There's nothing more tender than wagyu. Another fantastic dish from the Canton Road kitchen of the hotel, Sautéed Wagyu in Sichuan Pepper.

A modern way of serving lobster. Sinful but worth all the calories. Deep fried crispy lobster roll with wasabi cream. Superb!

Had our Christmas staycation here last year. Here's my review on our room and stay only. I'll make another review on their food.
Room: We stayed at a Deluxe room. It was spacious at 45 sqm. King-sized bed. There's also a sofa, desk (which I think was too big), a coffee station and luggage rack. It has a big bathroom (marbled) with separate shower and bath tub areas. Complete line of toiletries from L'occitane (from shampoo to lotion). Only missing is a bidet. They have a cable tv bit what I was looking for is an ipod docking station or a music player/speaker where we can play Christmas songs. Unfortunately, none. Good thing we bought our own speakers.
Wifi: Free wifi. Fast and accessible in all
Parts of the building
Others: Apart from the welcome goods - dried fruits. They also gave us Christmas goodies! We had cookies and chocolates. As for the decors, I noticed that it they added a touch of Filipino culture everywhere like in the hallways where they displayed framed piña fabric used in barongs. It was a really nice.
Staff: Very courteous. Fast. Always smiling. When you call them for a request, they make sure they attend to it asap. They really noted our special requests which I wrote down when I booked them 3 months before our stay. Service was excellent from check-in until our check-out. 🏼

I have to admit, when this place opened - I think like all "new" hotels, it was the place to be spotted in. But with the money-miser in me, where it has to be of right "value" before I shell-out cash for it, I couldn't bear to spend 18k++ nett for an overnight stay with breakfast.
The wife convinced me to stay here since it was our anniversary, they came out with a holiday promo which cut about 4k off the usual price. It was still steep but what the heck - for the happiness of the wife.
I guess this review won't be what everyone would be expecting from a review site. It's going to be somewhat plain. Let's get to the good points first - then the not so nice points.
1. Very comfortable mattress, nice clean and crisp sheets. For someone with scoliosis - it was really great!
2. Plenty of pillows to use, you even get a choice of which type depending on preference.
1. Hotel still isn't done, far from it actually. On the afternoon of our stay, you can still hear construction work.
2. Don't bother paying for the extra money for that "High Street View" since the window was practically muddy from the construction dust, perhaps from the buildings in the area being constructed.
3. Fixtures aren't properly fitted. The cabinet of the ironing board kept sliding open as you open the clothes cabinet. Yes, it shouldnt do that - but it did tell us where the ironing board was.
4. Shower floor wasn't even - the puddle of water in that area won't go to the sink.
5. Hotel toiletries were practically lackluster. 1 soap, 1 body wash, 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner. Small ones. Perhaps enough for a night, but not for a night in ShangriLa.
6. Amenities are top notch as expected as far as the gym and basketball court is concerned, but we found the pool disappointing. Not only was it so small given the size of the hotel, it too was very dusty.
As you read, the cons greatly outnumbered the pros. Wouldn't expect that much normally but this is ShangriLa. It should be the norm.
But here's what really got to me - there was a fruit basket in the room, but the fruits were rotten with mold! On top of having a note on the table which I thought was for us - but was actually addressed to someone else and they just forgot to take it out.
As you get to the expensive hotels, what would differentiate them from each other are the details. In Manila, the standard for us is still Sofitel. I think what I was expecting was acceptable given that it was almost US$300 - more expensive than some major hotel rooms in Singapore and Japan where property prices are sky-high.
So as for me and my suggestion to those who will be planning on staying there - perhaps sometime later in the future when they get their act together.

My family and I had a staycation in Shangri-La at the Fort Manila. It was just a short overnight stay, but it surely was excellent. The location of this hotel is exquisite. It's equally accessible from all the nice places to go in BGC!
We booked two rooms. I had a number of requests that were all accommodated. We got connecting Deluxe Rooms, on a high floor, both non-smoking rooms and near the elevator. I was so happy that we got exactly as I asked for. All connecting rooms consists of a room with 1 big bed, and the other room with 2 single beds. My parents stayed in the room with the King bed and my sister and I stayed in the one with Twin beds. The rooms are huge! Their look is much more modern compared to other Philippine Shangri-La properties. The amenities are superb and the beds were absolutely comfortable!
The pool was very nice too. Apparently, they are going to open 2 pools but only 1 is operating now as the other is still being constructed. The pool was perfect for laps. And then I loved the gym! Kerry Sports is ginormous! They have so much equipment and gym amenities, plus complimentary classes for in-house guests. It was definitely a plus!
We didn't avail the breakfast anymore because our package didn't have breakfast built into to room rate. It would be awesome to try next time.
Will definitely come back for another staycation soon!

A bottle of this white wine is almost 1500php. It's a good place to chill although a bit pricey. The interiors are more over the word spectacular and I love the weekend band to which they play classic/bossanova? Haha

Hubby's 37th birthday staycation at the newest branch of Shangrila hotels in the Philippines, The Shangrila-La the Fort located at the 30th street corner 5th Avenue Bonifacio Global City.
Shangrila The Fort Manila is a landmark , mixed use development that was opened last Mach 1, 2016 and features a hotel , residences , private homes, retail shops, restaurants , and Kerry Sports Manila. The City's largest indoor fitness and leisure club and was one of the reason why my husband wish to have his bday staycation here at The Shangrila The Fort Manila.
Went there last July 16-17, stayed their for overnight. Got their weekend adventure package consist of free buffet breakfast at the High Street Cafe, complimentary fruits for being a Golden Circle Club memeber, complimentary bottled water, free wifi , free use of swimming pool, free access to Kerry Sports Manila, 2 free pass for adventure zone for the kids. This package cost around 12k plus. Then they ask for incidental deposit of 4,500 pesos and can be refunded upon check out. They accept major credit cards.
Check in time was standard at 2:00pm but they allowed early check in and you can already use of their facilities while waiting for your room. I was impressed of their parking, it's so big and clean, this is truly a 5 star hotel facilities. Then our luggages will go through the scanners for security purposes which I really admire that Shangrila hotel have this security for the protection of the in house hotel guests.
There you are the pretty chandeliers waiting at me and stared at them again and again Staffs from Shangrila hurriedly assist us on luggages while we were busy transacting our room reservation. Everything was in order and the service was fast. The reservation agent was so nice and accommodating to all my requests. She gave the room keys and the bell man accompanied us to our room. Our room was located at the 21st floor. That's how tall the new Shangrila The Fort Manila. A skyscraper in the heart of BGC. Very neat to malls and other establishments in BGC.
The room was very elegant among the Shangrila hotel this was the best one. I'm truly blessed that finally I was able to go to all the Shangrila Hotels here in the Philippines. Truly a fan of Shangrila hotels.
Shangrila The Fort has variety of restaurants, the newly opmed was a Chinese restaurant, they have a High Street Lounge which we had our afternoon tea a couple of months prior to our stay. They are very rich in amenities. They have three swimming pool, one located at the Kerry Sports Manila which i enjoyed most , one at the Horizon club and one was still in the making , the Kerry Sports which is the bday boy wish. He and my son really had fun with the basketball court.
At the evening we decided to go out and when we got back the staffs send me a personal letter and a complimentary cake for my husband. Not but not the least, they extend our stay for 2pm or they allowed us for late check out as they want us to enjoy our stay.
The following morning was another great experience as I was excited to have breakfast, beyond my expectations, the breakfast buffet at the High Stree Cafe was one of the best buffet breakfast experience for me. I'll make a separate review for this one.
We check out at 2pm and again everything was fast. Truly our stay is worth it, a memorable Shangrila bday staycation got the hubby.
Now I can earned again points with my Golden Circle that later on will you received freebies from the Shangrila hotels for being loyal to them.️️️️️

We were initially just going to have brunch and get some work done in High Street Lounge, but right before heading to The Fort, my mom suggested checking-in. Wait whaaattt? Hahaha
She was serious.
So I immediately reserved a room online, and it was a very fast process. We got a Deluxe room, which included use of the sports facility and the pool, and breakfast buffet for 2 in the High Street Café.
We reserved a room with twin beds, but Joanne, the receptionist, asked us if we wanted a king-sized bed instead. She was ready to give us our room, if so. We wanted to check it out first, so she personally took us to the room, and when we got there, we just couldn’t help but take it already. She offered to send us an extra blanket, since we decided to avail this instead of the twin beds. We didn’t need it, but accepted her offer anyway.
The room was spacious. Aside from the king-sized bed, there was a desk for working, and a single-sized couch with foot rest. The room also includes a mini-bar filled with refreshments and some snacks you can purchase. There was also a safety box, complimentary coffee and tea and water and bedroom slippers.
The bathroom was very spacious as well. Of course, a toilet, and then a bathtub, a shower area, and a long bathroom counter with a sink. Complimentary toiletries included, plus they have a blow dryer. Sadly, no bidet.
For the facilities, the gym was a beaut! Although I wasn’t able to use it, I got to check it out. It was 2 floors of world class equipment, plus a tennis court, basketball court, and a pool. The gym seems nice to workout in since it’s well lit and not much people, but the pool was packed. Hahaha I think there will be another pool opening soon; for now, I only got to see it from looking down from our room.
The breakfast buffet was gooood! But more on that in a separate review for the High Street Café.
Check out was a breeze and I was very happy that they were able to give us an extension till 2pm. I had to request that ahead of time, of course.
I was only kind of disappointed when we were leaving already. We already availed of a car pass, even while we were checked in. But we only decided to leave late afternoon. I already asked for assistance with processing our exit, but for some reason the machine in the parking was not accepting our parking card. Grrrr I had to go back inside to check. I super appreciated the help of everyone, I mean literally almost all the staff and admin wanted to help. I honestly felt like a celebrity for at least 10 minutes. But yeah still hassle that when we were about to leave was when something like that happened. Hayyy. Maybe a defective card, because it happened the second time. I just hope it never happens again. Huhu
Overall, I would say that my experience was good, but it could have been better. I guess it’s because I was out most of the time. I didn’t get to super relax in the room, as much as my mom did. And some of the hotel’s facilities are still on the way, such as the spa. And that parking incident. Maybe next time my “good” stay can become “great”. For now, I’ll be coming back for the High Street Lounge and High Street Café.

Finally, I got to try Shangri-La at The Fort - Manila's food yesterday during our corporate press launch event at their Narra Function Room.
Shangri-La at The Fort - Manila recently opened this February to March 2016. It's located at the 30th Street of Bonifacio Global City and up until now, most of its stores, facilities, restaurants and other shops are still under construction.
Our clients wanted to hold their event here to maximize its newness and grandness so yes for new places for events and new foods to taste!
Most of the items present in the buffet include some modern Cantonese cuisine which is very Asian in its presentation. These include roasted and barbecued meats, sweet and sour pork, herbed beef and broccoli, and whole lot more.
The create-your-own salad has its own bar wherein you can choose from different vegetables and sauces that you want to drizzle on top of the leaves. Bread and butter were stationed on the sides too.
The soup tasted like Nido Soup with a lot of shrimp in it. It's texture was thick and really heavy, making it really filling.
Th dessert bar (the one in the photo) was my favorite, as always. They had Mango Sago, White Chocolate Panna Cotta with Strawberry and Chocolate Cake. I loved loved loved the panna cotta! It was to die for. The texture, taste, presentation, everything about it was perfect. The strawberries tasted so good too!
The restaurant interiors were a combination of coloured patterns and painted walls that actually give it a formal yet calming look. The dining tables and utensils looked all new and really polished.
The function's servers, waitstaff and crew were all attentive, polite and really aggressive. They were keen with what they are doing and they know how to satisfy their guests as they manage their concerns well.
The lighting and ventilation inside the Narra Functiok Rooms were good too and really at its best.
Shangri-La at The Fort - Manila, for sure, will become the hottest event place in the coming months, or weeks probably. With its continuous, slowly but surely full opening, I am certain that they will only deliver what's best for their guests and clients.

It was my first time to visit Shangri-La at The Fort, Manila last Friday when we had an ocular for a corporate press launch scheduled this week.
Nestled at the busy and commercial area of The Fort, Bonifacio Global City, Shangri-La at The Fort Manila is the newest of all the Shangri-La hotels in the country.
Upon entering this new hotel, you'll get to see a lot of staff willing to assist you from the moment that you get out of your car. Parking attendants and valet personnels are already stationed in their areas, ready to give of service to guests.
From the main entrance door, you'll get to feel how cold it is inside, showing how new their air conditioners are, with how cold it can get. The lighting of the whole place is also as brand new as it looks.
From the inside, you'll also get to see how grand and gorgeous their designed chandeliers are. The crystals and glowing effect emanating from those give the place an even classier and sophisticated look.
The ground floor has the reception and the cafe area where the breakfast buffet takes place. Their cafe is also like a lounge area where most meetings are happening. This area have lounges, couches and cushions that are really comfortable looking. Their tables have nice centerpieces and the whole area has beautiful curtains that cover the place during the peak of the day's heat.
Their elevators can actually accommodate almost 10-13 pax per. They were as brand as new and very polished and cleaned well, you can use the sides as mirrors.
When we reached the 4th level were most function rooms are located, we saw how intricately thought of the designs were, matching from all sides, from the ground floor going up. The function rooms were named in Filipino trees.
There were still a lot of construction going on and a lot of stores are set to open in the near future but as of the moment, Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila is as promising as all the other Shangri-La hotels in the Philippines.

The most awaited branch of Shangrila-La hotels has opened its doors at the Bonifacio Global City recently. Shangrila-La The Fort Manila is strategically located at the 30th Street corner 50th Avenue Bonifacio Global City Taguig.
Finally my family and I was able to go there last Holy Thursday afternoon for an afternoon tea. I've been waiting for this for so long and the day that I've been waiting for has come.
Rising 250 meters high, Shangri-La, at The Fort is now one of the tallest towers in the Philippines. It's looks beautiful at night and I've seen the Shangrila logo when we were about to leave BGC. This hotel is located at the heart of BGC emerging contemporary lifestyle district at the Center of Metro Manila. Alongside Shangri-La Residences, and the Kerry Sports Manila which really makes us to wanna go back at Shangri-La The Fort, it's an elite lifestyle leisure club, they have two floors where you can go to gym, a nice basketball court and they even have yoga session. They have membership and good news is that if you are a hotel guest, you have a free access to Kerry Sports Manila.
The parking was very clean and organized and the security was tight from the parking up to the main entrance lobby. They will have to scan your bags before you can enter the hotel. Upon stepping at the Shangri-La The Fort, this glamorous chandeliers welcomes me on hand. What a magnificent grandeur lobby, gigantic chandelier. We tried to inquire for the hotel room rates because we're interested to go back here for overnight stay and they have a promo which will cost 11,000++ nett. I heard that their hotel rooms was elegant and spacious. There were a lot of restroom around the lobby and it's really impressive , I would say that it's really a Shangri-La restroom for it is really clean and well maintained.
The hotel is really nice but there was few number of areas were not yet completed. We saw their pool located at The Kerry Sports Manila and a huge tennis court. I heard that there was still two more pool to be open so it will be a total of three swimming pools at The Shangri-La The Fort.
There were good restaurants also like the High Street Cafe .
If you'll gonna ask me what makes them different on the other Shangri-La hotel branch here in the Philippines is that they invested more on the facilities. As a Golden Circle club member , I always patronized Shangri-La hotels and for sure I'll be back here with my family real soon. I am so excited what Shangri-La The Fort has more to offer to their loyal customers like me.
Truly a 5 star hotel ️️️️️
