Went here for a very vegetarian meal, and all I can say is that if I do go vegetarian in the future, this is one of the restaurants I will consider eating at!

Cant remember the names of the dishes since I wasnt the one who ordered, but here are the few that made my tastebuds happy : the dish with tofu and mushrooms. I hate tofu but boy was that tofu great!!!!!! So yummy. Spring rolls -- so tasty! Yang chow fried rice, I love a good yang chow fried rice! The sour and spicy soup was also great, though I had a hard time drinking it, the aftertaste is still so good!

What I didnt like ~ the fried eggplant dish. I don't really like eggplant and this one is soggy. Also, the beancurd roll with bell peppers (?) dish tasted weird.

For dessert we had the almond + lychee bowl. Almond was not soft and thick! But ok!

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Shang Palace as service is top notch, and food was great and different from the lauriats we usually have in parties. Truly lives up to its name. Hope to come back next time to try the meaty dishes.

If u have tried so many chinese restaurants in hongkong and taiwan, ur taste buds will be different na.. For me, even if this is a 5127775 hotel chinese restaurant, the foods are just like typical chinese restaurant which i've tasted here in the Phils.. Taste good naman but not as good as the original cantonese or chinese chef in other asian countries.. Our dishes includes suckling pig combination, yangzhou fried rice, peking duck 2 ways, abalone with sea cucumber, pan fried scallops, grouper, noodles and soft shell crabs.
Don't like to sound boastful but really, that's what i've noticed.. But still gave them a 4127775 because overall , it taste good naman and i like their chandelier!!! Hahahaha 128518

Company Christmas party was held at Makati Shangri-La Hotel's Shang Palace.

For 888php/head, you'll get to experience a dim sum all you can feast that will surely make you super into Chinese food!

From soups to all kinds of dim sums to different types of fried rice to main dishes including roasted duck and hainanese chicken to desserts like buchi, mango sago etc., come here with an empty stomach because you'll surely enjoy munching on all their dishes served hot as it's freshly cooked for you!

My favorites were the Cream of Corn & Broccoli Soup, Xiao Long Bao, Scallops with Asparagus, Roasted Duck, Buchi and their Fruits Platter.

Their staff were really accommodating and extra nice, really attentive and focused in providing good service to us.

The photo was a toss-up between a chandelier and food. You know which won, pardon the crappy shot though. These were my favorite three items we ordered in the dimsum buffet - ha kaw, pork buns aaaaaand their taro. Not in photo were the hot and sour soup that was also a favorite, the vegetable dumpling that was also tasty, the prawn balls filled with cheese!! We had ordered more but i forgot what they were but they landed in my stomach with a fluid shebang! 127881127873127882

Desserts were also great! We ordered almond jelly lychee and the mango sago. I distinctly remember checking the buchi but egg custards came in bite-sized pieces. You would think that it would be ordinary but the crust of the tart was light and crumbly not hard and crusty. That was just a Delightful way to end the meal! Am thankful for an invite to lunch and for the endless tea! I wouldn't have survived this lunch!

P.S. This was the P988 or was it P888 dimsum buffet offered by Makati shangri-la in April. The redemption is only until Monday and people waited last minute to use it. Hell for the management. Tsk!

Was invited by our Japanese friends for dinner at Shang Palace.

They ordered a dinner set that was comprised by the restaurant's known dishes.

Had this soup first as starter wc was a clear soup w mushroom, abalone , and chicken meat .

We had assorted coldcuts, peking duck, eel rice , beancurd ,cereal prawns and scallops..

I was full after the gastronomic experience and thank our hosts for the treat :)

BARBECUED PORK PIES. Yeah...all caps. It very much deserves of that. It was oh-why-is-this-so-great when I first bit into it. It was so warm and had this crusty outer layer. I would go back to this palace just for this. Extremely yummy! 128523

Attended a friends wedding... Food was ok but for the price they paid, we expected more, much much more 128529 @ 30+k per table, the food was mediocre at best... We could've gotten better Chinese food elsewhere for half the price. Off night for them maybe??

In this review, I'm combining my last two visits since I loved them both anyway.

This is a go-to place for our special non-occasions. Those are times when we're able to splurge and we're celebrating everything that's going well for us with good company. Both times we had dear family and a good friend with us.

I believe their Dim Sum Plus menu presents great value for the taste, quality, and serving sizes. Our usual orders were served with the same excellent consistency we've known this establishment for. Shrimp dumplings, xiao long bao, spring rolls, yang chow fried rice, scallops with asparagus, and eveything else we ordered were great.

We added a small order of crispy roast pork from the ala carte menu, and that was enjoyable too. Crispy, crunchy skin, and meat that was tender and not too fatty.

They had a small drink buffet too, but for next time I'd skip the iced tea here unless it says 'lemon' specifically. That was my mistake though, I didn't bother asking.

Otherwise, I LOVED everything about my visits here.

On a side note, the Little One was with us for visit one, a few days before she began eating solids. She had the most curious, adorable look everytime a spoonful (chopstickful?) of food went past her. And the drool that came with that look! 128525128522

Had the dimsum buffet with my girlfriends and it was scrumptious! The food was cooked upon ordering, and surprisingly, waiting time was alright. Quite fast, compared to the dimsum buffet in Xin Tian Di. Service as usual was good. 128077 Wanna come back!
