Dark chocolate with chicharon is an unlikely combination but it's not so bad. It's just that the chicharon is only an aftertaste when I was expecting it to be more like having a combined flavor.

I wanted to try something new at Sebastian's, so after getting samples of all my favorite flavors (lol), i decided to try their Popsicles! I got the berry one, and it was really good. It kind of reminded me of a frozen Strawberries Wild from Jamba Juice. My friend also got a frozen cheesecake, and literally it tasted like a frozen cheesecake. 128514

A few weeks back, I asked my bf if we could have dinner at Katipunan... I was craving for pizza and I thought of Gino's... After dinner, I wanted to try Salt bakery! I asked my bf if we could just walk-- and we did!!! Only to find out that it was already closed!!!128557128557128557

So I figured, let's just go to Sebastian's for ice cream... We figured we'll just get the double scoop and share...

I remember liking their green mango and bagoong ice cream and their sapin-sapin flavor... But since we would be sharing the cup, my bf vetoed both suggestions... We asked to try some of the flavors available... We agreed on the cookie dough and the puto bumbong flavor... The cookie dough was okay, nothing special... But my bf is not adventurous when it comes to ice cream!128517 we both thought that the puto bumbong was okay initially... But when you eat a lot of it, the texture gets really weird and gritty... We couldn't finish the ice cream anymore... These are not the flavors to try at Sebastian's...

Other than the disappointing flavors, the staff were rude... They begrudgingly let us taste the ice cream flavors when we were politely asking... One of them rolled their eyes when we were trying to decide on our flavors... It's not like they had other customers and we are essentially not an indecisive kind of couple... Ugh, not happy with this experience...128545

I scream for ice cream literally and Sebastian is one of my favorites!

You'd think all ice cream would taste the same and most ice cream places tend to overshadow one another because there's really not anything different or unique about them, but Sebastian's is doing it right.

The best thing about this store is that the flavors are so unique and you won't find them anywhere else. Talk about, Mangga at Bagoong, Mangga at Suman, Sapin-Sapin, Champorado at Dilis etc. - these flavors are unique, but, it's fair to say that being unique does you no good if your ice cream is not great-tasting as well. Sebastian's has got that too!

Some of their flavors may sound terrible in your head but they taste AMAZING. Probably the only thing that this place doesn't have is cheapness. The ice cream is bit on the pricey side and a scoop will cost you Php120 or more, depending on the flavor.

I visit this place whenever I feel down or I need a delicious sweet fix, those times, the splurge is worth it.

Cheers,
Mickey

Quickie stopover to Sebastians after UP Town Center.  He wanted ice cream to wash off all the flavors from Silantro lingering on our tastebuds.  No parking space as expected,  he gave his full trust and asked me to select the flavor.

The dive bar looks interesting, got one salted butter and one white chocolate raspberry fruitcicle.

The caramel coating is sprinkled with sea salt,  the ice cream filling is creamy,  not overly sweet but extremely addicting.  After the first bite,  we said in unison,  Butterball!  (The former is a popular candy back in the day). We felt a sudden rush of nostalgia during and after devouring this wicked treat.

The fruitcicle is a cheesecake in a stick.  It tastes exactly like cheesecake.  The bottom part is the cake crust,  the middle part is the cheesecake filling drizzled with raspberry syrup.   This got me giddy for x number of minutes.

Ian Carandang is a friggin genius,  he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for making the best feel-good ice cream flavors.  Even the most horrible person will change after tasting one of his creations,  each bite will remind you that there is still good in this world.

Tried the sapin-sapin and it was awesome. Thinking of getting a pint or two for my dad for Christmas (instead of the usual kakanin for the holidays...!) very cool.

I am excited to try the other flavors. Suman and mangga was really good and refreshing, too. I don't know that I will try the kare-kare nor the mangga'to bagoong... A little too weird for me! But makes for interesting conversation.

Always good to get a scoop or two from here when I walk around Katipunan. Great pitstop!

Favorite Regis staple 128539

A lot of their flavors are too sweet for my taste, like 1995, which has Flat Top truffles, chocnut, and white rabbit 128561 Their peanut butter nutella is also so good but so rich my throat hurts everytime. Hahaha.

Stick to their more balanced flavors like butter pecan! Their blueberry cheesecake ice cream is THE BOMB and is probably my favorite out of all! 128076

Also, this is pretty pricey at P110 per scoop so make sure to ask for a free taste before settling on a flavor 128522

This placr is really creative whennit comes to Filipino flavors of their ice cream. It was hard to choose at first. Like many of those gelato or ice cream places you are free to taste what they offer. I tasted their sapin-sapin ice cream and it really tastes like the real thing. I ordered the Green Mango with Bagoong! It was great! Next thing I tried was Champorado and Tuyo. Although the tuyo fish was more of an dilis. The chocolate ice cream alone was rich and thick, you can have it on its own. But if you want to elevate it you can add the Tuyo part of it, which really brings out the sweetness of the chocolate ice cream.

You got to hand it to them for being so creative and ensuring that their ice creams actually taste like the flavors they claim to be. Tried their sapin sapin ice cream, banoffee and salted caramel!! Was really satisfied but wahh pricey

I've been wanting to try the famous Sebastian's Ice cream since they opened up a branch in Katipunan, last night finally I did. Tempting I must say, I ordered cookies n' cream, I always go for that flavor cause I think it's safe and it's that one flavor you can never go wrong with BUT I was disappointed.. 128532

Texture-wise it was thick w/c is good and the serving is generous and it's innovative however I didn't find it delicious 128148 I didn't even tasted the "cookies n' cream" flavor, it was like a vanilla ice cream w/ powdered milk sandwiched w/ 2 thick crinkles. It was "just for the thrill of it" experience. Hopefully on my text try I'll be able to appreciate it, will try another flavor or something else.

I have always been curious about Sebastian's artisan ice cream, but I've also always been able to convince myself not to try it. I was never fond of desserts, and unlike many of my friends and family, I am quite picky with my sweets. I am often drawn to desserts only because of how aesthetically pleasing they are, but I don't usually go for ice cream, or finish that cupcake, or pick out gourmet chocolates, simply because I'm not fond of sweet treats.

I hung out with two of my best friends from our freshman year of high school (we're already seniors in our respective universities now!) and at their excitement to try out the different flavors, I was convinced into sampling some, too. I tried a variety of flavors, but I ended up choosing the Nutella Cookie Dough (Php 100, single scoop). Essentially, it's Nutella ice cream loaded with gobs of unbaked chocolate chip cookie dough, and layered with Nutella fudge.

Okay, I know what you're thinking. This definitely does not sound like someone who is not fond of sweets as I previously mentioned, but since it's been months since I last had a scoop of ice cream, I figured why not? I always have a jar of Nutella at home, but since I haven't been touching it, I felt that it was all the more reason to indulge in an old favorite. However, I did find it too sweet after my first few bites, and luckily the staff were handing out filtered water. I loved the mix of Nutella and cookie dough, though, and I wouldn't mind ordering this again.

One of my friends ordered one of their limited edition Halloween flavors, Gummi Berries (mixed berry ice cream with gummy bears), while my other friend chose the Eraserheads-inspired flavor, 1995 (Chocnut-butter ice cream with Curly Top Truffles, Ovalteenies Crunch, and a White Rabbit Candy Toffee Ripple). Both were pretty good albeit a tad too sweet for me, but I liked the 1995 better than the Gummi Berries. It did make me feel quite nostalgic as I enjoyed all those treats when I was younger.

The other flavor I was able to try, and am dearly looking forward to ordering once I am able myself to convince myself again is the Green Mango & Bagoong flavor. The concept is as amazing as the execution. The green mango sorbet captures the sourness of green mango, while the bagoong perfectly complements it with the sweet and salty mix of its own. I loved it at one bite, but I wonder how I'd feel if I ordered one scoop?

Ice cream parlors have been opening up here and there within the past two years and just because Sebastian's opened up at the same time as the other parlors, doesn't mean that it is just like the rest. Sebastian's is actually one of the favorite ice cream places of my youngest sister.

With the thought that my youngest sister is the pickiest eater in our family, having Sebastian's as one of her favorite ice cream parlor says a lot. The innovativeness and deeply cultured ice cream makers of Sebastian's have come up with flavors such as Mangga't Suman, Champorado and Sapin-Sapin. They have localized ice cream with truly authentic Filipino flavors; their flavors even inspire me to be a more nationalistic foodie.

If you wanna bask in culture and food at the same time, why not give Sebastian's authentic Filipino flavors a go? 978610084
