Our visit to Seryna was a planned trip so we were able to reserved a few days before. As you know, meals in the Little Tokyo area require a reservation.

We were pretty overwhelmed with their extensive food choices. Just like any other Japanese meal, we started with a sashimi platter (San Ten Mori or 3 Kinds of Assorted Sashimi). All types tasted fresh and the serving was just enough for 2-3 people. We also ordered 5pcs Kushiyaki Moriawase or Grilled Assorted Skewers + Buta Bara or Skewered Pork Belly. The platter mostly include different chicken parts. All the skewers (including the pork belly) were a bit dry. My friend also got Chirashi Sushi or Sashimi Mix on Sushi Rice. I didn’t like it because I’m not fond of eating sashimi with rice. We also ordered sushi but I forgot what it’s called. Not sure if it’s Salmon Roll but it had salmon wrapped in it and grilled fish on top each piece. I like the taste and texture of the sushi and the grilled fish gives it a little crunch when you chew it. My friends ordered other dishes - eel and spicy salmon. Despite eating a lot of different dishes, I’m still hungry so I ended up ordering ebi tempura and a cup of rice.

Food was good and the price was matched to the quality of the food. The beef cubes were so yummy. Best to go during lunch as there are better deals for the same food that you can order at dinner time, I was told.

Avoid this matcha dessert. It ruined my first experience at little Tokyo/ seryna. It was EXTREMELY SWEET and not delicious eat all. I have a high tolerance for sweetness. I love desserts (sugary cupcake frostings for example) but I still found it too sweet. We requested for more milk and found out they only had condensed milk (that explains the sweetness). She offered more ice but even that didn't help. It was still too sweet. Such a waste of money. We ate less than 1/8 of that green tea dessert.

The servings have become so little and the quality has gone down. Service is awful as well. Best to go to the other restaurants in little Tokyo. This is one is disappointing.

That P480 salmon sashimi tasted like it was just taken fresh out of the water... And I mean it in the best way possible!

Also had cali maki, gyu don, and cold soba with tempura. Forgettable but good, nevertheless.

Seryna also has the nicest ambience in Little Tokyo.

Place gets easily filled up so I'd advise to call ahead and reserve a table.

I was really looking forward to visiting Little Tokyo so I got a bit disappointed when the food was not that good at Seryna. Or at least the ones i had.

Spicy tuna roll was ok but there was nothing special about it.

According to a friend, their sushi platter is the bomb so you might wanna consider getting that if ever you'll visit 128522 Also, pls tell me which Japanese restos around the area are gooood!

The service was good but the food is just okay. The price is too much for it's quality. There's nothing to come back for.

Finally found the courage to brave the Manila -> Makati traffic for some authentic Japanese food. We got there around 8:30pm and the place was packed. We were 3rd in line and the server informed us that since the kitchen was extra busy, serving time would take an extra 30mins to an hour. Now talk about testing my patience!128513

We prepared our orders beforehand and went on beast-mode the moment we were seated. No time to waste for the hungry! Hahaha! So we got,

• shishamo - A childhood favorite! It's a saltwater fish with its' entire belly filled with fish roe. It reminds me of tawilis because you get to eat the entire fish too! Super yummy but a little steep for 200+php/3 pcs. We also learned that the nearby Japanese supermarket sells this for 100php/6pcs. What a rip-off. 🙄128514

• chirashi sushi - the closest thing to the ones I had in Tsukiji market! Everything was really fresh and the serving size wasn't so bad either. Worth the long wait!

• ebi tempura - I don't think it's the best we had but it wasn't oily and the batter was crisp to perfection. Not so bad.

• chicken skin and chicken liver sticks - nothing special but since it was served first, parang sarap na sarap kami. Hahahaha!

Overall a great dining experience from the servers to the quality of food BUT, I am deducting a star because I saw big cockroaches walking underneath the chairs/tables.

I read somewhere that Seryna has the best sushi and sashimi in Little Tokyo so we decided to head over here. I had Tempura and Gyoza. Both were average. Note that I'm giving 3 stars for what I ate in particular because I'm not a fan of raw food and I couldn't tell whether their sushi is better than others bec all raw food taste bad to me. My boyfriend forced me to try the sashimi and though (like I said) I'm not a fan, I could tell that it was very fresh. I think the restaurant is really legit since their sushi chef is Japanese and most of the diners as well. Imo, quite pricey but we walked out feeling really bloated so that makes good value for money.

Dining alone isn't always a bad thing. Especially if it's with Seryna in Little Tokyo.

With some days when you're in between locations for meetings, it can be hard to find a lunch companion. Guys are looking for you, but you're still far away - so you end up looking for at least some good food.

And the gozen in Seryna doesn't disappoint at all. What I have here is the Sukiyaki Gozen. It's a bento with all the things you see as part of the Php380. Well worth it with what you get - the sukiyaki, rice, miso, vegetable appetizer, fruit dessert. I've tried the other gozen orders and all of them are also pretty good. The sad part is perhaps eating by your lonesome - you can't order the saikoro which is their version of the wagyu beef cubes. We only order that when there's at least 3 diners.

The gozen meals are only available during lunch, 1130 to 230 in the afternoon. I went during lunchtime and if I wasn't alone - I wouldn't have had a table. On a weekday, so - business is pretty good. The only downside perhaps to the entire Little Tokyo area is the parking. Though MCS is still there, dilapidated and all but the basement parking still works.

Ate here tonight with my friends :) I was amazed by the wide range and variety of sashimi and sushi they have. Although their food is a bit pricy but it's worth trying. I must say nothing's new and unique about this restaurant - well it's just really an authentic japanese restaurant :) a lot of guests eats there during dinner so finding a good seat might not be easy. I loved their crispy fried squid and mackerel. Hoping I could get back so I could try more on what in their menu.

Office lunch with some colleagues and the boss. We almost ended up in an Indian restaurant but I immediately said I don't like Indian food. Hahaha. I suggested Little Tokyo and they
didn't object. Yay! My boss remembered this place because of their reasonably priced Lunch Sets. 127857

The place was full when we arrived and we were lucky that a table was vacated minutes before we got there. We waited until the waitress finished cleaning the table before she
allowed us to take a seat. She handed us the Lunch Menu but didn't bother to explain what’s included in each set. It didn't have any description written either. We had to figure it out ourselves.

We ordered two sushi sets for the boss and her friend, tonkatsu set for my colleague, and hot udon set for myself. While waiting for our lunch sets to be served, we ordered a Tamago Yaki as appetizer. Sweet cubed egg omelette served with radish. It was light and delicious. 127859

My food arrived first. I was surprised how huge the serving was. A big bowl of hot udon, with side salad, a couple of sushi rolls, deep-fried meat (not sure if it was chicken or pork),
and two slices of oranges. The noodles were slightly chewy with a good bite. Soup was light and clean in flavor. I enjoyed the futomaki roll that came with my meal too. It was definitely
sulit for P380. 128523 Maybe I should try their grilled fish bento next time.

Had lunch with wifey at seryna. She was feeling under the weather and wanted miso soup. We obviously ordered more than that!
We got 2 bento boxes at 380 pesos each. She got tempura and I got assorted fish. Both came with salads, grapes, Japanese pickles and miso soup. delish!!!
We also ordered salmon roe sushi, uni tempura and chicken skin skewer.
Glad to see the standards haven't gone down! Cheers! Happy weekend!

I'm not really a huge fan of Japanese food but Seryna made me one! I don't eat sashimi and sushi but still! Their beef cubes were amazing! I know California maki is a very simple sushi but the mangoes were so sweet! Their crab sticks salad were amazing too since you have an option the change the crab sticks to the real ones! Seriously can't wait to go back!

There are 2 reasons why I'd keep coming back whenever I have the chance: the kaizen gozen lunch set and their salmon roll. 128076128076128076

The kaizen gozen lunch set is a thing of beauty. It just looks so pretty in a sort of delicious way haha. Its a lunch set with mixed sashimi, tamago, and pink sugar(?) over sushi rice. It comes with the standard sides and soup that they have with every lunch set. I could eat this for lunch every day, I swear! 128517

The salmon roll is another thing that they're known for, and rightfully so! Take your typical salmon roll and throw in some crispy salmon skin and fish eggs, and you have one killer roll. The saltiness and crispness of the skin makes for a good pairing with the more neutral and soft salmon meat and fish eggs. Can't NOT order this every time I'm there. 128513
