Was missing Seoul and I remembered this joint near our office. This place looks like the eateries you find in the streets of Seoul. The Koreans who eat here add to that vibe. I felt like I was back at my fave city. Beware, no aircon but they have electric fans naman. Al fresco only. No free kimchi but you can order one.

Of course I got Beef Bulgogi. So good! Hits the spot! Extra hot and big serving. Hoping to try their other dishes soon.

Touted as a Korean carinderia for its price, we decided to try this out as the reviews were promising.

We came on a cool November night so their al fresco dining was a perfect way to hopefully enjoy some spicy soup. If you like skylines do take the seats nearest Puccini and look up to enjoy the trio of buildings behind the Strip.

This place though is just not for us.

Sizzling Bibimbap 250.00
Needs more meat! We ordered 2 extra servings of meat as one serving was just about 2 tablespoons. Take note the sizzling bibimbap is more expensive than the original, non sizzling one just for the use of the bowl.

Soy Bean Stew 250.00
Needs more tofu! It's essentially just miso soup and small cubes of tofu.

Boiled Dumpling 200
This was ok. You need to dip it on your preferred sauce because there's not much flavor on its own.

I am certain we can get more bang for the buck at Sariwon. People are right though. The look, service and lasa are carinderia for me.

Offers Korean Cuisine at an affordable price. Bibimbap and the black bean noodle are tasty and very heavy. I'm really not a fan of Korean food but the food was great and very healthy.128077🏿

We tried their Chicken Bibimbab and Spicy Chicken Bulgogi. Both were Php200 each. It was very delicious! This shop seemed out of place among the bars and clubs in The Fort Strip, with its homey and simple appeal. Will definitely return! :)

Seoul Express is one of my go-to places when I need my dose of comfort food:

My favorites:

Steamed dumplings - 100 pesos for a half order (8 pcs), and 200 pesos for 1 whole order (16 pcs).

Fried dumplings - 100 prsos for a half order (4 pcs), and 200 pesos for 1 whole order (8 pcs).

These two are staple appetizers to be tried in this place. The duming wrap is not too thick, thus, you can actually appreciate the taste of what is inside.

Spicy Chicken Bulgogi - a 200 bucks meal with rice and 3 side dishes of kimchi, steamed spinach and coleslaw salad. Spicy level is just right, but if you want it extra hot, you can have it done that way 128513 The sides perfectly complement the spicy chicken, specially the steamed spinach and the coleslaw salad (salad dressing btw is sesame dressing usually found in korean stores).

My friend ordered the Korean Seafood Ramen and she looked pretty happy with what she got. It had mussels, shrimps and crabs. Bowl size is just right, can be finished by 1 hungry person. 128540

Melona icecream is available, and it is the best ending to a good, authentic korean meal.

Service is okay, with two ates attending to your needs, plus the friendly Korean owner. Service may become a bit slow if they are full with customers.

Would have given it a 5 if it werent for the pesky irritating flies in the place. Seoul Express is not airconditioned, it's like a small, open canteen that can accomodate 30 people max. Therefore imagine how hot it can be during summers 128528. Electric fans are not enought to make one feel cooler, and its not enough to ward of the flies. Hope they can eventually do something about it.

With the northeast monsoon still giving us a few more weeks of perfectly chilly nights, I've been dining al fresco more often. I hate it when a restaurant is too cold or too hot because that can have a negative impact on the eating experience, so whenever the weather permits, al fresco is the way to go. And the current favorite is Seoul Express!

I'd like to thank looloo crew Jacy for the swift response after the surprise when I couldn't find Seoul Express on looloo, so thanks to her, that's all settled now. 1280779786

On to the food! It's the current favorite for a couple of simple reasons:

Ambience: 1108811088110881108811088
The whole restaurant is al fresco, so I'm sure every dining experience here in the evenings would be great. I haven't tried visiting during the day though, but I'm considering getting take out for lunch because it might be too warm to have it there.

Food: 1108811088110881108811088
I could be exaggerating here because I haven't tried everything on their menu yet. But the ones I've had so far are delicious! The side dishes taste fresh and are UNLIMITED. The pepper sauce with meat - the one that comes with the bibimbap - is also unlimited. This one made me really really happy haha 1285411280769786

Tip: Order the Original Bibimbap if you don't mind having it without the fresh egg in the middle (the one with the fresh egg is the Hotpot Bibimbap and the only difference I observed is it was simply served on a hotpot). Have I mentioned yet that I love bibimbap? 128540

Korean ice cream for dessert is also available.

Price: 11088110881108811088
For Korean food this good, I can say it's borderline cheap! I only give 4 stars though because the Samgyeopsal seemed pricey compared to the others on the menu. But I've yet to try that to find out if it's worth it! More reason go back YAY! 128131

Any more good Korean restaurants out there you can suggest? Thanks for reading!

Though the place looks really plain and simple they serve Korean food, Korean style! Ramen right from the cooking pot. Your bibimbap and jjigae on a hot pot and table top grill your sampgyupsal!

Food tastes good and authentic! The only thing I hate about this place aside from very few side dish/es, is that its really hard to pick from their menu. Lol. I get torn between ramen and bibimbap and jjigae every single time.

Slow claps 128079128079128079 to the owner who never gets tired of greeting her customers with a smile. very warm and accommodating plus 1 star 11088

We don't usually eat to Korean restaurants but when we tried to eat here, I can say that they have the best tasting Korean cuisine ever. I already ate here for 3 times and I will surely think of coming back again.

I already tried their bulgogi, bibimbab and korean noodles. Everything was so delicious and you will never regret every single bite.I have not tried other Korean restaurants yet but I am certain that this will surely be on my top list.

Price range are ranging from 200 to 400 good for sharing. You can also ask for kimchi and it's for free.

Ordered Chap Chae for merienda earlier since this is a few steps away from my office. I must say it didn't disappoint!

Love the taste plus their free kimchi isn't spicy (I'm not a fan of spicy foods). Also, the setup of the restaurant reminds me of HK/SG hawker style food joints 128077

Will go back to try their Bibimbap 128077

This was my first time to use looloo. I just downloaded the app because I was craving a kimchi stew. Several places popped up and I almost went to the one on high street, but I was alone, and just wanted something quick and cheap. This was perfect.

Not the best kimchi stew (that's in little Korea outside Clark) but pretty honest fare. Very casual street dining, reasonable prices and friendly staff earns this place a spot on my list of favorites.

I found my own "Santorini" in Fort area. 9786

Okay, I'll explain. When I was still studying in UST, I have this favorite Korean restaurant but it's located in P. Noval (My bldg is in Dapitan st.) Despite the distance I still go to this place whenever i'm craving Korean.

Now that I'm working in Makati, I'm always looking for nice restaurants nearby that are not pricey. So glad that I found the one! The one that will satisfy my Korean cravings!

The place is small and not high maintenance, just like the food places you see in Koreanovelas. The price is very affordable and worth it! And yeah, it's very much authentic. 128539

Now, I don't have to come back to UST just to visit Santorini. Haha

What can I say?
I had no expectations when I walked into this joint for the first time, and was promptly blown away! Everything about the experience was great, from the friendly owners & staff that greeted us as we came in to the delicious banchan (free side dishes).
Kimchi stew is awesome at the price if P220..
