I have been pigging out like crazy for the past weeks and not working out helps keep the fats stored in undesirable places. And now that I now work closer to several malls, it'll be even harder not to eat out. Thanks to some stores that specialize in healthy and detox treats, I might be able to avoid a few pounds. *crosses fingers*

I have read about Sap these past months and it caught my interest as I have a thing for juices. (R makes fun of it though as he could not understand why I spend so much when I could just buy a fresh fruit and eat it as is.) I actually saw the Sap kiosk at SM Aura last year when I tried Yakitori One but I was in a hurry because I wasn't feeling well then. But I couldn't let it pass twice so when I had lunch at the kinda pricey food court, I got myself a bottle.

The server suggested that I get G1 (PHP185) which is a combination of pineapple, apple, kale, cucumber, spinach and organic cane. Since I'm a Sap newbie, I gave in.

After paying and getting my bottle, I noticed that there are cheaper drinks such as the organic cane and smoothies! Price difference was around PHP25-65! Some are even less than half the price of what I got. It made me feel a bit of regret not seeing it (and my wallet uttered "ouchie") but I just hoped that it tastes good and worth the price I paid.

Good news, it's actually a good drink. It was sweet and went well with my meal. I could definitely taste the fruits... and see the veggies' green color. Bad news, it was a bit too sweet (and it made me wonder if I'm really drinking something healthy). It is not an ideal drink when having desserts.

Overall, it was still an a-okay beverage. I'll probably try the other more affordable drinks next time.

Ordered the C3, Cane and Coconut juice. Was an okay mix! I love love love the packaging, bottle was very handy, and easy to store, also, they have a wide range of juices and I think they also serve smoothies. I wish they had just pure cane juice though. That would be very lovely since their base product is kind of Sugarcane I think.

I forgot how much this was but I remember it being affordable and worth it since its organic! The juicing area looks clean and their booth is very eye catching, they're also located at a very nice spot where all the people are - IN FRONT OF PEPPER LUNCH. The lady who makes the smoothies was very nice and helpful.

I'm so excited to try their other products. 128077🏽

Sap me some more!

This is my second review for Sap.  I dont usually write reviews for the same joint twice except for the restaurants I adore.  Suffice to say that I have an affinity with cold-pressed juices the day i drank lemon cane juice straight up.

Bought two bottles of pineapple cane today.  Sweet,  sour,  tart and tangy - that's how the juice taste like.  It will leave you energised,  refreshed,  invigorated and ready to save the world from bad grammar and awful fashion choices.

Sap tames my inner Jekyll.  I am more likeable now,  less cranky.   I have to work on ze resting bitch face soon,  maybe continuous rounds of Sap will do the trick.

P.S  They sell bigger bottles for the other cold-pressed concoctions.  I think the price range is up to php 250 for 500ml.

Juice ko naman,  Sap!

Manila was hit by the fitness phenomenon a couple of years back.  Some are hell bent on shedding off extra pounds by exercise and all sorts of diets,  one of which is juicing.

For neophytes,  there are different types  of juicing techniques - Fresh, fresh-pressed, fresh-squeezed, raw, cold-pressed and the list goes on. Apparently there are two types of juice extractions : centrifugal and cold-pressing.  Let's focus on the latter shall we?

Cold-pressed refers to how the juice was extracted from the produce.  Cold-pressers use a slow pulverizer and a hydraulic press.  This process does not generate heat and is better at extracting all of the enzymes and fiber due to the slow and deliberate process.  Juicing fanatics prefer cold-pressed as the nutrients are intact.

Factoids about centrifugal juicing process: fast,  convenient and less expensive.  This involves fast blades that extract juice from the produce.  The downside is that the super-fast blades generate heat which destroy enzymes.  It also forces air in which start the oxidation process.  Majority of the juice bars use centrifugal juicers due to convenience and efficiency.

Sap Juicery is the upscale version of Fruit Magic,  they offer raw, natural and unpasteurised cold-pressed juices,  smoothies and blends.    I tried juicing a couple of years back to satisfy my curiosity and to join the hype.  Juicing and me make an awful combination - think Jessica Lange in Hush and Cathy Bates in Misery,  that is the creature i transform into.  I cannot survive the day without eating something in solid form.  This doesn't mean i don't enjoy a shot of cold-pressed juice every now and then.

Sap uses organic sugar cane as sweetener,  natural and safe.  Good for vegetarians and health conscious individuals.  Free from artificial sweeteners.  Unlike the other joints who still use sugar syrup for their smoothies.  Prices are relatively cheap too (from 80 to 180 per bottle).  I got myself a bottle of lemon/sugar cane juice.   I am proud to say that i skipped coffee this morning and had a bottle of cold-pressed instead.  I felt energized and refreshed after.  I did say that i turn into a horrible person without caffeine on my bloodstream,  well... I didnt turn into a fire-breathing monster today.  Sap tames the inner beast.  Oh,  the taste - tangy and resembles lemon soda.  A perfect combination of sweet and sour.

The packaging is classy too, one might think that Sap is an imported brand at first glance.  I recommend this place for juicing aficionados who is on a budget and who wants to try something new.

P. S.   They might offer packages soon,  that's what Ate told me.  Let's keep our fingers crossed.
