I mostly read on the reviews that Samkara's food is just okay. So I dreaded our impending long travel, it's already more than an hour journey coming from San Pablo, Laguna. That's just one way! 128555

But guess what, overall the food is actually good!128077 But some were just okay. 🤷

I recommend you get these (first three pictures):
🔘 Ginataang Kalabaw - meat was very tender, great flavor from the coconut cream with a refreshing hint of ginger
🔘 Tinumok ng Bicol - shrimp wrapped in gabi leaves, choose this over laing for a more sulit dish
🔘 Lechon Kawali - tender meat and crispy skin with well-seasoned bamboo achara (this side dish is so good I asked for second servings!)

The rest were just OK. I was actually a bit disappointed with their Laing because it was not spicy at all. And their Pancit Habhab, one of their best sellers, was too salty for our taste.

Celebrated my first Mother's day here in Samkara Restaurant and Garden Resort. My inlaws and I actually planned to have lunch at Isdaan Floating Resto-Fun Park in Calauan, Laguna but because it's Mother's day and happened to be a Sunday Family Day, it's super crowded. We our given a number 89 for the waiting costumers and still serving number 65, so we need to wait 14 Families to finished their lunch before our turn, so estimated by 4pm we can eat our lunch. Hahaha! We decided to search for another resto until we reach SAMMARA which is located at Lucban Quezon, see? It's a roadtrip 128514🤢
Upon seeing Samkara Resto outside, It made me feel that the 4 hours long ride was worth it. Finally! We can order and eat buuuuut wait! It's also crowded so we waited for an hour before the food was served. It's understandable. Another thing, when the food was served the waiter keep on apologizing because of the slow service, it's actually fine though all of us are super hungry, what makes us slightly mad was the waiter forgot to note our order, Crispy Pata.
We don't have any photo of the foods because the food was served 3pm with 3 times follow up. Their food is not too expensive, but servings are little for the price. Everything was presentable. Food are fine.
Place is very homey. I super love the Province ambiance. They also have rooms for overnight because it's a resto/ resort. A big place to spend Holidays, Family day or any celebrations. Place is very relaxing. Maybe next time we will be back to spend a night there.

First family gathering of 2017 and my uncle is no chill. Doesn't want to have our lunch at Palaisdaan as usual. So, the night before our lunch we have no place to go. My Aunt came up with a brilliant suggestion and that is Samkara Restaurant and Hotel. Sounds new to me but looks interesting. Luckily, their Facebook Admin is of top notch! Replied to me at past 11pm, reserved a place for us that's around 40-50 people and we're good to go! Customer service wise, perfect!! 127775

So, Samkara is located along Lucban-Majayjay Road. It's a 3-4 hour drive from Manila heading South. You might miss out the place as their big signage is still not up, but you cannot afford to miss it. It offers that traditional and countryside vibes plus specialty food of carabao meat which makes them a lot interesting.

Surprisingly, despite a late notice we were given a nice place. It's the one they use for special functions. The venue is beautiful. The setup is great, the view is amazing. Their infinity pool is made of stones, and clear water plus a great view of the rice field. The water is cold though as it's very common around this area.

Food wise, they are wonderful. We had a variety of food and they all taste great. As mentioned, their specialty is their carabao meat so we tried their Calderetang Kalabaw (P320) and it taste good. Their meat is really soft and I love their sauce and the fact that they use pickles on their caldereta. Their Pancit Habhab (P225 for large) is a Lucban specialty and I like how they add different toppings to their version. The chorizo really made it a little sweeter than its usual taste. Their Caesar Salad (P175) is also tasty, drizzled with bountiful amount of bacon and dressing. Did I say they also have grilled meats and fish. Oh yes they do. Their grilled liempo (P300) has enough serving and is grilled just right. They have a basket of chicken (P270) perfect for kids. It has seven pieces for the little ones. They have so many other food in their menu. From breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Serving size is good for 2-3 person.

Their price is reasonable and for the quality of meal and view you will have plus the cold weather as of the moment, this is highly commendable. So after you take an adventure at the different falls of Laguna, you might want to drop by here as it's not so far from it. Definitely a good find at further South!

For any inquiries you can contact them at: 0917-6742693 or message them at Facebook. They are very responsive!
