gave me the evil eye-- NILALAGLAG MO ANG SARILI MONG EDAD... TRUTH!!! I stopped singing and tried to bob my head slightly lang... Tapping my feet to the beat, snapping my fingers underneath the table... I'm such an uncool person!128526 IDC!128513 Do you remember the time when the phone numbers were only 6-digits long??? Or when you lift your landline, you can hear the partyline??? Did your yaya tell you that when that happens, say "HELLO PARTY LINE, PAKI BABA PO!!!" How many bottles of Aquanet do you use in a month???128518 Did you try recording the songs on the radio with a cassette tape, trying to press 'record' at the precise moment when the DJ stops talking?128514

They moved to nineties music, with Kalapana's Hurt and some Spin Doctors tunes... This led us to reminisce about gradeschool and highschool days... Did you guys have the barkada calling cards made, with everybody's phone number printed on it??? As though you can't remember each others' numbers... Or your personal calling card with the obligatory Looney Tunes character on the side... Did you go to the studio to take those awkward barkada pictures with the batik background???128514128514128514 What was your answer to the definition of 'What is Love' in your slum book? How many Giordano shirts did you own??? Are you a CK One or Polo person??? hahahahaha!!! It's so fun to remember the past, prior to the internet...128525 When having a CD-RW already made you cool and high-tech!128514

Awwww, but the DJ skipped the early 2000s to the present, with Ellie Goulding and Taylor Swift... I skipped the stories about the Jordan Knight and 99 Degrees concert and the wild nights at Basement and PoNaNa! It feels like a lifetime ago! We were jerked back to reality by the rocker behind my friend... She was literally rocking her chair into my friend... I miss getting all glammed up for a night out, wearing asymmetrical dresses, dangling earrings, mini skirts and heels... But, I've had my time enjoying those nights and very thankful that Facebook was only starting and thAT IG was only an idea... #walangebidensya

I probably have no point and as usual, I don't care... I suppose it's just a girl's way of looking back... Reality is that the caramel beer is no longer as good as it was before... But reminiscing always is, bestbdone in the company of friends... I leave that in the past, excited to make more new memories! For I'm sure the best is yet to come!1008412852110084

Beer is an alcoholic beverage produced by the saccharification of starch and fermentation of the resulting sugar.

Source: Wikipedia

Why do poeple drink alcohol?   This can be traced back to our ancestors.  The human consumption of alcohol originates from frugivory (consumption of fruits).  Fermentation of sugars by yeast naturally present in overripe and decaying fruits produces Ethanol which in turn intoxicates birds and mammals.

A little Science lesson for the kids.  If you want to get a massive headache,  read Darwin's Book - On The Origin Of Species.

I aint gonna preach about Darwin, do not worry.  The succeeding statements will be a review of sorts for Rue Bourbon.

I drank a lot of Ethanol in my lifetime.   What i realized is that as you age,  you tend to forgo your fondness of beer and you start to appreciate the distinct flavors of Cognac and Single Malt Whiskey.  My fascination with the craft/flavoured beer started with Rue Bourbon.   I rarely drink beer because i hate the bitter aftertaste,  that is why I got really giddy when i tried Rue's Apple Flavoured Beer.  No bitter aftertaste,  subtle sweetness of the apple and comes in a big-ass mug.

I usually hang at Rue during off-peak days and hours.  I like drinking a mug or two after a long day at work.  I usually pair my beer with Cajun Fries.  The fries is nothing special,  think of an overpriced french fries from a fast food joint drizzled with some flavoured powder.

If you wanna avoid the helter-skelter at Rue,  it is best to come in around 5-ish.  I am ancient,  i cant stand house music at extreme decibel levels.   Rue is the best starting point if you want to be accustomed with the distinct flavours of craft beer.

I never drink alcohol until I tried their caramel beer and mojito. 128513

The place is quite small so we were standing for a while. It was a bit crowded and smells like cigar all over the place (of course what would I expect on this place. Lol). 2nd floor is more spacious and had several comfy seats than on the ground floor.

The place could be very jam-packed during weekends starting midnight onwards. You'll see lots of teens and yuppies outside waiting for a vacant table... So better come in earlier (around 11)

Let me start by saying this: I love bringing my friends to Rue Bourbon. And I have introduced many to the awesomeness of their famous Big Ass Caramel Beer. There's something about Rue Bourbon's ambiance that keeps me coming back. It's a hip place to hang out in, but its coolness is understated and rustic. I always have a good time when I'm here.

Anyway, aside from the aforementioned Big Ass Caramel Beer, I've tried their other flavored beers. The Big Ass Roasted Hazelnut Beer tastes like Nutella and the Big Ass Rose Beer tastes like, well, rose, but was too sweet for my liking. In any case, as if I haven't proven my point, the Big Ass Caramel Beer is still the best among the bunch.

Also, I've tried a couple of food items from their menu. Their Cajun French Fries complements any beer very well. Their Hangover Burger is a must-try for burger lovers. Grilled to perfection and served with fries, the 1/3-lb beef is flavorful and sates one's craving for protein in the wee hours of the morning (read: drunk eating). Haha!

I haven't tried their cocktails and I probably never will because I get more value for my money with the Big Ass Caramel Beer. I am, however, excited to try the other food items in their menu.
