Bad and slow service. Took almost an hour before our orders arrived. TOTALLY LOST MY APPETITE. The food is not that good anyway for its price. DON'T EVER GO HERE.

To celebrate my uncle's birthday, my family and I went her for a simple dinner. When we're eating together, we usually look for either a Filipino or a Chinese restaurant para safe and all the things we want (rice + ulam) are available.

Where else to eat but here at Sentro, right? 128513

I'm not familiar with Estancia mall but this is located in a separate block where Tipsy Pig is located also. From the outside, it looks really big and spacious. Two floors. With few tables and a bar outside. I like the simplicity of the Fort branch better than this one. But I'm not saying this branch isn't good. Just for a different "crowd", I guess? This is more for family dinner/lunch or for big groups while the Fort branch is more for intimate occasions, for small groups or for business meetings.

SERVICE.

For a Wednesday night, the place was crowded since we had to wait for at least 15 minutes before we got a table. While waiting, our server let us sit first near the stairs. She then gave us the menu so we can decide what to order. She even suggested dishes we must try. Even explained why we need to get this dish instead of the other dish hahaha! Our server was super proactive, nice and friendly. Also, she keep us updated if there's a table available already. 128513128077🏼

The whole time we were here, we really felt comfortable. Really loved the excellent customer service! 128076🏼

FOOD.

Of course, we ordered their 2 bestsellers - Sinigang na Corned Beef and Rated GG. Added noodles for long life, an order of a salad for me 128513 and added Beef Binagoongan (because baka daw kulang!! Haha).

Sinigang na Corned Beef (595)
- Corned beef short plate and boneless beef shanks in tamarind broth with native vegetables.
- Before serving us the actual dish, they let us try the broth first so they can adjust the taste just in case we want it spicy, a bit more sour or not. This is their way of making sure that the taste is exactly how we want it.
- We all loved this dish! Perfect level of asim. The beef was oh so tender. Generous serving of vegetables. No wonder why this is a bestseller. Definitely tops our sinigang list!! 128076🏼 Well next to my mom's! 128518

Rated GG (295)
- Galunggong fillet fried in garlic oil and topped with browned garlic.
- We don't usually eat galunggong at home because of reasons I don't know. The last time I tried one was during an outing. And I enjoyed it! Piniritong pinaksiw na galunggong? So when this dish was recommended, I immediately said yes! One order, please? 128513
- And yay we ordered this because we all liked this one!!! Loved the crispy garlic bits and the oil ahhhh! This was really good. Sarap sa kanin!!! 128513127834
- Also, we all loved the fact that it's boneless already. No need to worry about the tinik. Easy to eat (making you eat a lot. 128517128518).

Beef Tapa Salad (180)
- Green ice lettuce, tuyo vinaigrette, chorizo (since the tapa was not available), onions and tomatoes
- this was just okay. Should have asked them to separate the dressing because it was too sour. Parang mas maasim pa sa sinigang. 128529

Beef Ribs Binagoongan (390)
- Beef short ribs and beef shoulder browned and stewed until tender with garlicky bagoong
- this was also good. Not your usual binagoongan. The beef, like the corned beef, was super tender. For someone who doesn't enjoy any dish with too much bagoong, suprisingly, I liked this one. Plus it was not overly salty, as well!! Just the right blend of saltiness.

Sotanghon Guisado (320)
- Stir-fry glass noodles with cabbage, carrots, Baguio beans, chicken, pork and shrimps.
- This was good. Generous toppings and veggies.
- Tastes like your usual sotanghon guisado but nothing extraordinary and kind of pricey for 300+.

For dessert, we were given a complimentary slice as a birthday treat.

Coffee Pie (220)
- Chocolate cashew crust with coffee fillings topped with cream cheese and toffee sauce
- like your usual chocolate mousse but better!! Hint of coffee plus cashew and cream cheese!!! Ahhh, perfect ending to our dinner! Light, creamy and not too sweet! 128525128077🏼

Overall, we enjoyed our heavy but oh so good Filipino dinner. Make sure to order the Sinigang na Corned Beef and the Rated GG!!! Please please! You're welcome! 128513128521

only the dalandan juice and unlimited sago saved the meal. the list of food seemed delicious basing from their photo however in actual, it's not. serving's small for such a pricey meal. and the taste... oh no 128553 does not even compensate the amount that you're going to pay. ginataang tilapia, bland to taste and only serves 2 pcs of 1/4 size (its like 1 tilapia cut into 4 and they served half of it and stored the rest). the kare-kare didn't even saved the night. 128534 bland taste also, you have to put lots of bagoong to appreciate the viand. to my dismay, i didn't bother to take a picture of the food. 128533

they can get 110881108811088️ for service and cleanliness but final verdict... won't be coming back. sorry 128532

I love their corned beef sinigang but i had a bad experience in the Capitol Commons branch, I found a worm in my son's soup.

GROSS.

The manager said it must've come from the vegetables in the sinigang. So, they don't clean it enough?

Not coming back to this branch. Will stick with Greenbelt!

I was craving for their best selling Corn Beef Sinigang. It's cool that they give you a soup sample first to check if you like it's sourness. I skipped this tough when friendly Yan, their wait staff suggested something else instead.

It's though eating alone sometimes. I don't get to taste a lot of dishes. I love two simple ones I had- Stir Fried Chicken and Tofu paired with Adobong Kangkong. I didn't know that these odd combination would make me happy. Best when I had chili with it.

The Halo Halo could have memorable of the ice wasn't too big. First it was to hard to mix and while eating there's just too much cracking sounds. Good value though for Php 75.

I usually skip Filipino restaurants when I eat out as it’s the only cuisine I could prepare at home. If I were to choose, I would always pick Japanese as salmon sashimi is L-O-V-E. However, when I’m out with family, I have to take into consideration their preferences. They love Filipino and American food the most. So, a few Sundays ago, after having a lechon feast, we decided to visit Sentro 1771.

Hello, Sentro 1771.

A good friend of mine told me that Sentro 1771 serves really good food and that made me curious about the restaurant. I was supposed to visit the place last Halloween with my UA&P food buddies but since we were still full from our Spätzle dinner, we decided to go to Starbucks instead. (Silent boo.)

The place looked full when we visited but we were lucky as we got a table on the second floor.

Since we were famished, we ordered the following: Fresh Smoked Fish Spring Rolls (PHP280), Rated GG (PHP295), Camote Cups (PHP240), and Sinigang na Corned Beef (PHP595).

First served were the Fresh Smoked Fish Spring Rolls.

I loved the mix of flavors. The chewy and salty tinapang bangus with the salted eggs with the crunch of the onions and the slight tanginess of the tomatoes made this one delicious dish!

The Camote Cups were loved by my mom. It reminded her of her dad’s (my grandfather) cooking. The sweetness of the sweet potatoes and the crunch of the carrots, cabbage and Baguio beans made it difficult for us to stop. (Since the dish was already served with sauce, I didn’t bother putting more.)

Rated GG was my favorite that night. I loved how it was so garlic-y. I love anything with garlic so I could be very biased here. The crunchy galunggong fillets were too addicting. I even broke my no rice diet.

Now for the popular Corned Beef Siningang.

Sentro 1771 did something unique before serving the dish. They gave us a little tea/shot glass to taste the broth. It’s amazing how they thought of the different preferences of the diners.

The broth they made us taste was really tangy (which I super love!). Since my sister is not a fan of tangy dishes, we asked them to tone it down. (Sad.)

The dish was great! Huge chunks of corned beef and boneless beef shanks swimming in (not super) tangy tamarind broth was the highlight of the night.

I will definitely visit this place again! I can’t wait to order more of Rated GG and try the desserts.

Sentro is one of my favorite Filipino restaurants. Pinoy cooking elevated just a notch, not too much that it becomes unfamiliar. I've noticed that restaurants that try to reinvent Pinoy cuisine are short-lived because Pinoys just love family style comfort food.

The interiors of this branch is as great as the others. High ceiling, modern design, feels like home, not overly noisy, not overly crowded. They have a second floor that can be used for private affairs. It has a great view of the ground floor dining area. We came in here for a friend's birthday party on the mezzanine. Food was simply delicious as expected. Out of everything that was served, which seemed like the whole menu, these were my favorites:

Macau chorizo and cheese tidbits - lumpia I couldn't stop munching on
Keso flan - a no crust cheese cake topped with salted egg
Coffee pie - cheesecake on a chocolate cashew crust drizzled with toffee sauce

Notice how 2 desserts are on my list. I seriously alternated bites of the flan and the pie, trying to decide which one I liked better. Not sure if you should consider this pricey. I think you get what you pay for here.

One of the restos that is not crowded at capital commons on a weekend but the menu looks interesting 128077🏻. However the prices were a bit expensive for Filipino dishes...anyway hubby was craving for Filipino food so we went in anyway 128522 Ambiance was relaxing and quiet so you can really talk and relax 128077🏻 We ordered sweets first - Ginataan coz we were really hungry and it was good but served in a small bowl bitin hehe! But maybe its meant to be so we will have room for the main dish 128513

We ordered the Vegetarian Red Rice - red organic rice stir-fried with baguio beans, garlic, cabbage, carrots, celery, onions and chickpeas worth P180. Its just good for two persons so the price is not bad for something organic! We also tried their tofu steak in sesame oil and topped with sweet sour sauce made with tausi, onions, and tomatoes worth P120. Rated GG for P295 was expensive for only 6 small galunggong fillets fried in garlic oil and topped with brown garlic. Lastly, we had the fried squid with a twist - tossed in salt, sugar, brown garlic, dried mango and a little chili. Really crunchy and sweet and salty at the same time with an itst bitsy chili flavor - a little pricey P395 for a small serving but not bad 9996🏻️

Ambience: 4.5 place was clean and chill. Modern filipino design with nice spots to chill compared to the busy places around.

Food: 3.4 nothing extra special but sinigang na corned beef is worth the try anyway since its meat is unique. Also a plus for places that let you try the broth taste before serving you the dish.

Service: 3.8 service is fast and polite.

Price: 3.5 - a little pricey, but good to try at least for their specialty dishes.

I must admit that I didn't like this restaurant the first time I tried it. I found it over promising and too expensive. However, they were able to make me like them during my second visit. I was able to try their lengua and man it is good! Very tender and has the right combination of flavor. It is my recommended dish, more than the sinigang na corned beef. Their desserts are really simple and common but I think the coffee cake was the hit among my colleagues. I am personally not amazed by it but I still think it is worth the try. Just don't forget to order the lengua 128513

Pardon the photo. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture before eating.

I was disappointed. Last time I was here (Greenbelt branch), I remember the Adobo being really marvelous, I even said that their Adobo is better than your grandma's. Somehow all those good memories of Sentro 1771 disappeared tonight.

The Rated GG (Galunggong fillet) was just simple, garlic-fried fish. The Corned beef sinigang tasted nothing like Sinigang (ideally dapat maasim ang Sinigang e). I liked how they give you a sample of Sinigang broth first and ask you if there are adjustments that needs to be made before serving, but in the end they weren't able to capture that classic Sinigang taste. We specifically told them "dagdagan pa ng asim", but to no avail. The garlic adobo was....okay.

That's it. Nothing really special.
