What a great view! On our 2nd day at Puerto Princesa we had our early check out on our first hotel and left our luggage at the reception desk. Then exact 6am we left our hotel. It's going to be a very long travel. We pick up some people in other hotels , from California and Ecuador. The best part of traveling is you meet new people.
Glad that the driver drives fast, were ahead on time, this is our second day tour with Kara Travels but this time our tour guide is Dennis. His one of the best tour guide in Palawan and he speaks English fluently.
We arrived in Sabang beach after a 2 hours of zigzag and I felt dizzy but when I saw the breathtaking view it's worth the wait for a 2 hours travel.
Sabang is a small village in Palawan and it is an entry point to Puerto Princesa Subterranean River as it was our itinerary for our second day. This is truly an amazing experience .
Will be riding small boat going to the Underground River. It was so hot there. Our tour guide ask for a 60 pesos environmental fee and pay it in the office there. I hope they can improve more waiting sheds because it was freaking hot and glad that our tour guide was able to book us an early time slot good job!
All the boats into and out of Sabang our subject to weather condition. Don't forget to buy there a plastic case for your cellphone for protection coz it might get wet. Only 6 people are allowed in a boat and our big group was divided into two. We were five in our family including mom and lucky that the tour guide ride with us. There was big waves as we travel on the shore and my son was scared but I'm enjoying every single moment of it as we were heading to one of the 7 wonders of nature!

Reviewing this place again for the tamilok (woodworms) served to us by the locals there. We were supposed to have this in a mainstream bar in Puerto Princesa city proper but my friend told me to just go for it when we go to underground river. After a few days of waiting... We gotta try it!
Tamilok is a kind of mollusk that lives in the branches of mangroves. They told us it is best served raw or fried. We went for the fresh ones-- just dip it in a vinegar with garlic, onions, chili, and calamansi and that's it!
Well, it tastes like oyster... With a bit taste of wood. Lol It doesn't taste bad and yucky at all when you dip it in vinegar.
Don't leave Palawan without trying this!

Sabang beach is the jump off point if you will either trek your way to PPS Underground River or ride a boat going there. It's almost 3-hour drive from Puerto Princesa city proper.
There are restaurants and stores in this area. You can order tamilok here if you want. It's also near resorts like Sheridan.
