It's been a while since I wanted to check out the specialty of Sanchos Churreria Manila at Maginhawa Street. Luckily, when we visited my best friend's gown designer at a street in Teacher's Village, she prepared snacks for us and that included churros from Sanchos. OK! Just got lucky!

Served in take-out boxes, the packaging of the churros in orange boxes made it look even more appealing. The churros were separated from the chocolate syrup that came in a plastic container. From the initial look at it, oh, you'll be so excited to taste it!

The churros looked really fresh, big and appetizing. Its huge, curvy shape made it look like per piece can actually fill a person already. The perfect golden brown color made it look so pretty, too!

The chocolate syrup looked rich and legitimate too! The thickness of its texture made it look so gooey and chocolatey, just the perfect pair for the perfectly cooked churros.

OK! It's time to taste this sinful goodness! With the first bite, I felt the crispness and crunchiness of the snack. What I liked about it was that it wasn't too oily and its thickness was just right, not too heavy in each bite. It smelled really good too, letting you know that it's actually cooked fresh the minute you order it.

The chocolate syrup doesn't only look good. It actually tasted so so yummy too! The thickness of the syrup would make it stick really well with the churros. Its gooeyness and chocolatey-ness is an actual guarantee that its legit chocolate, real in all its sense.

The combination of the churros and the chocolate syrup were a perfect mix, letting you finish a set for yourself.

It was actually a good experience for me and I will definitely find the time to check out their mini restaurant in the area. I heard that their Brazo de Mercedes is good too!

Love the churrios, fresh and light not oily. We just find the choco dip needs a bit of sweetness. Service is good as well for a small place & worth the price:+)

Ever since I saw a post claiming that a quaint restaurant along Maginhawa serves the best churros in town, I’ve been itching to go back to Maginhawa to try it myself. I’ve always been in love with Dulcinea’s churros and I wondered if I’ll have an affair with a new one.

We were still in our “Invade Maginhawa” mode but it was almost 5PM then. We didn’t care if our tummies were about to explode. We just have to check this place out.

I was determined to just order the churros as I was really stuffed. But standing in front of the other pastries all whispering, “Eat me!” did not help at all. I ended up ordering one piece of éclair and cream puff to go with my Churros con Chocolate (PHP85). It was a sweet trio!

The éclair was nothing special for me. The hardened chocolate was not even chocolatey. I liked the cream though as it was smooth and not very sweet.

The cream puff on the other hand was a bit hard. The melted sugar also tasted a little burnt. Then again, the cream saved it and created a great contrast of flavors from the slight bitterness of the sugar (how ironic) and the sweet cream.

Now for the churros that made me drool for a long time…

Odd enough, it wasn’t as spectacular as I thought it would be. Basing it on the write-ups I’ve read before, I was expecting that it’d be GREAAAAT with a :D but it was just great churros. (Okay, I don’t think I’m making any sense here.)

The chocolate was rich and undeniably oh so chocolatey but it was not far (or even different) from Dulcinea’s. Even the churros itself was quite the same. My foodie friends told me though that the chocolate of Sancho is better as it seemed to be darker and richer but they’d still go with Dulcinea for the churros.

Nonetheless, I’m still interested to try Sancho’s savory dishes and its cakes.

Forget about the ambience. It's... Well, it needs A LOT of work, okay? But, one does not really come here for the ambience.

The main attraction is undoubtedly the churros - very classic, bow-shaped, equal parts crunchy and chewy, paired with their hot chocolate sauce for dipping and dousing; In my opinion, the chocolate sauce could have been a bit more velvety and decadent, but, it does the job and it's also perfect for those who prefer semi-sweet chocolate dipping sauce.

Sancho's Churreria is definitely earmarked in my head whenever I want a quick churro fix.

Cheers,
Mickey

Was able to try these at the Advent Fair in Manila Waldorf School in Timberland. They brought their own huge fryer! Hanep! So if you want your own churros party you can probably invite them.

I think I only paid 60 pesos for this. Seems super cheap compared to La Lola. Chocolate was thick enough go well with the churro.

Do you know there's also a small churreria cafe along maginhawa? It's small that it can only accomodate around 25 pax (in and out) so make sure you go here not on peak hours/times (weekend dinner and paydays)
Churros here is MUCH MORE affordable! At around 90php, you get 5 pieces churros with spanish chocolate dip!
128204cream puff
For 35 php, you'll get a small peach-sized cream puff that's just a bit toasted at the bottom (that just gave the pastry a bit bitterness). The cream was not sweet at all; it's a little smooth too. Just great for that super sweet hard caramelized sugar on the puff pastry.
128204churros con chocolate
It's made fresh using corn oil as opposed to olive oil of lola. The churros here are tear drop in style. Served warmly. Churros at lola's tasted like olive oil, but here you'll be able to appreciate the basic ingredients since corn oil is not that strong tasting as olive oil. The chocolate dip is dark. I just had just a little bit of difficulty in dipping those tear drop churros in the chocolate's small cup.
Thos is also good for sharing as it 's kinda cloying. Secret to succesfully eat churros without that cloying feeling is to take your time while eating it. No rush!

For a moment i thought: what is the plural of churros? Churroses? Churri?? Or is it churro the singular and churros is the plural already? “miss pabili ng churro.”

Eating style goals achieved thanks to the very warm ambiance. Air-conditioned room; yellow-orange-brown color theme--how warm is that! The place is accompanied by soft mexican-jazz background music 128525128077 add dim lights and not so noisy customers!!
It's not really a perfect 5 but there's no quarter or half stars, so there you go!

5 huge churros for php 88 is a steal! The one from Dulcinea is pricey.

I am not a fan of sweets, so I rarely enjoy desserts. Although, Sancho's churros made me want to purchase another order.
The place is very small, so people had to sit outside and to wait for their orders.
The chocolate dip of their churros wasn't sweet, that's why I liked it, and wasn't enough for five pierces of churros.
Overall, the churros tasted fine and it wasn't pricey. So I definitely recommend this place for budget-savers craving for churros.

Loved the place, the service and the food. I love you sancho. 128514

Service: their staff are very Friendly and attentive . 128077 Consistent in serving water. I also like how knowledgable they are on what they sell. They can answer any questions you may have about their food, from how it is prepared and what ingredients are placed.

Food: A taste of Spain! Paella is highly recommended! I don't mind waiting as long as I get that perfectly cooked paella after 30 minutes. Yey! 128525128525128525 also love their salpicao, steak pot pie, lengua esto and of course churros! Finally got to try the famous sancho Churros con chocolate! I now know why people line up for these. 128523

I will definitely go back! 128525128077

Lunch in Sancho's is always different with all these delicious foods to order. Tortilla de Patata, Beef Salpicao, Paela, all are my favorites. But you haven't dined in Sancho's if you didn't order ... Churros Con Chocolate!

Who doesn't love churros? If you're around Maginhawa street, try stopping by here. It's worth the try! For Php 80, you get 5 "half heart" shaped churros and and delicious spanish chocolate dip 128522 Really good! Although I wish they also had cinnamon coated churros too.

I've been wanting to eat here again because I missed eating churros. We attempted to dine here several times, but finding a parking slot was always difficult. 128532 Luckily, there was a spot just in front of the place one afternoon! Yay!
Ordered beef salpicao, potato salad and of course... churros! I liked the savory salpicao. Potato salad was also delicious. But if you don't like mayonnaise, you might not like the potato salad as well. 128540
Churros was less oily than other brands. Maybe it could have been better if the chocolate was a little sweeter. But anyway, I still enjoyed eating the churros! 10084
I commend the staff too. Food was served fast and they serve ice cold water without being told. Hurray for good service.
Til next time! 128526
