This authentic Japanese restaurant (by their claims) can easily be spotted from afar with their giant rendition of a sumo wrestler. My visit here was intentional this time as the other two by chance were unsuccessful. They’re close from 230-6pm apparently as they serve only lunch and dinner.

Price points are on the high side and with this first visit am not sure if it’s justifiable. I had the lunch menu option and price range fall from Php 380 to Php 1,200. I had the Cyukadon Set (Php 380) which includes Chopseuy, small dish, soba noodle, pickles and dessert. Translating these on actual it was mostly vegetable Chopseuy with one piece of shrimp, some strands of pork and hefty serving of around 3-4 cups of rice. What came with it was a speck of vegetable, cup of soba noodle, pickled vegetables and 2 pieces of fresh pineapple.

Feeling that wasn’t enough to satisfy which was eventually true, I also got their Chicken Meatball Yakitori for Php 180. The balls were packed with chicken meat but its taste was bitter as some of its parts were char grilled too long. Obviously, I didn’t enjoy this one either.

The menu is intensive and there’s so much hope to enjoy another run. Am eyeing on their Kaisendon Set (Php 550) next, a bowl of rice with different types of sashimi, small dish, miso soup or noodle and dessert.

Not happy with the food and service.

First, when we tried to order sashimi platter, we were told they were out of uni so they recommended hamachi. Then the waiter came back to say they were out of salmon and had it replaced with lapu-lapu. Then waiter came back a third time to say they were out of hamachi. So we switched to tempura platter.

Second, while they were figuring out the sashimi order, I thought my ramen order was already put through. I was so wrong.

Third, food quality was bad. The ramen was bland. The sashimi was not fresh. The tempura was too oily.

Will definitely not come back.

5. Soup was bland

Bad food and bad service. SUPER BAD EXPERIENCE!

Currently here now making a review. The manager was so pilosopo and was not hospitable at all! RUDE!

Shift: 2:30pm
Date: Feb 2

While I was complaining about how dry my food was, the manager did not apologize sincerely and would even answer back. Servers were all watching us and went close to us.

This manager is not an asset in your company. Re-train her!

I've been to Sekitori for multiple times already and the quality of food never disappoints. Their food is as authentic as those that I've tried in Japan. No wonder, this place is visited by a lot of Japanese expats.

Go here during lunch time as they offer lunch sets which are more affordable than when ordering a la carte. But you also get your money's worth even for dinner because servings are commensurate to price
